  • Record Of Ragnarok Season 3 Coming Soon! Check The Release Date

Record of Ragnarok is a ground-breaking anime that has brought intense fight sequences and a never-ending saga of survival to life. However, it’s been almost a year since fans last saw their favorite heroes and gods on their screens, making them wonder about the fate of Record of Ragnarok Season 3. Will the third season ever return? The anime has received mixed reviews from the audience as well as the critics. That has made many wonder whether Netflix will ever return with its Original Net Animation (ONA). However, there are plenty of reasons for season 3 to return. Let’s delve into them.

Based on the impressively popular manga series, Record of Ragnarok follows the battle between Gods and Humans. Every once in a millennium, the God’s Council assembles to decide Humanity’s fate. After carefully observing the humans’ deeds, the gods decide to extinct them. However, the Valkyrie Brunhilde proposes a plan to stop this menace. According to her proposal, the council would give Humanity one last chance if humans proved their worth by beating the gods in seven out of thirteen matches.

Record Of Ragnarok Season 3: Is It Renewed?

The excitement among the fans is palpable since they last saw the second season of Record of Ragnarok. There’s no denying that the battle portrayal was epic. Despite that, neither Netflix nor the studio house has announced Record Of Ragnarok Season 3. It’s been a year since we last witnessed the battle to save Humanity, and now it seems fans have to wait a little longer. That’s because the second season was renewed a month after the first season hit the streaming platform.

    Netflix

This has also led fans to believe that Record of Ragnarok Season 3 might not arrive. Netflix typically takes a couple of months to announce its decision. Since it had already announced Season 2 just a month after the pilot season’s release, fans hoped the same for the third season. But it never happened. Many believed the source of the material could be the reason behind the delay.

However, it remains unclear when Netflix will announce its decision. But don’t fret! The anime hasn’t yet been canceled. In fact, it gained momentum just after Round 4 of the battle between gods and humans. Thus, considering this, we can expect the streaming giant to make an official announcement soon.

Chances Of Record Of Ragnarok Season 3 Are High

Although Netflix hasn’t renewed the series for the third season yet, the chances of Record Of Ragnarok Season 3 are quite high. The second season received a better reception than the first season. While the pilot season garnered 70% positive ratings, the second season earned 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Because of such a hike in the ratings, there is no doubt that Netflix should return with the third season. However, the change in the entertainment industry standard might be the reason for the delay.

The entertainment industry is taking precise measures due to rising costs and changes in viewership graphs. This might be why Netflix will consider all the possible potentials before renewing Record of Ragnarok for the third season. Besides this, the anime is improving with each season. The first season began dramatically, as Rounds 1-2 felt like a slideshow or mid-tier motion comic. However, things eventually changed from Round 3 as the animation became more detailed.

In addition, for the second season, Yumeta Company’s studio joined Graphinica to animate the second run. This team-up brought CGI to the picture; nobody could forget the Hercules Vs. Jack the Ripper fight. It was a pure joy, and there’s no denying that the anime has undergone several improvements so far. Since Round 6 was more detail-oriented, it is expected to have the same impact on Record Of Ragnarok Season 3’s animation. Thus, there’s a high chance for season 3.

Record Of Ragnarok Season 3: Production Status

As of now, there’s no official news suggesting Record of Ragnarok Season 3 has undergone production. However, production takes almost 12 to 18 months to conclude. The filming process might be lengthy when we are talking about Record of Ragnarok. That’s because the anime also uses CGI elements, and working on CGI won’t be that easy. Plus, the heavy action-packed sequence could also impact the production time.

As we have mentioned, the anime is improving with each season. So, there’s a possibility that the third season will bring more dramatic and realistic animation. This will take time to finish production. Considering this, we can expect that the Record of Ragnarok Season 3 production will extend beyond two years. As for the studios, Netflix has yet to confirm who will produce the series now. However, since the first two seasons were produced by Graphinica, the studio house will undoubtedly return.

Record Of Ragnarok Season 3 what are the netflix plans
    Netflix

Besides this, the studio’s official website suggests it’s still working on Record Of Ragnarok Season 3. Graphinica was founded in April 2009; since then, it has dropped several hit series. Some of them include Juni Taisen: Zodiac War, Tokyo Mew Mew New, Muv-Luv Alternative, and more. As for Yumeta Company, it was founded in 1990 but became a part of Graphinica in 2009. Since Yumeta Company is a part of Graphinica Studio, we can expect the two to return to produce the anime.

If it happens, the entire staff will return for the third season. Masao Okubo will return to the directing seat, with Kazauyuki Fudeyasu as the series composer. Yasuhary Takanashi will join as the music composer, and Masaki Saito will be the character designer. Yuka Yamada will return to write scripts alongside Fudeyasu.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

Record of Ragnarok is a Japanese manga series written by Takumi Fukui and Shinya Umemura and illustrated by Azychika. It started serializing in Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017 and moved to Viz Media in June 2021. As of March 2024, the manga has twenty-one tankobon volumes. The first two seasons covered up to Round 6 of the intense battle, and four more rounds are left to be covered.

However, one thing to keep in mind is that the anime covers three intense rounds each season. That means Season 3 of Record of Ragnarok will cover Rounds 7, 8, and 9. The latest chapters have already covered Round 10 and teased the competitors and the stage where they would battle. So, considering this, there’s ample source material left to cover in the third season.

Record Of Ragnarok Season 3: What To Expect Next?

With Buddha’s victory in Round 6, the entire momentum shifted to Humanity’s side. This definitely makes the next round more exciting, leaving fans to count on who will win at the end. Will humans be able to save Humanity? Well, the next rounds have yet to announce their winner. However, the second season’s conclusion did hint at what will come next in Record Of Ragnarok Season 3. It teases that the King of the Underworld, Hades, will fight for the gods.

In his opposite, Brunhilde will select Qin Shi Huang, the King of the Beginning. The clash will be epic since the two share different ideologies and have quite a big ego. The two mighty kings will go beyond their powers to win the round, creating chaos in the entire Colosseum of Valhall. Without further giving the spoilers of Round 7, let’s begin with Round 8. It will bring none other than Nikola Tesla, Humanity’s One and Only Sorcerer, to the picture. He will fight against the Lord of the Flies, Beelzebub.

Tesla’s thunderous blitz will undoubtedly leave the stadium electrified, but it might also mark his end. Will he die? Only time will tell! Moving to Round 9 will bring the mightiest rebel, King Leonidas, into the picture. He will face the Greek God Apollo, which will surely be a legendary battle between the two. The results will reveal who will get the upper hand in the war between Gods and Humans. With every season, fights have become more dramatic, and now fans can’t wait to see how things will be played off in Record Of Ragnarok Season 3.

Record Of Ragnarok Season 3: Cast Details

Since the anime focuses on the ensemble cast, we can expect all of the characters in the Record of Ragnarok to return. But it’s quite tricky to guess which character will remain the center of attention. As we have already mentioned the three-round fighters, we can expect them to be back. These include:

    • Brunhilde – Miyuki Sawashiro (Japanese), Laura Post (English)
    • Qin Shi Huang – Kaito Ishikawa (Japanese), Cory Yee (English)
    • Hades – Ryotaro Okiayu (Japanese), J. Michael Tatum (English)
    • Beelzebub – Daisuke Namikawa (Japanese), Brandon Mclnnis (English)
    • Odin – Show Hayami (Japanese), Bill Butts (English)
    • Souji Okita – Tsubasa Yonaga (Japanese0, Alejandro Saab (English)

Nikola Tesla, Leonidas, and Apollo will also return. However, their voice actors’ names have yet to be announced. Some new faces can also appear in the next season. However, Netflix has yet to announce that.

But is it on the cards? You’ll be surprised to learn that Netflix already has plans for its highly-anticipated follow-up season. It’s been only a few months since Netflix dropped the spinoff series of its original animated series, Castlevania. But fans can’t get the fantastic scenes out of their mind. With the hype around the sophomore run, let’s see what we know about season 2 of Castlevania: Nocturne.

The animated series is an adaptation of the 1993 Konami video game Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and its sequel Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It follows Richter Belmont, the descendant of Trevor Belmont, who goes on a quest to remove night creatures and vampires. However, with the power-greedy vampires and the French Revolution in play, things become challenging for Richter to deal with. With Richter on a mission to make the world peaceful for humans, will he be able to deal with the bloodsucking monsters? Let’s see!

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2: Renewed Or Not?

Castlevania is undoubtedly the biggest-ever production. Since the video game was launched back in the 80s, it has been abuzz. With Trevor Belomont’s Castlevania running for four seasons till 2021, fans received a surprise with a spinoff series announcement. However, it’s been almost ten months since we last saw Richter Belmont fighting against the vampires. Now, fans are curious to see whether their favorite protagonist will hit the screen again. And what if we tell you he will?

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 Topped Ranking Countries
Netflix Global Top Ten Chart/ Castlevania: Nocturne topped in 41 countries

Yes, you read that right! Netflix already has plans for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2. Just after the series hit our screen, the giant streaming platform surprised its audience with a season 2 announcement. Well, there’s no brainer as to why the series received a sophomore run. Shortly after its first season, the series received positive ratings from the fans as well as the critics. It garnered 96% on Rotten Tomatoes; on IMDb, it earned 7.4 out of 10.

In addition, the animated series remained on the Global Top 10 TV (English) for almost two weeks and in almost 41 countries, including the Bahamas, Bulgaria, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and more. There, the series ruled the charts for more than a week. Thus, there’s no doubt why Netflix decided to renew the series just after a month of its debut.

    Official Announcement

There’s no denying that Castlevania: Nocturne surprised its fans with its epic battle scene. While fans wished for more, Netflix dropped an official announcement trailer teasing Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2. It quickly took fans by storm, as nobody had ever thought the streaming giant would make such a quick announcement.

That’s because Netflix typically takes a couple of months or more to review the series, and based on its reception and watch hours, the streaming giant makes its decision. But this was a totally different case with the Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2. The streaming giant shared an announcement video featuring some unfinished art of the characters. While the trailer didn’t give much information about the next season, it did hint at who would return.

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2: Production Status

Netflix has not only renewed Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, but the series is also in production. The streaming giant dropped an announcement clip, which featured some rough artwork. It quickly left fans believing that the series was already under development. If it does, we expect that the second season will have reached its halfway to completion. That’s because the animated series generally takes a year or more to wrap up production.

When it comes to Castlevania: Nocturne, it is believed that the production will last between 12 and 18 months. That’s because the pilot season took almost the same time to finish production. But one thing to remember here is that if some issues behind the scenes arise at the studio house, then the predicted timeline will be extended. Still, we can expect that the series will soon undergo the post-production stage.

    First Trailer Is Out

Netflix’s official Geeked X account released the first teaser trailer of Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2. The trailer focuses on the return of the vampire hunter Richter Belmont, who will fight against supernatural forces. The brief teaser shows the rise of supernatural forces and how Belmont struggles to eliminate them. While the theme suggests the second season will turn darker, a cryptic voiceover hints at an impending greater evil.

The teaser trailer also features some new characters and ominous landscapes. It shows that tension will be higher as Belmont struggles to fight against the new evil vampire. In addition, the new trailer hints at some vampire confrontations and intense magic and battle. Will Belmont win against the evil vampires?

Which Studio Will Produce The Show?

As soon as Netflix announced the second season, it clearly revealed that Powerhouse Animation would return as the production studio. The studio house was founded in April 2001 in Austin, Texas. While the studio has created several 2D animation projects, it has developed multiple digital and animation projects over time. The animation house is solely responsible for the biggest hit parent series, Castlevania. It has also created several hit animation series like Blood of Zeus, Skull Island, Seis Manos, and Masters of the Universe.

Powerhouse Animation is currently working on Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which will hit the screens this year (2024). Since the studio house has been working on its upcoming project as well as its past project spinoffs, Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 might face some delay. However, we will update you on that. Besides the animation studio, Clive Bradley and Kevin Kolde will return as the series showrunners. Sam and Adam Deats will serve as the series director.

    Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2: Plot

Season 1 of Castlevania: Nocturne took us back to 1783 when we were introduced to young Richter Belmont and his mother, Julia. After the French Revolution took place, Julia decided to run away with her son from France to safer ground. However, the 250-year-old vampire Olrox killed Julia before she could flee in front of Richter. In a tragic event, Olrox spared Richter’s life but warned him that he would return once the young boy would be grown up.

However, this made Richter hate the vampires more. Throughout the series, the vampire hunter and his fellow revolutionaries fight against the aristocrats and blood-thirsty vampires. But he had bigger problems to face in the future, including the vampire messiah Erzsebet. She had planned to block the sun forever with her spells. As her power grew stronger in the first season’s finale, it would become challenging for Richter to deal with Erzsebet.

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 plot news updates
    Netflix

While it remains unclear what story arc Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 will follow, fans can expect a showdown between Richter and Erzsebet. The vampire hunter will do his best to kill Erzsebet, and with Alucard by his side, things will definitely change for the better. However, we shouldn’t forget that the Vampire Messiah’s power is rising, which means she can turn the table anytime. Besides this, Tera’s story arc will also play a significant role in the second season. She has now turned into a vampire. So, seeing how things will work for her will be interesting.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

Of course, yes! The series is based on the video game Castlevania, which was launched in 1986 and released many new games until 2014. The franchise has a total of 30 games at present. With Castlevania: Nocturne being an adaptation of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, we expect the second run to delve deeper into Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. Given that there is ample source material left to explore, we can expect that the animated series can run for four or more seasons.

    Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2: Cast

Although the official announcement trailer didn’t reveal anything about the Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 cast, co-showrunner Kolde revealed that fans’ favorite characters would return. These are:

    • Richter Belmont – Edward Bluemel
    • Annette – Thuso Mbedu
    • Maria Renard – Pixie Davies
    • Tera – Nastassja Kinski
    • Edouard – Sydney James Harcourt
    • Erzsebet Báthory – Franka Potente
    • Olrox – Zahn McClarnon
    • Mizrak – Aaron Neil

The first season saw the demise of many prominent characters. Despite that, Sam, Adam Deats, and Kevin Kolde shared that fans could get more of Alucard (James Callis) and Juste Belmont (Iain Glen). Not only this, but the co-showrunner also suggested that Dracula could make his return. There’s a talk about the greatest villain of all time, and Klode thinks it will be right to bring back Dracula. If he returns for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, then Graham McTavish will definitely return to voice the villain.

    Is Castlevania: Nocturne Worth Watching?

There’s no denying that Castlevania: Nocturne is an absolute must-watch series. Even critics say that, too. However, the series received a bittersweet reception on Reddit. No doubt, many fans liked the series and even praised its work. However, some remained disappointed as the series only partially adapted Rondo of Blood. It did give justice to the video game, but multiple original storylines made things complicated for avid game lovers.

A Reddit user shared that Nocturne’s first season was epic. It did remarkable work, just like its parent series. However, it only shares 50% of the storyline of the Rondo of Blood. Thus, Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 is required to give justice to the series. Meanwhile, another user said, “This series is a worthy successor that has incredible potential.” The series has undoubtedly established its own universe, and it can go to three or more seasons. However, many still believe that the narration team could have done better.

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2: Release Date

As we mentioned above, the series is currently in the development stage, but it won’t take much time to return to our screens. The official website of Powerhouse Animation Studios hints that they are currently animating Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2. While it’s a good sign, the political issues behind the scenes can push the series’ release date.

After an incredible first season, fans don’t have to wait for Delicious In Dungeon Season 2. That’s because Netflix has decided to surprise its audience with heartfelt news. But it wasn’t the case with the Delicious In Dungeon, and soon after its debut, the series broke all the records. Does that mean Season 2 of Delicious In Dungeon is on the cards? Will it hit the screens quite early? Let’s find out!

Delicious In Dungeon is an adaptation of a Japanese manga by Ryoko Kui. It is set in a fictional world of dungeon exploration where the adventuring parties are set to raid the dungeon in the hope of finding the mysterious Golden Kingdom. Likewise, a group of adventurers set to raid and kill a red dragon. However, their unsuccessful attempt led them to lose the leader’s sister, Falin Touden. So, in order to find her back, group leader Laios Touden and his group members set on a mysterious mission to kill all the monsters and save Falin.

Delicious In Dungeon Season 2: Official Renewal Announcement

There’s no denying that Delicious In Dungeon was an incredibly standout anime. From the beginning, the series has captivated its fans’ hearts. And that’s why Netflix didn’t delay to announce its decision. Just after its successful six-month run, Netflix made a surprising yet pleasant announcement. The streaming giant renewed Delicious In Dungeon for Season 2. The brilliant news came just after the first season wrapped up its airing. The official X account of the anime soon dropped a key visual and a teaser trailer, announcing Delicious In Dungeon Season 2.

While the post quickly went viral, the teaser trailer didn’t give much detail about the following season. It also shared glimpses of the first season, featuring some of the best of Laios and his troupe moment. However, the trailer ends on a thrilling note where Laios and his friends stand against Thistle, the lunatic magician, and an army of dragons. With things remaining under wrap, Delicious In Dungeon Season 2 will definitely give its fans some more interesting storylines to tune into.

Besides that, the anime won the viewers’ hearts and received positive ratings from the critics and the audience. Delicious In Dungeon garnered 7.9 out of 10 on IMDb, while on Rotten Tomatoes, the series earned a 100% positive response. Thus, it’s a no-brainer why Netflix returned with Delicious In Dungeon Season 2.

Delicious In Dungeon Season 2: Production Status

Just after Netflix announced the second season, Studio Trigger, the production house behind the anime, took to X to share the much-needed update. The studio confirmed that Delicious In Dungeon Season 2 was currently in production. That means Studio Trigger has been working on the anime since its first season was on air. Not only this, but the studio house has also shared that the second season will be released in two cours (12 episodes in each block).

That means Season 2 of Delicious In Dungeon will follow the same timeline and run for six or more months. Although the studio house has announced that the series is in production, it remains unclear how long it will take to return to our screens. Considering that Studio Trigger takes almost a year to wrap up the production, we can expect that the anime will enter post-production soon.

Who Will Produce Delicious In Dungeon Season 2?

Studio Trigger is set to return to animate the series. The Japanese animation studio was founded in 2011 by Gainax employees Hiroyuki Imaishi and Masahiko Otsuka. Since then, the studio has created several hit animes, including BNA: Brand New Animal, Little Witch Academia, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Kill la Kill. However, Studio Trigger’s Seven Deadly Sins and Record of Ragnarok damaged the company’s reputation, leaving fans disappointed with their work.

With Delicious In Dungeon, the company has finally regained its status. So, fans are excited to see what new the studio house will bring to their table in Delicious In Dungeon Season 2. Although the official website of Studio Trigger suggests that it’s working on the sophomore run, it also suggests that it’s working on another new project, New Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt. So, considering Studio Trigger’s busy schedule, Danjon Meshi Season 2 will take more time than we think.

    Netflix

In addition, Yoshihiro Miyajima will return as the series director, Yasunori Mitsuda and Shunsuke Tsuchiya will be the composers, and Kimiko Ueno will be the anime’s scriptwriter. While little information about the staff details is available, we will update you shortly after the official announcement.

Delicious In Dungeon Season 2: Plot Details

The first run ended on a hopeful note. After defeating Gargoyles, Laios and his friends discovered they could save Falin. All they needed to do was separate her from the dragon and eat its remains to stop them from reattaching Falin. While it could take them ages to achieve their goal, Laios seemed optimistic. Delicious In Dungeon Season 2 will pick the pace from where it left off. Laios will map a plan to seek the help of the other adventurers and islanders to execute their plan.

While he is sure he and his party can save Falin, other threats are still looming. The announcement trailer hinted that Laios and his party have yet to free the Winged Lion. So, the team will soon enter the dungeon to save the Winged Lion. But it won’t be easy as Thistle, the lunatic magician, and an army of dragons will be waiting for them. This will undoubtedly create a panic situation for the adventurers as they have no clue how to deal with them.

    Netflix

Since anime has remained true to its source material, it will undoubtedly cover the epic showdown. Besides this battle, Kabru and Namari will be tasked to warn the elf government’s secret police force, Canaries. The duo will inform the Canaries about the changes in the dungeon. As the first season hinted that the dungeon is expanding, it will definitely lead to the introduction of more new monsters. That will indeed create problems for the islanders. So now, Canaries are tasked to stop this menace before things go out of control.

Dungeon Meshi Season 2: Cast Details

As of now, the official news hasn’t yet revealed much about the series’ cast. However, since the main characters are set to return, we can expect that their voice actors will return as well. These include:

    • Laios Touden – Kentaro Kumagai (Japanese), Damien Haas (English)
    • Marcille Donato – Sayaka Senbongi (Japanese), Emily Rudd (English)
    • Chilchuck Tims – Asuna Tomari (Japanese), Casey Mongillo (English)
    • Senshi – Hiroshi Naka (Japanese), Sung Won Cho (English)
    • Izutsumi – Mitsuho Kanbe (Japanese), Laura Stahl (English)
    • Falin Touden – Saori Hayami (Japanese), Lisa Reimold (English)
    • Kabru – Wataru Kotah (Japanese), Cedric Williams (English)

While Delicious In Dungeon Season 2 is expected to bring more monsters to the table, their voice actors have yet to be revealed. However, the Winged Lion will be voiced by none other than the anime’s narrator, Satoshi Mikami.

Will There Be More Delicious In Dungeon Seasons?

Delicious In Dungeon Season 2 cast details pictures
    Netflix

It doesn’t seem like though. That’s because the anime is an adaptation of Ryoko Kui’s manga series, which has 14 volumes in total and covers 97 chapters. As we know, the first season covered 52 chapters of the eight volumes. There isn’t room for more seasons. The series has already gone halfway. Danjon Meshi Season 2 is expected to cover half of the manga in its run. If the series follows the same pattern as the first season, then season 2 will cover two chapters per episode. This shows there isn’t enough source material left to return with Delicious In Dungeon Season 3.

Danjon Meshi or Dungeon Meshi was serialized from February 2014 to September 2023 in Enterbrain’s seinen manga magazine. While the manga is undoubtedly one of its kind, it broke all the records last year. As of March 2024, the Dungeon Meshi has 14 million copies in circulation. That means the anime’s great work on Netflix’s ground has increased the manga’s sales. While the manga has seen a hike in its sales, anime’s blockbuster performance has no match.

Delicious In Dungeon ended with the eighth volume of the source material. Within its debut, the series became the most-watched anime on Netflix. Dungeon Meshi also remained in Netflix’s Global Top Ten for 15 weeks in Taiwan, 8 weeks in Thailand, 10 weeks in Hong Kong, and 5 weeks in Japan. The series also remained in the top ten in Martinique, Reunion, and Vietnam for a week. Besides this, the series has earned 11,900,000 watch hours globally. That means it earned 7,700,000 total views. Thus, there’s no denying that the series is highly popular.

Delicious In Dungeon Season 2: Release Date Updates

Delicious In Dungeon Season 2 updates on release date
    Netflix

As we have mentioned before, Dungeon Meshi Season 2 is currently in production. Typically, production takes a year or more to complete. If we consider the animation work started earlier this year, then it could have reached halfway. If that’s the case, we can expect Delicious In Dungeon Season 2 release date of middle of 2025. However, we will update you. Till then, stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

With such an incredible performance, Zom 100 Season 2 announcement is highly likely, especially since the series received many awards for its narration and direction.

Despite receiving such an incredible rating from the audience and critics, Zom 100 Season 2 fate remains in jeopardy. But typically, anime takes a few months or more to announce its renewal. This might be the same with Zom 100. So, we believe that the studio house will return with an amazing announcement soon.

Chances Of Zom 100 Season 2

Although there’s no confirmation about Zom 100 Season 2, fans are pretty much sure that the series will return. That’s because of its fantastic performance. The anime even gave justice to its source material, leaving fans to wonder whether they can see more of Akira. However, Bug Films, the studio house behind the pilot season, can be responsible for the anime’s cancelation. Well, that’s because the first season met with significant setbacks.

    Crunchyroll

The series experienced many delays. In the beginning, the delay was due to broadcasting issues, which left fans waiting for the series’ debut. However, as the anime progressed, it saw many delay-related problems from Bug Films’ end. While fans remained patient with the series, as its portrayal was top-notch, such a behind-the-scenes issue can create challenges for Zom 100 Season 2’s return. As of now, nothing is confirmed. But there are chances that the anime can return with a sophomore run as it hasn’t yet been canceled, hinting anything can happen in the future.

Which Studio Will Produce Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead Season 2?

Bug Films produced the first season. Well, the studio is known for its exceptional creations. It has even created plenty of remarkable animes so far. Some of them include The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Apothecary Diaries, Pokemon Horizons: The Series, Spy Classroom, Shin Chan, Komi Can’t Communicate, and Summer Time Rendering. There’s no denying that all the anime hit the world by storm. However, the majority of the series didn’t receive their sophomore run. Thus, fans wondered whether their favorite Zom 100 Season 2 would ever return.

While Bug Films is known for creating splendid work, it has crafted several astonishing anime, and there’s no denying that. However, scheduling issues can create problems for the studio house. Although nothing is confirmed at this moment, there’s a chance that another studio house might return to produce Zom 100 Season 2. Well, that’s because of the inner challenges the studio house has faced. Further, since Apothecary Diaries has received a season 2, Bug Films might be busy producing the series.

So, the busy schedule might have created complications for the studio as well as the anime. As of now, nothing is known. We will surely update you as soon as we receive the official announcement. But if Bug Films returns to produce Zom 100 Season 2, Kazuki Kawagoe and Hanako Ueda will also return to direct the series. Hiroshi Seko will serve as the scriptwriter, Makoto Miyazaki will be the music composer, and Kii Tanaka and Junpei Fukuchi will return as the characters and zombie designers.

Zom 100 Season 2: What To Expect Next?

The first season’s finale was a bit emotional as it focused on Higurashi’s jealousy toward Akira. While Higurashi held grudges against Akira, the former soon learned the importance of friendship. He later sacrificed himself to save Akira and the rest of the survivors. After the zombie bit Higurashi, Akira and his group attempted to escape the village. However, the bridge connecting the village and a canyon was broken. Fortunately, Kumano built a bridge on time.

But it wasn’t much help. So, the team worked to build another bridge on time. Zombies were rushing in their direction. The team managed to capture them in the tunnel, giving them ample time to work on their bridge. The finale ended with Akira and his group working on constructing the bridge. Now, Zom 100 Season 2 can pick up from where it left off. Akira and his group will indeed manage to escape the village. Amid such a situation, Akira will also learn that his father isn’t infected and instead has hemorrhoids.

This discovery will help them with their upcoming challenges. However, after learning this, Akira might head back to rescue his dad. It can create complications between Akira and his group members. As the show progresses, it will also focus on the survivor’s goal. They are determined to escape the village and explore new opportunities. But will Akira join them after learning about his father’s condition? Only time will tell!

    Is There Enough Source Material?

Haro Aso wrote Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, which Kotaro Takata illustrated. The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Denge manga magazine since October 2018. As of June 2024, the anime has collected 17 tankobon volumes. Since the series is ongoing, there’s ample source material to develop Zom 100 Season 2. But one thing to remember is that the first season of anime has covered up to volume 7, chapter 22.

Since almost ten extra volumes are available, it won’t be challenging for the studio to return with Zom 100 Season 2. We expect the sophomore run to cover seven volumes, just like its previous season. If this is the case, more source material won’t be left to return with the third season. In that case, the studio house might have to wait until more chapters are available to cover. Zom 100 could also return with a feature film to give justice to the source material. As of now, nothing is confirmed. But we will update you.

    Crunchyroll

Since the anime isn’t announced for the second season, it remains unclear who will return. But there won’t be Zom 100 without Akira Tendo and his survivor group. So, considering this, we can expect that all the first-season characters who managed to survive will return to season 2. These include:

    • Akira Tendo – Shuichiro Umeda (Japanese), Zeno Robinson (English)
    • Shizuka Mikazuki – Tomori Kusunoki (Japanese), Abby Trott (English)
    • Kenichiro Ryuzaki – Makoto Furukawa (Japanese), Xander Mobus (English)
    • Beatrix Amerhauser – Minami Takahashi (Japanese), Laura Post (English)
    • Akiko Tendo – Yuuko Sasaki (Japanese), Jill Remez (English)
    • Teruo Tendo – Hiroyuki Kinoshita (Japanese), Rick Zieff (English)
    • Mikio Kousaka – Shuhei Sakaguchi (Japanese), Keith Silverstein (English)
    • Sumire Kousaka – Sara Matsumoto (Japanese), Jennifer Sun Bell (English)

If the anime stays faithful to its source material, many new characters will be introduced in Zom 100 Season 2. That’s because as the story progresses, Akira and his group encounter more new survivors and antagonists. Lambda and Android Chef might join the successive season. Although nothing is confirmed at this moment, the chances of a new face arriving are quite high.

Is It Worth Watching Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead?

Well, the anime did receive a positive reception from the audience. Some even called it a profound and entertaining zombie comedy anime series. It blends perfectly with humor and a thought-provoking message about life. Many even said Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is masterfully created with amazing cinematography and direction. Some on Reddit called the series unique and solid entertainment. However, the series received a mixed reception, as few stopped watching because of the broadcast delay.

All in all, the series has won many fans’ hearts. A user on Reddit said, “It’s FUN for zombie topic. I like it.” Another said, “It feels like there is a background theme of not letting societal pressures dictate your happiness, which I personally appreciate. I’d say it is one of my top five shows of this season and highly recommend it. 10/10 for me!” Thus, there’s no brainer as to why people are looking for Zom 100 Season 2.

Zom 100 Season 2 Release Date

Since the series hasn’t been announced yet, it’s quite hard to guess when it will return. But considering the anime takes a few months to receive a green light, we hope it will undergo production later this year. If so, Zom 100 Season 2 will be released in late 2025 or early 2026. It is just a tentative date; as of now, anything can happen. But don’t fret! We will keep updating you. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

It was 2018, and the Japan national team only made it to the 16th position in the FIFA World Cup. So, to make it to the final, the Japan Football Union hired Ego Jinpachi, the football enigma, who had some brutal and intense training plans for the players. He believed those passing the Blue Lock training regime could become the greatest strikers ever. But the training regime isn’t as easy as it sounds. Will the players make it to the end? Let’s see!

Blue Lock Season 2 Is Officially Renewed!

Just after the first season wrapped up airing, fans received the most delightful news. Blue Lock Season 2 is officially happening! Yes, you read that right. Following the huge success of the pilot season, the creator didn’t take the time to announce the second season. The studio’s official page on X, formerly known as Twitter, announced in March 2023 that the series would return for another season. Isn’t it exciting?

Well, there’s no brainer in that, as the series received the highest rating ever within the first week of its debut. Blue Lock received 8.2 solid stars on IMDb, and on MyAnimeList, the series garnered 8.3 stars. Not only this, but the series also broke all the records in Rotten Tomatoes. It earned a solid 88 percent from the critics and audience. Thus, there’s no denying that the series has a huge fanbase, and getting an early renewal was just a piece of cake for the anime.

    Key Visual Is Out!

While it’s been a year since the series made the official announcement, fans were finally delighted by the second season’s key visual. In May 2024, Crunchyroll made the most needed announcement. The studio dropped the first key visual of Blue Lock Season 2, which featured plenty of first-season characters. The poster featured footballers such as Yoichi Isagi, Seishiro Nagi, Meguru Bachira, and Rin Itoshi.

Well, it doesn’t end here! The key visual also focuses on the second selection players, such as Nijiro Nanase, Eita Otaya, Kenyu Yukimiya, Sae Itoshi, Yo Hiori, and Ryusei Shido. Along with them, two more characters make their way to Blue Lock Season 2. These are Yo Hiori and Nanase Nijiro. By the looks of it, it seems like the sophomore run will indeed get intense as the characters appear in their higher selves and become passionate enough to become master strikers.

Blue Lock Season 2: Official Trailer Hints At Massive Showdown

The official account of Blue Lock finally dropped the first teaser trailer of Blue Lock Season 2 on July 6, 2024. The clip started with the speech of the General Director of the Blue Lock Project, Ego Jinpachi. He addressed the 35 remaining strikers of the project, reminding them of the intensity of the project and the upcoming match against the U-20 Japan National Team. The entire session is intense and personal; if they lose it, it will cost them the Blue Lock Project. So, the strikers have to showcase their strength and win the tournament at any cost.

As for Yoichi Isagi, he showcases an incredible strength exuding his ego. He needs to showcase his strength to the world while playing against the U-20 Japan National Team. It’s the perfect chance for him. However, the trailer hints that the situation will intensify as the defender will aim to stop the strikers at any cost. The teaser trailer also features Oliver Aiku, the captain of the U-20 Japan National Team.

Blue Lock Season 2: Production Status

Since the release date of Blue Lock Season 2 has already been announced, there’s no denying that the show has finished most of its animation work. The second season is likely in its final stage of production. Well, the series was announced way back in early 2023. Typically, the animation work takes almost a year and a half to finish its production. Considering the release window is nearing, the series would have been in post-production.

    Will Studio Eight Bit Return?

Studio Eight Bit Co. Ltd surprised fans after announcing the launch of the popular manga series Blue Lock. The animation was incredible, and fans of all demos loved the narration and graphics. Eight Bit was established in September 2008 and, in 2020, partnered with Bandai Namco to create multiple anime productions. Their debut venture was The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime.

Besides, 8-Bit has many brilliant anime projects under its belt, such as Encouragement of Climb, Busou Shinki, Comet Lucifer, and Shy. While Studio Eight Bit hasn’t yet confirmed whether it will return with Blue Lock Season 2, the reports suggest the studio has solely produced the second season of Blue Lock. Not only did it produce the second run, but it has also produced Blue Lock’s feature film, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

You can breathe a sigh of relief! That’s because there is enough source material left to explore. The series is based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s manga series, illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It began serializing on August 1, 2018, in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. As of now, the manga series has a total number of 29 volumes available online. Speaking of the Blue Lock anime, it has covered almost 11 volumes. While the first season has covered quite a lot of volumes, it roughly marked 90 chapters.

But no need to fret! This is because there are almost 18 volumes left to explore in the next season. Since the series has covered 11 volumes so far, we can expect it to cover the same in Blue Lock Season 2. Also, the series is currently ongoing, which means more volumes are yet to come. So, Blue Lock can return up to more seasons. Not only this, but Kodansha returned with a spin-off manga focusing on Seishiro Nagi, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi. The spin-off manga has four tankobon volumes so far, and it’s also ongoing, so expect more to come in the future.

Blue Lock Season 2: What Will Happen Next?

The pilot season began with the Introduction arc, where the mastermind, Ego Jinpachi, invited 300 of Japan’s Under-20 strikers for a rigorous training regime. The season quickly created an environment for the talented forwards to compete against each other to make it to the finals. While each episode focused on the elimination round and the search for the strongest players, Blue Lock Season 2 promises to intensify.

Season 2 will indeed focus on the electrifying showdown where the brothers will set against each other. Rin Itoshi will face his older brother, Sae Itoshi, for the Japan U-20 team. Blue Lock Season 2 will intensely focus on the U-20 arc, featuring the intense battle where the top 35 players will compete to form a team of eleven. So they can compete with the Under-20 team. However, it doesn’t end here. Ego has some wilder plans, which might put more pressure on the strikers. Ego plans to test the player’s abilities by broadcasting the tournament on an international level. Interesting? Things will get way more wilder in the second run.

Blue Lock Season 2: Cast Details

There’s no denying that the first season cast will return for Blue Lock Season 2. These are:

    • Yoichi Isagi – Kazuki Ura (Japanese), Ricco Fajardo (English)

Reports suggest two additional cast members will join the series. Eiji Mikami will join as Yo Hiori and Kakeru Hatano will join as Nanase Nijiro. They are up-and-coming seiyuu in the anime.

Blue Lock has a separate fanbase; the credit goes to its manga. By November 2023, the manga had over 30 million copies in circulation. It eventually became the best-selling manga series in history. Not only this, but the series also won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category. As for the anime, Blue Lock received love from fans of all demos. Some Reddit users also shared that the series was better than Kuroko and Haikyuu, while others compared it to Ao Ashi.

Another user wrote: “Ao Ashi is more of a realistic slow burn with small payoffs later, whereas Blue Lock is hype every episode despite being unrealistic and pays off massively with its mini-arcs. I personally enjoyed Blue Lock more than Ao Ashi because it never stopped being boring, but both are good.”

There’s More, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi

If you love Blue Lock, you will definitely enjoy its spin-off movie, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi. Rather than focusing on Yoichi Isagi, the series focuses on his teammate Nagi Seishiro, offering a fresh perspective on his side of the story. The film focuses on Nagi’s experience and struggles during the Blue Lock program. While the feature film was released in Japan on April 19, North American watchers can enjoy it on June 28. However, it remains unclear when the movie will get its international release.

Blue Lock Season 2: Release Date

The wait is over now! Crunchyroll finally announced that Blue Lock Season 2 would be released in October 2024. As per the latest X/Twitter announcement post, the sophomore run will air on October 5, 2024, at 11:30 pm JST. It will return with 14 episodes on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Prime Video. • Will Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 Return In 2025?

Anime enthusiasts have waited for Frieren to return since they last saw the pilot season. However, it looks like the wait will be longer than expected. That’s because Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 has hit a pause button. Don’t worry! The series hasn’t been shelved. There’s a possibility that it will take more time to return to our screens. No doubt, the anime is a highly-anticipated one, as it won many people’s hearts with its stellar visuals and brilliant narration. However, some behind-the-scenes issues can create challenges for the anime. Curious to know what it is? Then, keep reading.

Based on the manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. The manga started serialized in April 2020 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine. So far, the series has 13 Tankobon volumes and won the 14th Manga Taisho Award. More credits are under the manga’s belt: the 25th annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize’s New Creator Prize in 2021, the 48th Kodansha Manga Award (2024), and the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award (2024).

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Is It Renewed?

Since the pilot season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End concluded on March 22, 2024, fans have been eager to see more of their favorite characters back on screen. Well, there’s no denying that the series received praise from the audience as well as the critics. That’s because it enchants anime lovers with its gripping narration and animation. However, it seems like fans have to wait a little longer to find out Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 release date. That’s because the series has yet to be announced for the next season.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 release date
    Crunchyroll

However, that doesn’t mean that it’s the end of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Although the series hasn’t received season 2 yet, some optimistic hints suggest the anime will return. After the finale ended, the anime dropped a hint about the potential Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2. The ending of the finale featured a text reading: “The journey to End continues.” The anime’s official X/Twitter account shared the same message just after the finale, hinting the second season will return.

Thus, it’s safe to say that the second season has secretly been renewed. As for the official announcement, typically, the studio house announces the next season a couple of months later. However, since time has already passed, we can expect that Studio Madhouse and Crunchyroll will announce Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 release date sooner, perhaps in the fall of 2024.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Manga Is On Break

While many await when the streaming platform will announce Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, we have bad news for you. The manga is on hiatus. There’s no denying that fans’ expectations of the anime series and manga are quite high because of its stellar visuals. Sadly, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga is among the many manga that are currently on break for Golden Week. Not only is the manga on break, but the official announcement also shared that the break will be indefinite. That means this can create problems for the sequel of the anime series.

Since the anime is an adaptation of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, we smell bad news for the anime as well. But it isn’t the first time when the manga has gone on hiatus. Ever since the Golden Land arc, the manga series has repeatedly gone on hiatus numerous times. The series even went on break for two months at the beginning of the Goddess’ Monument arc. Since they have never announced a return date, we expect the same for this time as well. So, let’s just wait till the official announcement is made.

    Reason Behind The Hiatus

Although the mangaka Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe have not announced the real reason behind this break, we believe taxing schedules and demands should be blamed. Well, taxing schedules and demands have been quite common in weekly manga serialization for years. This could be the reason behind the break. However, many believe that this break might affect the series’ popularity. That’s because it has recently gained a new height. There’s no denying that the series has gained worldwide popularity, but we believe this break will only help his growth, giving the illustrator more time to return with stellar visuals.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Production Status

As of now, nothing has been known about the series’ production status, nor has it been announced when Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 will come out. However, you don’t need to fret. Considering the “continuation” text, we expect the anime to have already undergone filming. This isn’t a rare thing in the anime world. It happens often, and we expect the same with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. As for the production status, the pilot season took almost a year to conclude production. So we expect the same with Season 2.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 production status
    Crunchyroll

But again, there’s bad news. The manga is currently on hiatus, which can greatly affect the production status of the series. Since the anime has been faithful to its source material, the animation work might extend because of this undefined break. Further, neither the studio nor the streaming platform has announced whether the series has entered production. But if the series had secretly been produced, it might have reached halfway. However, nothing is confirmed at this moment.

    Will Madhouse Return?

Studio Madhouse is the production house behind the pilot season, and it did incredible work adapting the source material. So, undoubtedly, fans are expecting it to return for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 as well. The studio is known for its remarkable work, and its creation has not matched. However, the studio house hasn’t yet revealed about its potential project. The official website of Studio Madhouse doesn’t hint at whether it will return to animate Season 2. But we believe it will return as a part of its deal.

It’s a Japanese animation studio founded by the former Mushi Pro staff in 1972. Since then, it has dropped several A-list TV animes, films, and OVAs. Studio Madhouse is known for various exceptional animes like Wicked City, Black Lagoon, Death Note, One-Punch Man, Hunter X Hunter, and Overlord. While it’s highly possible that Studio Madhouse will return for season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, it’s currently busy.

    Crunchyroll

The studio is currently working on upcoming animes, Trillion Game (set to be released in October 2024) and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (will be released in 2024). Considering this, the studio house may start working on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 sometime in the fall of 2024. It might undergo production sometime in 2025.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Plot Details

The pilot season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End covered the first seven volumes of the original source material. Well, as mentioned above, the series is an adaptation of a manga series. The anime has already covered the first four story arcs—however, there is no need to fret. At the time of writing, 13 volumes have already been published. That means there’s enough source material to be covered. However, one thing to note here is that the first season covered seven volumes.

So, it’s expected that Madhouse will cover the rest of the seven volumes in the second season. If that’s the case, then there isn’t sufficient material to be covered in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 unless Madhouse returns with a shorter season. Now, if we head to the second season’s story arc, Frieren and her team’s adventure was delayed due to mage exams. However, in the end, Fern received her First Class Mage certificate, and Frieren was banned.

Despite that, the party is ready to resume their journey. So, the second season will begin with their journey. The entire team will head to the Northern Kingdoms. But it holds the greatest danger, and they need to be more careful as they step into the demon-riddled lands. Can they make it safely? Only time will tell. If you are curious to know, you can check the manga from Volume 8.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Cast Details

Frieren Season 2 has yet to be confirmed. But it doesn’t mean that the anime series won’t return. The pilot season has already announced that the story will continue. So, if the series returns, then the entire core characters and cast will return as well. These include:

As mentioned above, the second season hasn’t been officially announced yet. Thus, it remains unclear when the series will return. But if we consider Studio Madhouse working on two brand new animes, the second season will likely not return this year. Further, the manga is on break. If Studio Madhouse waits for the 14th volume to return before starting production, it will start the production work sometime in 2025. All in all, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 will be released sometime in 2026. This is all for now. The Anime Daily will keep you updated.

However, it remains unclear how Maomao will deal with the greatest-ever discovery of the previous season’s finale. Will things turn dark in her life? Let’s find out!

Based on a Japanese light novel by Natsu Hyuga, illustrated by Touko Shino, The Apothecary Diaries is set in a fictional country during the Tang Dynasty. It focuses on a young girl, Maomao, who was sold to the Imperial Palace as a servant. However, with her knowledge of apothecary, she managed to solve the greatest mystery behind the emperor’s children and concubines’ critical illness. This soon made her the center of attention, grabbing the attention of an influential eunuch who later recruited Maomao to solve the royal court’s mysteries.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 Is Officially Renewed!

Just after the first season of The Apothecary Diaries concluded, fans were delighted with a pleasant surprise. The anime’s official X, formerly known as Twitter, account confirmed The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 is happening. The social media account shared an announcement teaser trailer along with a key visual featuring the main characters, Maomao and Jinshi.  This quickly left the fans on their toes. That’s because they had been waiting for the official announcement as soon as the first season wrapped up.

Well, it’s a no-brainer that the series is fantastic. Its first season has broken all the records, becoming one of the most-watched animes so far. Further, its popularity has boosted one episode after another. The Apothecary Diaries garnered a solid 8.6 stars on IMDb and 8.9 on MyAnimeList. Thus, there’s no denying why the studio house has decided to return with another season. In addition, the light novel’s illustrator Touko Shino shared a celebratory illustration. The illustration featured Jinshi, Maomao, a cat, and two other characters.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2: Production Status

Following the second season’s renewal, the fans were delighted with another surprising news. The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 underwent production as soon as the series was announced. It not only left the fans on their toes but also gave them another reason to celebrate. The anime is just a beauty of art, and it has been proven in every episode. However, some remained confused as the staff decided to announce the production status just after the series’ conclusion instead of announcing it at Anime Japan 2024, which was held in the same week.

Despite this, fans are excited to see their favorite series returning on their series. Production typically takes a year or two to conclude animation. However, with The Apothecary Diaries, things are different. The first season was announced in February 2023 and was later aired in October 2023. That means the production took only six to seven months to wrap up. Considering this, we can expect that the anime production has already reached its halfway point. However, the studio house has recently revealed that the production might take more time to conclude, considering The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 release date.

    Who Will Produce The Series?

The first season was produced by Toho Animation Studio and OLM, a Japanese animation studio founded in 1990. OLM was founded by former Studio Gallop and OB Planning employees. Since the studio house was established, it has created several A-list animes, films, and other works. The studio house is famous for producing the Pokemon anime series. It has also produced Berserk, To Heart, Dragon Collection, Beyblade Burst, Komi Can’t Communicate, Summer Time Rendering, and Dungeon People.

The studio house is currently busy with other projects, such as Let’s Play, Dungeon People, I Parry Everything: What Do You Mean I’m the Strongest?, Himitsu no AiPri, and Tonbo! However, despite its busy schedule, the studio house will return to animate The Apothecary Diaries Season 2. In addition to the studio, Norihiro Naganuma will return as director and scriptwriter. Akinori Fudesaka will return as the assistant director, and Yukiko Nakatani will be the character designer. Alisa Okehazama, Kevin Penkin, and Satoru Kosaki will compose the music.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2: What To Expect Next?

The first season’s finale was a rollercoaster ride for Maomao and Jinshi. Maomao learned about her biological father, Lakan, who tried his best to win her affection. However, every attempt he made went in vain, creating problems between him and Maomao. On the other hand, she found herself dealing with another mystery involving his father. He ran away with one of the courtesans, creating panic in the Imperial Palace. While Maomao knew Lakan was behind all the problems, she decided to keep mum. However, Lakan and the courtesan developed a sentimental moment during their time on the run.

At the end of the finale, Jinshi returned to Maomao with another case, which will be explored in The Apothecary Diaries Season 2. As Jinshi requested, Maomao must assist with Consort Gyokuyou’s pregnancy. She should make sure that the consort remains safe during the entire process. Since the situation relates to an imperial consort being pregnant, things should remain in secrecy. That’s because maneuvering and backstabbing are common in the rare palace. While Maomao deals with the pregnancy drama, Jinshi finds himself in another challenging situation.

According to the light novel’s official synopsis, Jinshi will find himself in a tough situation when a pair of visiting ambassadors make a strange request. Despite his attempts, things won’t work, according to Jinshi, creating more tension between him and the ambassadors. Later, he will be invited to a faraway place for an important gathering. However, things don’t look great here. It seems like Jinshi will find himself in a dangerous situation. This time, Maomao won’t be there to help him as she will be busy dealing with the consort matter, and threats lurk around every corner.

The anime is an adaptation of a light novel series written by Natsu Hyuga and illustrated by Touko Shino. It started serializing in Shufunotomo in August 2014 and is currently ongoing. As of March 2024, the LN has a total of 15 volumes. So far, TV anime has only covered the first two volumes of the light novel, suggesting 13 more volumes are left to be explored. Considering this, ample source material is left to explore in The Apothecary Diaries Season 2. Since the LN is ongoing, we expect that The Apothecary Diaries can lead to more than two seasons.

    Official Trailer!

During the Crunchyroll industry panel at Anime Expo 2024, the streaming platform surprised its fans with a brilliant announcement. The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 dropped its first trailer, which is only a minute long. That features Maomao and Jinshi in grave danger. Things have turned dramatic for the protagonist as another mystery surfaces, leaving the imperial palace on the verge of breaking. The teaser trailer also hints at many characters who might be involved in the looming threat.

As the trailer proceeds, Maomao says, “If my predictions are correct, this is a plan that was concocted over a long period of time.” While nothing is known about The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, it shows something related to a murder mystery with someone influential in the Imperial Palace. Further, the teaser trailer hints that the murder mystery is surrounding a rare flower, which might be poisonous, and a key evidence of this mystery. Can Maomao deal with it? Only time will tell.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2: Release Date

While the anime was announced back in March 2024, Crunchyroll confirmed that season 2 would return earlier than possible. On July 6, Crunchyroll announced at Anime Expo 2024 that The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 would be released in 2025, although the streaming network hasn’t yet revealed an official release date. Considering the series only takes eight to nine months to wrap up production, we can expect that it will return in the first half of 2025. In addition, the streaming platform confirmed that when the second season returns in 2025, it will be available to stream on Crunchyroll. This is all for now. The Anime Daily will keep you updated.

  • Made In Abyss Season 3 Will Not Return This Year, Here’s Why

Following a disturbing second season of Made In Abyss, the anime enthusiasts were left heartbroken after saying goodbye to humanity. However, as the series protagonist Riko and her group head to explore the next layer of the Abyss, fans couldn’t wait to see what happens next in Made In Abyss Season 3. Will it bring plenty of trouble down the road? Speculation has been running wild, and many believe the next run will bring more suffering. But it’s been a couple of years since the second season wrapped up. So, the question arises: Will there be Season 3 of Made In Abyss? Let’s find out!

Based on a Japanese manga series, Made In Abyss features the mystery surrounding the giant hole descending deep into the earth. While this Abyss holds greater mystery and challenges, Riko, an orphaned girl, decides to explore all the layers. She has heard stories from the White Whistles, the legendary Cave Raiders who had returned from the lowest regions of the Abyss. Among them was Riko’s mother, Lyza, who was presumed dead after she reached the “last descent” of the Abyss. However, the big question arises: Can Riko return? Especially since the Abyss bears a dangerous curse known as “the Curse of the Abyss.”

Made In Abyss Season 3 Is Officially Renewed!

Since Made In Abyss Season 2 concluded in September 2022, fans have been patiently waiting for the sequel of their favorite anime series. There’s no denying that the anime was a blockbuster hit as soon as it hit the screen. Interestingly, anime enthusiasts don’t have to wait that long now. Following the conclusion of the sophomore run, the production team announced that Made In Abyss Season 3 was happening. That’s right! The third season is on the cards. In a special event in Japan on January 15, 2023, the anime staff revealed the plans for the third season.

It confirmed that the third season, Golden City of Scorching Sun, had been greenlit. This has already sparked excitement among series fans. It’s a no-brainer why the production house has renewed the anime for another season. The anime was awarded Anime of the Year and Best Score at the 2nd Crunchyroll Anime Awards just after its debut, and the first season also won the 25th Spanish Manga Barcelona award in the Best Anime category. Meanwhile, the second season received nominations in several categories in the 7th Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

But Is There Enough Source Material?

While the anime received another season, fans are concerned about whether enough source material is left to be covered. Made In Abyss is an adaptation of the manga series written and illustrated by Akihiko Tsukushi. Although the series has been ongoing in Takeshobo’s Web Comic Gamma since 2012, it has 66 chapters collected in 12 tankobon volumes. The Volume 12 was published in Japan on July 31, 2023. It’s been a year since the manga is on hiatus. Thus, it remains unclear whether there is ample source material.

That is because, so far, the anime has covered up to Chapter 61. Since a total of 66 chapters are available at this moment, it doesn’t seem like there is enough source material. Made In Abyss Season 3 can only cover Chapters 61-66. That means the anime can return with only three episodes. The shortening of source material might be the main reason behind the delay in production. So fans have to wait until the mangaka returns with another volume.

Made In Abyss Season 3: Production Status

Just after the production committee announced that the anime is available for the third season, it confirmed that Made In Abyss Season 3 is in production. Although this is good news, the series won’t undergo production, at least now. As we have mentioned before, the source material isn’t sufficient. The lack of source material can create problems in the production process. That’s because the studio needs at least twenty or twenty-nine chapters to produce a full-fledged season.

    Made In Abyss Season 3
    Crunchyroll

Typically, Made in Abyss drops 12 episodes per season. The second season, Made in Abyss: The Golden City of Scorching Sun, was adapted from chapters 39-60, covering a total of 21 chapters. Meanwhile, the pilot season adapted up to 26 chapters. That’s not all! Made In Abyss returned with a feature film titled Made In Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, which covered chapters 26-38. Thus, considering this, there is a lack of source material to return with Made In Abyss Season 3 production. But we expect that the problem will be resolved soon.

    Will Kinema Citrus Return?

Since Made In Abyss was announced, Kinema Citrus has been the sole production company behind the series. The Japanese animation studio house was founded in March 2008, and since then, it has dropped several stellar animes, films, and OVAs. Some of its exceptional works include The Rising of the Shield Hero, Black Bullet, and Barakamon. While the series has returned with the first two seasons of Made In Abyss, it will likely return for Made In Abyss Season 3.

However, the production won’t start sooner. As we have mentioned, there isn’t enough source material. Further, the studio house behind the anime typically animates two animes yearly. It’s currently working on Cardfight!! Vanguard Divine Z and The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3. So, considering this, we don’t think that Kinema Citrus will soon start working on Made In Abyss Season 3.

    Crunchyroll

If the studio house returns, then it’s safe to say that the staff members will also return. Masayuki Kojima will return to the directing seat, Hideyuki Kurata will return as the scriptwriter, and Kazuchika Kise will return as the character designer. Meanwhile, Australian artist Kevin Penkin will join the Made In Abyss Season 3 team as the music composer.

Made In Abyss Season 3: What To Expect Next?

The second season was a rollercoaster ride for the characters as well as the fans. Riko and her friends faced several challenges before reaching the sixth layer of the Abyss. It was undoubtedly an emotional moment between the characters as they bonded over their fair share of struggle. While the previous season highlighted the strong bond between the characters, it also hinted that more challenges were aligned on their way. Made In Abyss Season 3 will also bring new characters on the stage.

Now that Riko, Reg, and the rest of the friend circle are heading to enter the next layer of the Abyss, they will face more threats. Meanwhile, they’ll make new friends as they struggle to deal with the looming challenges. The anime has already been covered until Chapter 61, so we expect Made In Abyss Season 3 to explore from Chapter 62. It will focus on some poignant and intriguing elements while taking its fans to the world of Abyss.

    Crunchyroll

Riko and Reg will meet a new character whose storyline will leave them questioning the sanity of nature. It will also bring them closer as they learn more about the nature of the Abyss and how things can work. Meanwhile, fans can expect some emotional moments between Riko and other characters as the group explores the mystery surrounding the Abyss.

Made In Abyss Season 3: Cast Details

Since the anime will return in the third season, we expect the core characters to return. With them, the industry’s top-notch voice artists will also return. These include:

    • Riko – Miyu Tomita (Japanese), Brittany Lauda (English)
    • Reg – Mariya Ise (Japanese), Luci Christian (English)
    • Nanachi – Shiori Izawa (Japanese), Brittney Karbowski (English)
    • Faputa – Misaki Kuno (Japanese), Cat Thomas (English)

However, it remains unclear whether the characters of Belchero Orphanage, Cave Raiders, Ido Front, and Sages of Ganja will return. But if they return for Made In Abyss Season 3, we can expect some prominent faces to make it to the sequel. These include:

    • Mitty – Eri Kitamura (Japanese), Monica Rial (English)
    • Wazukyan – Hiroaki Hirata (Japanese), Brandon Hearnsberger (English)
    • Belaf – Mitsuki Saiga (Japanese), Ry McKeand (English)
    • Vueloeluko – Yuka Terasaki (Japanese), Kristen McGuire (English)
    • Prushka – Inori Minase (Japanese), Avery Smithhart (English)
    • Meinya – Natsuko Hara (Japanese), Juliet Simmons (English)

Is Made In Abyss Worth Watching?

Made In Abyss is among the best-written anime around the globe. Undoubtedly, its plot is original and well-written, as nothing has been seen like this anime before. Further, the wonderfully layered and intriguing narrative has also helped the anime to reach a perfect status. The unique part of the anime is that each character has a diverse background, which helps them deal with the “Curse of the Abyss.” While many call it a fantastic series, the anime has surprised its fans over the years, making it more intriguing for the audience.

Made In Abyss Season 3: Release Date

Kinema Citrus has yet to announce the Made In Abyss Season 3 release date. It’s been a year since the third season was announced. However, neither the production house nor Crunchyroll has announced the release date of Season 3. Since the series has yet to undergo production, which takes at least 12 to 18 months to conclude, we expect the series to take longer to return. It might return in the fall of 2025 if the manga returns with another volume this year. If not, then the chances are high that the series will receive more delay. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

  • My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12: Bakugo’s Fate In Limbo, Will He Die?

My Hero Academia Season 7 opened with a bang. However, the previous episode left fans wondering whether their favorite character, Katsuki Bakugo, will return. He has already seen a lot, and My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12 promises to bring more challenges for pro heroes. Bakugo is severely injured, and Deku and others have no idea about his condition. Does it hint at the direction of Bakugo’s death? Stakes are higher, and fans are curious to see what happens next. So, keep reading!

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12: Mangaka Hints At Bakugo’s Fate

After the horrifying battle scene, Katsuki Bakugo’s fate remains up in the air. He has been an internal part of My Hero Academia. The last episode has already witnessed his personal growth as he decided to compete with Deku healthily. However, Tomura Shigaraki’s counterattack has left fans wondering whether Bakugo will return. To add more tension, the mangaka Kohei Horikoshi shared an illustration of Bakugo on X on July 21. The post features the character in pain and worried expression.

His eyes are colored orange, adding a personal touch of creativity to the illustrator. While fans remain confused about whether he will return in My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12, “Those Who Defend, Those Who Violate,” we have pleasant news for you. Bakugo will return, and the credit will go to Edgeshot. He will use his Quirk to repair Bakugo’s heart and lungs. The tension will rise as the villains rise, but Edgeshot will manage to heal Bakugo. However, it doesn’t seem like our Hero will take part in the upcoming battle. He might be shifted to the Academy’s infirmary room until he recovers.

    A Quick Recap!

The previous episode, My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 11, began with a gruesome battle between Tomura Shigaraki and Katsuki Bakugo’s team of heroes. The final battle against the villains took an epic turn when all the heroes returned to risk their lives to save Japan. Hawks, Mirko, and Endeavor, all the top 10 pro heroes, coalited to stop the villains from creating more havoc. However, UA’s big three students, Tamaki Amajiki, Mirio Togata, and Nejire Hado, were missing. While the gang has made a buzz lately, their absence might affect the final battle.

However, Episode 11 had several great moments that captured the fans’ attention. While the battle was at its peak, that narration shifted to Tomura’s flashback. That finally revealed that Tomura was struggling with the identity crisis. That was because the frightened, vulnerable Tenko Shimua, who still adored pro heroes, was buried under Tomura Shigaraki’s persona. While Tomura’s inner battle continued, his horrific move left fans on edge. Tomura’s counterattack to defeat Bakugo was terrifying as he blasted the pro-hero’s heart, leaving him on the ground in a bloody heap. The episode then ended with rainclouds, hinting at Bakugo’s death.

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12 was slated to air on July 27. However, the anime will be on a week’s break, so no more episodes will air this week. That’s because of the Olympics broadcast. According to the revised release schedule, the upcoming episode will air on August 3, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. JST. The series will return to its original Japanese broadcasting network, Nippon Television. Meanwhile, the international audience can stream it on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Stay tuned. The Anime Daily will keep you updated.
