As previously mentioned, this romantic comedy is an anime adaptation of a manga series. Therefore, it is important for the production studio to have enough source material to create the storyline of the sequel. The serialization of this manga series began in October 2011 and ended in March 2021. Throughout its run of ten years, the author has published a total of 16 volumes. However, CloverWorks managed to compile the content of these 16 volumes in thirteen episodes only. They skipped several arcs of the manga series, including the renowned Valentine’s Day arc.

Horimiya ended on Chapter 122 of the manga series that featured the graduation day of Katagiri Senior High School students. Therefore, now the production studio has nothing left to create Horimiya Season 2. The studio has to create a new storyline or use the remaining chapters to make the plot of the second season. 

Horimiya Season 2: Renewal Status

The debut season of Horimiya got a tremendous response from everyone. Everything about the series, including its storyline, characters, animation, OSTs were perfect. The anime series rose to popularity in no time and became one of the most romantic-comedy anime of all time. It got a lot of compliments from the experts and the otakus all around the world, and hence the ratings of this show were pretty great as well. Studio Tear, who produced the inaugural installment, declared bankruptcy a few months after its release. In December 2019, tear Studio officially filed for bankruptcy with $393,000 in debt, including $73,000 to approximately 50 animators. 

Why The Hell Are You Here, Teacher? Season 2: Renewal Status

The debut season of this ecchi anime got a tremendous response. It wasn’t received very well by the critics for some obvious reasons, but the viewers really enjoyed watching it. At the time of writing, Nande Koko ni Sensei gal has a score of 6.47 on MAL. However, it has more than 250K members in its group on the same platform and is ranked at #681 in popularity. Despite the great response, the anime never returned for a second season because of its production studio.

Fortunately, it still has a lot of source material left, so there is still a little hope left that some other animation studio might come forward and pick up this show. Now, it is kind of impossible for Studio Tear to return, and hence only other production studios can save this show now.
