  • Manga Delayed Due To Paper Shortages: Is the Pandemic to Blame? Which Manga Are On Break?

    While we did know that we are in a global pandemic, the world is also facing a paper shortage and manga releases are getting delayed. And as expected, this shortage is causing difficulties in the manga industry. Paper has been integral to the publishing of manga. Despite the entrance of digital reading platforms, the demand for reader print dampened only slightly. So it does cause a little bit of trouble for manga readers across the world when paper shortage causes delays in publishing. So, until there are more economical ways of reading manga, let’s learn everything there is to know about this issue.

    A French Manga Publishing Company released a statement that they would delay releasing two manga series by a month. These series’ were supposed to be in the market by April, but now fans will have to wait till May for those volumes. These series are “MoMo: The Blood Taker” and “Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?” This release was a part of the company’s 10th-anniversary celebrations. The delay is because the paper rolls of the correct size will not be able to reach the printers on time for an April Release.

    The manga titles that are delayed are very interesting. “MoMo: The Blood Taker” is a mystery thriller manga series. In Tokyo, several cases are happening where people are dying. However, their bodies don’t have any blood. Mikogami Keigo is a detective. The story follows him on his investigation. The next manga being delayed is, “Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?” which is a Boys Love Manga Series. Kiyoshi Adachi is a 30-year-old office salaryman. He has managed to be a virgin till now. And because of this, he gained a superpower. He can read the thoughts of other people when he touches them. What happens when he finds out that his colleague has a romantic interest in him? The story follows Adachi and his adventures.

    The Kaze company is based in Paris, of which, Crunchyroll EMEA currently owns the company and its functions. This is, in turn, a subsidiary of Sony’s Joint Venture with Funimation into the anime industry. The company also produces French translations for Japanese works. And the company has become one of the largest independent manga publishers in Europe. In 2005, the company even tried to enter the music industry. They launched a music label for J-Pop. The company publishes its works in Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, and Austria as well. They are facing a delay in the release of their manga.

    Although there is a delay with printing these manga volumes, the company believes that the second volume will be a smooth release. The second volumes are to be out in June. The paper shortage was primarily due to logistical problems because of the pandemic. There were issues in storage, transportation, and shipping. Industries across Europe have reported a paper shortage. Although it is true that once the pandemic passes, or even by the time the next wave passes, everything will return to normal, it is important to remember that paper is a non-renewable product.     What Is The Movie About?

    The series happens in a world that has quirks. At some point in time, people of the world began to get superhuman powers. However, there are some people who are born without these quirks. The main character of the series is a boy without quirks. His name is Midoriya Izuku. Midoriya, however, really wanted to become a Hero. His role model is the greatest of all heroes, All Might. Just as he is about to give up on his dream, All Might finds him. The superhero decides to take Midoriya as his pupil and pass him his quirk. The story follows Midoriya trying to fulfill his dream.

    In this OVA, Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugou, and Fumikage Tokoyami are preparing for their mission together. This mission is with Hawks and Endeavour. Fans are expecting Hawkes to be important here because of the title. While we can’t really tell what the plot will be, there is bound to be exciting action. Moreover, from the photos released, we can see that the characters appear to be tense and nervous. Fans are also wondering if things will get serious even in an OVA.

The episodes that will be available are “Episode of Alabasta” and “Episode of Chopper”. These specials are actually compilation films of the respective arcs. Both the episode teasers have Japanese Audio, so it might be only the English Sbbbed versions that are released. However, the English Dub fans are hoping for positive news.

    Monkey D. Luffy is the main character of the show. He accidentally ate the demon fruit, and his body gained rubber properties. The boy is a huge fan of a famous pirate, Shanks. And inspired by his idol, Luffy creates his own crew. The crew is the Straw Hat Pirates. They then set off on a long quest to find a treasure, One Piece. The greatest pirate of all time had hidden this treasure. And whoever found it would become the King of Pirates. The story follows the main character as he makes friends, builds his crew, and goes on long adventures for the One Piece.

    The “Episode of Alabasta” is a compilation film about the Alabasta Arc from the anime series. In this arc, the Straw Hat Pirates are in Alabasta. It is a desert country that is in the middle of a revolution. However, this revolution turns out to be a plot by Crocodile, who is trying to have a coup against the ruler, Cobra. The story follows the crew that joins hands with a desert princess to cross the desert, save people and defeat Crocodile. Similarly, the “Episode of Chopper” is a compilation film. The plot here is that Nami falls ill. In order to treat her, the Straw Hat Pirates go to Drum Island, where more adventures follow.

  • 12-Year-Old Boy From India Dies Trying An Anime Stunt!

    In a shocking accident, a 12-year-old boy died trying to copy an anime stunt. In Canal Circular Road’s peaceful and posh neighborhood in India, the boy fell from the roof of an apartment building of eleven floors. Of late, with an increase in parents’ working hours, there is an increase in access to unsupervised internet for young children. There is a risk of unfriendly content, harmful websites, and a lack of safety warnings that endanger the lives of children.

    While the anime culture has been fairly popular worldwide, it is also not rare to see questions being raised about its negative impacts on people, especially children. In 2016, a 12-year-old boy injured himself in the spine trying to imitate Junji Ito’s manga series “Uzumaki“. Similarly, in 2013, a boy accidentally burned two of his friends by setting them alight trying to copy a Chinese cartoon. On February 5, 2022, he allegedly tried to imitate an unnamed anime series. He was on the roof of his eleven-story apartment building, and he fell from there. Around 7 pm that evening, some people found him unconscious by the pool. They rushed him immediately to a private medical hospital nearby. However, it was already too late for the young bo.

    Upon the first examination, they concluded that he had died because of the fall. There were several injuries to the body. According to the police, the initial investigation suggests that, since the boy was hooked on an anime series, he was possibly trying to imitate the main characters.     The 12-year-old boy left no suicide note. It also seems well known that the boy was an anime fan. He was also watching an anime series on his phone moments before the accident. While the police have not revealed which particular anime series he was trying to copy, they have assured that the lack of a note means that the fall was accidental.

    They have also revealed they are waiting for the boy’s family to get over the intense shock before they begin their questioning and go by the procedure. The family has also said that the boy was behaving normally. The police have also discovered that all the security locks all the rooftops at 6 pm in the evening. So they will try to find out when the boy went to the roof as well. For this, they are enlisting the help of CCTV footage. This incident has shocked the Indian community. Some people online are wondering if the genre should come under stricter censorship norms. While that may not be such a good idea, perhaps supervised access to anime series is much more manageable.

However, the series’ creator, Atsushi Okubo, posted a tweet on January 25, 2022, stating that he has submitted the final chapter of his work to the publishers. So, it could very well be true that the series would end in 3 more chapters.

    How Will The Manga End?

    The story happens in the year 198 of the Tokyo Solar Era. Two hundred fifty years before the manga series, there was a huge disaster that burned away most of the Earth. The Tokyo Empire is one of the few spots where people can still live. However, the people start burning away out of the blue. These kinds of incidents keep increasing in number. And the Fire Force tries to come to their rescue. The story follows the main character, Shinra Kusakabe. He can burn his feet at will. Slowly he comes to know more about his path and his supposedly dead family.

    Currently, the series is in its twenty-third arc, which is the ‘Great Cataclysm Arc.’ The world is about to end and the flames of Adella are burning through the Earth. The Fire Force, or the last left of it, decides to help the citizens and protect them as much as possible. On the one hand, the Infernal Doppelgangers attack the Fire Force. And on the other hand, the Dragon is a danger to people. Vulcan and Arthur start preparing for a duel with the Dragon. The results of this duel will decide the fate of the world.     Shogakukan filed charges against a company in Tokyo and its employee for uploading screenshots of the manga Kengan Omega. The Prefecture Police arrested the employee who had viewed chapters 60 and 62 on Manga ONE. They then took screenshots and published them on their spoiler website. The manga spoiler website’s name was “Manga-ru ~Muryō Manga Kansō Netabareview,” which means “Manga-ru ~Free Manga Impressions and SpoilerReviews.” The publishing company first requested the site to be shut down. Then they went on to ask for the identity of the site maintainers.
