It has been one and a half years since fans last saw this popular anime on screens. Hence, they are now wondering when they will be able to see Val × Love Season 2. The idea of the anime’s debut season is pretty interesting, but it seems like the production company couldn’t execute it properly. Val × Love is a Japanese action-fantasy harem anime series. It is the remake of an ecchi manga series of the same title by Ryousuke Asakura. Hoods Entertainment picked up the story and animated the first season of this show. The anime made its debut on October 5, 2019. Whereas, it ran for a total of 12 episodes before ending on December 21 of the same year. 

Manga Compared To The Anime

As we stated above, this Hoods Entertainment anime was an adaptation of a manga series of the same name. The pacing of the anime’s debut season was a bit rushed, and some fans complained about its execution. The production studio did make some changes, but it didn’t significantly affect its storyline. Its first run adopted a total of 26 chapters and found its stopping point at the end of Volume 5.

The great thing is that Ryousuke Asakura has published a total of eleven volumes so far. Therefore, Hoods Entertainment still has six books that they can use in Val × Love Season 2. The remaining source material is more than enough for them to make a full-fledged 12-episode anime season. 

Val × Love Season 2: Renewal Status

The debut season of the anime received a mixed response from everyone. Even the critics addressed that the show has potential. However, they criticized the show for the overuse of fan service and called this show borderline hentai. It affected its ratings, and currently, the show has a score of 5.89 on MyAnimeList. However, the series still managed to get a lot of fans and has more than 70K members in its MAL group. So, huge demand for the sequel from its fans might force the makers to renew Val × Love Season 2.

On the other hand, the production studio also has enough source material for it. So, it is likely that the producers will give this show another shot.

Val × Love Season 2: Release Date

The fans have already waited for one and a half years. But it seems like they still have to wait again for the same amount of time. The chances are that Hoods Entertainment could begin the development of the anime’s second season by the end of this year. Light Novel Compared To The Anime!

The inaugural installment of the anime followed the light novel very closely. But it still skipped a lot of content and worldbuilding details while compressing it into a twelve-episode series. The manga adaptation of the LN series also did the same in its chapters. But most of the fans think that the anime adaptation is better than the manga. The great thing about the anime is that it didn’t rely only on the harem tropes and developed a solid romantic progression in the debut season.

Monster Musume no Oishashan’s pacing was also good, and the storyline doesn’t feel rushed at all. The anime adapts one volume per four episodes. Hence, its twelfth and last episode ended corresponding to the last chapter of Volume 3 of the LN series. So far, the author has a released a total of nine volumes. Now, the second season of the anime will start at the beginning of the fourth book. Thus, Arvo Animation still has a lot of content to use in Monster Girl Doctor Season 2. They can even make two more installments of this show with the remaining source material.

Fans will soon see the conclusion of the story that has been running for the past five years. MGD light novel series has a total of nine volumes so far. Therefore, now they have nothing to use in Komatta Jii-San Season 2. Hence, now it is likely that the anime won’t get a renewal for the second season due to low popularity and lack of source material. 

Komatta Jii-San Season 2: Release Date

The chances for the sequel to happen are very less. Now, the only hope lies is that the production studio somehow gets enough source material to make a new season.
