Pumpkin Night has been releasing one chapter every two weeks. This has been the release pattern of the series for years. However, it now looks like meeting the deadlines has become almost impossible. The makers said that they are “on thin ice” regarding the production of this popular manga. Even though the story of Hokazono is running ahead, this break will give Kurebayashi more than enough time to catch up with the remaining story after chapter 53. The story of the manga revolves around a girl named Akemi Nakatani. She learns that an account with the name “Pumpkin Night” is following her on social media. The manga kicks off when she receives a threatening message just before getting killed. During the murder, she was on a phone call with her friend. Her friend is a boy named Kazuya Makino. Readers find out that he is going to be the next target of Pumpkin Night.
We ultimately find out that the real person behind the mask of this mysterious account is a girl named Naoko Kirino. While growing up, she faced terrible bullying and now wants to take revenge on all her bullies. It’s a mysterious story of a girl bullied from childhood and who escaped from a mental institution to take revenge on her bullies.

To put it straight, the makers have not revealed a definite release date for the next chapter yet. However, they did announce that Pumpkin Night will be returning from its hiatus after two months.
