The animation style and quality are still top-notch, given that it’s still produced by Rooster Teeth.

  • Seven Mortal Sins Review [Spoiler-Free] | The Anime Daily

No, Seven Mortal Sins is not related to A-1 Pictures’ 2014 anime, Seven Deadly Sins! In fact, this ecchi anime series is far away from the standards of the popular franchise. Suiting its genre, the 2017 show is full of lewd outfits and erotic scenes. Well, a major part of its audience watched the series as a hentai anime (with a plot). Hence, if you’re wondering whether to watch it, here’s a Spoiler-Free Seven Mortal Sins Review for your help.

Seven Mortal Sins or Sin: The 7 Deadly Sins an adaptation of Hobby Japan’s media franchise The 7 Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai). Produced by Studio Artland and TNK, the 12-episode anime ran between April and July 2017. Due to its name, this anime is often related to 2014’s successful anime Seven Deadly Sins. However, these two shows (franchises) have nothing to do with each other. While A-1 Pictures’ project is a high-quality adventure and fantasy anime, the other is a low-quality ecchi yuri anime.

When Lucifer, one of God’s archangels, is cast out from heaven, it gets hard for Hell. During a short stopover on Earth, Lucifer infuses her angel’s blood with a human girl named Maria, at her high school’s church. As she falls into the depths of Hell, she becomes the target of the aspiring Demon Lord of Envy, Leviathan. After a gruesome battle against the sins, Lucifer’s angelic powers are sealed, and her wings are cut off. She manages to return to Earth and takes Maria as her follower to help her get revenge against the sins.

Is ‘Seven Mortal Sins’ Worth The Watch?

Artland and TNK’s ambitious project scored a low number on almost all rating platforms. Critic reviews were harsh, whereas the audience had mixed opinions about the show. Yet, the anime has a massive following even after years of its release. So, is Seven Mortal Sins worth watching?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGkpYZdUt8E

    Reason(s) To Watch

Well, the only positive trait of this 2017 anime is that it’s a treat for ecchi and/or yuri fans. It is mainly targeted toward the followers of this genre and serves them well until the very end. Some argue that the series can actually be pursued as softcore porn. Seven Mortal Sins is full of sexual elements from extreme nudity, ridiculously oversized breasts, several erotic scenes, animated SM, and strong sexual assault.

While many people are fond of ecchi anime, Seven Mortal Sins adds fantasy and thrill to the genre. Hence, keeping aside its faults, the anime will be a good watch for fans looking for a hot and sexual show.

Reasons To SKIP ‘Seven Mortal Sins’

Aside from its ecchi features, the story of the anime does not deserve a watch. While the series starts fine, its sexual content and over-the-top presentation get in the way of the plot. The characters have no personalities and do not contribute to the story. Aside from the extravagant breasts and sexual features of the main characters, the anime’s art and animation are average. Overall, there are better ecchi anime available to watch in the market. Hence, it’s better to skip the series if you’re watching it for the plot.

  • God Eater Season 2: Renewal Updates, Release Date, Plot & Everything To Know!

After five years of God Eater’s release, fans have started to lose hope for God Eater Season 2. As of now, anime studio Ufotable is yet to confirm the return of the anime. Similarly, the creator of the God Eater video game, Bandai Namco Entertainment, hasn’t announced the release of another sequel. However, that does not rule out the possibilities of their renewal. In fact, according to speculations, there is still hope for the anime and game both. Here’s some insight into the future of your favorite show.

Bandai Namco Entertainment’s RPG video game, God Eater, debuted on PlayStation Portable back in February 2010. In no time, the sci-fi game became immensely popular amongst Millenials and Gen Z alike. The company later released several sequels and versions of the game. God Eater 2 and 3 were launched in November 2013 and December 2018, respectively. Studio Ufotable picked up the theme for an anime adaptation that premiered midway in July 2015. After its first broadcast, fans began to anticipate a second season of the anime.

    God Eater Season 2

When Will God Eater 4 (Game) Come Out?

None of the companies related to the anime or game production have spoken about the sequels yet. However, that does not mean there won’t be any new installments in the future. God Eater 3 game was released in December 2018 in Japan and in February 2019 for international fans. In March 2020, Bandai Namco Ent. released the final chapter (of God Eater 3) called Traversing The Past (Episode Ein) with an update 2.50. Hence, it hasn’t been long since the completion of the third game.

Based on the game’s history, God Eater 4 (game) might take a few years to return. Most of its previous sequels were released with a gap of two or more years. Besides, such high-quality games (or versions) usually require more time to make. Thus, it’s only fair for the fourth part to launch sometime around later 2021 or 2022. Yet, the anime sequel might only get a renewal once God Eater 4 is confirmed.

God Eater Season 2 (Anime): Renewal Updates

    Is there any hope?

Indeed, there is. The chances for the return of God Eater Season 2 are pretty decent. The first installment of the anime was a hit amongst audiences from all around the globe. In fact, it also received fairly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Hence, it will be a profitable deal for Ufotable to greenlit God Eater Season 2. Even though fans are losing hope for the new season, it is likely to make an exciting comeback sometime soon.

However, most Japanese anime are released solely to promote their source material. The first season of the God Eater anime helped spike the sales of God Eater Ressurection (2015) and God Eater 3 both. Now that there are no new games releasing, the anime sequel has no purpose of release. Hence, the second season of the television show might come out sometime around the launch of God Eater 4.

    God Eater Season 2

What Will Be The Plot Of The Anime Sequel?

While waiting for the anime, fans have started to speculate about the plot of God Eaters Season 2. Amongst many theories, one of them has been trending amid all fans of the anime and the game. Based on reports, Lenka Utsugi might emerge as the new lead character in the upcoming installment. Now that Lindow has lost his arm while battling Aragami, the story’s focus will shift to Lenka. Yet, Lindow and Shio both are expected to return.

On the other hand, fans might get to see a brand new lead character in God Eater Season 2. While this new character has not been defined, he/she is expected to be the spotlight in the latest episodes. As of now, we can only hope for the anime to get a renewal and follow the said premise. Keep an eye on this corner for all exciting updates related to the iconic franchise.

    God Eater Season 2

When Will God Eater Season 2 Release?

As of now, the producers of the anime are yet to renew the sequel. Therefore, God Eater Season 2 does not have a set date for the premiere. However, as mentioned before, God Eater 4 (game) is likely to come out sometime towards late 2021 or 2022. Thus, the second season of the anime might release a few months before or after the game’s launch. Even so, a 2022 or 2023 release date seems most plausible.

  • SSSS.Gridman Review [Spoiler-Free] | The Anime Daily

Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions have brought back one of the greatest shows of all time. The immensely popular tokusatsu series called Denkou Choujin Gridman has been adapted into an anime series after 25 years. SSSS.Gridman became popular even before it released. After its premiere in 2018, fans of the original series had different reactions towards the adaptation. Hence, if you’re wondering whether to watch this anime or not, here’s a Spoiler-Free SSSS.Gridman Review to help you out.

Denkou Choujin Gridman is tokusatsu series that aired between 1993 and 1994. For those who are not familiar with the word, tokusatsu is a Japanese term for a live-action film or TV drama that makes heavy use of special effects. The 25-year-old series is popular amongst millennials and boomers alike. In fact, it has inspired several Japanese and international projects. The producer of the original series, Studio Trigger, decided to make an anime version of the tokusatsu. The 2018 anime was animated in collaboration with Tsuburaya Productions.

SSSS.Gridman centers around an amnesiac high school student Yūta Hibiki. One day, he wakes up in his classmate’s house, having no memory of his past life. Upon meeting an old computer who refers to himself as Hyper Agent, he sets out to solve the mysteries around him. However, suddenly, the city gets attacked by a giant monster called Kaiju. Yūta then merges with Hyper Agent to become the Gridman, a giant robotic humanoid to save the city.

    Is SSSS.Gridman Worth A Watch?

Studio Trigger was pretty confident about SSSS.Gridman way before it ever released. Well, considering the popularity of the original series, the anime created a buzz around its premiere. While fans of the tokusatsu series weren’t as impressed, the 2018 show managed to gain a fanbase of its own. Even though it is heavily inspired by the 1993 series, the anime was appreciated for having a fresh and creative story.

The first few episodes of the anime are slow and predictable. Yet, the series turned into a better version of itself as it grows. The content of the later episodes is interesting enough to hook viewers until the end. SSSS.Gridman is also nostalgic for many fans of the source material. Moreover, the fight scenes animated by the studios are worth appreciation.

Yet, the anime version of the tokusatsu series had to face criticism for having way too many references to other shows like Ultraman. The 2018 show didn’t have any memorable music or characters. Despite having a great story, SSSS.Gridman didn’t meet the standards of Studio Trigger. Hence, you can skip the show if you want. However, we advise tokusatsu fans and mecha otakus to give it a try.

  • Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Review [Spoiler Free] | The Anime Daily

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card is a nostalgia trip at its best. It brilliantly takes you 20 years back in time when Cardcaptor Sakura used to air. Well, it sure does have its faults, which can be noticed by new viewers, yet it is an entertaining watch. Thus, it’s still hard for many people to decide whether to watch it or not. Hence, here’s a Spoiler-Free Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Review, guiding you through its good and bad aspects.

Cardcaptor Sakura originated as a 1996 manga series by popular manga group Clamp. In 1998, Studio Madhouse picked it up for an anime adaptation that aired for three seasons until March 2000. Years after the manga ended, the Clamp group resumed the franchise with a sequel manga called Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card. Again, Madhouse adapted the 2016 manga into a sequel anime in January 2018.

Reasons To Watch Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card

Well, the biggest and most important reason to watch this anime is for nostalgia. The Clear Card anime is surely a treat for fans of the original anime. It brings back memories with popular characters, animation styles, colors, and storyline. All in all, the sequel anime is nearly as entertaining as the 1998 show. Well, it sure is changed with a modern twist and is made relevant for the new generation. However, it is only valid as the audience that watched the original show has grown with changing technology.

The animation has improved and is beautiful to the eye. Well, being a Madhouse production, the art style had to be iconic, for which the studio is known. The sequel manga by Clamp manga group was critically acclaimed. Hence, the Clear Card Arc also has well-paced writing. While the action scenes were mostly exciting, the anime had strong humor and emotional moments. Overall, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card was a fun ride and deserves a watch.

    What Went Wrong?

The Clear Card Arc started off pretty well, had a tight story, and several interesting developments. Most of its characters remained relatively the same and almost mirrored the ones from the original anime. However, Sakura and Syaoran’s relationship felt a bit underdeveloped, as if it was only present for nostalgia. Moreover, the ending comes off as a means for setting up the second season rather than being a well-constructed story. As of now, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Season 2 is not confirmed, although it’s speculated to return around 2021 or 2022.

On the other hand, the anime might be a little confusing for viewers who missed 1998’s Cardcaptor Sakura. While it is a well-deserved sequel, Clear Card will likely be an average watch for new viewers.

The shoujo anime series centers around Kae Serinuma, a young female otaku. She is obsessed with yaoi, a genre of media featuring homoerotic romantic relationships between male characters. Upon the death of one of her favorite characters (in an anime), she starves herself for a whole week. As a result, Kae, who was initially portrayed as overweight, loses a lot of fat. Now that she’s transformed, many boys from her class are interested in her.

Reasons To Watch Kiss Him, Not Me

    • A Perfect Watch For Shoujo Fans

    • The Characters

Kae’s growth as a character impressed a lot of viewers as they reached the finale. Many people related to her for being a fujoshi (yaoi fan) and an otaku. Even though she had flaws, Kae was mostly likable. Moreover, despite having stereotypical personalities, the four boys, Igarashi, Nanashima, Shinomiya, and Mutsumi, were good characters.

Issues Associated With Kiss Him, Not Me!

A lot of people liked the theme of the show, as it had many unique factors. However, critics and many viewers pointed out that several plotlines of the anime were trouble. The first one was associated with Kae starving herself for a week and losing weight. Reviewers said that this promotes eating disorders and creates body image issues.

On the other hand, people criticized Kae for not standing up for herself. She was always the damsel in distress and was dependant on others to save her or help her. Well, these character traits in the female lead were common in the last decade. However, a 2016 show should do better and address these issues through character development.

Despite having some issues, Kiss Him, Not Me is interesting enough to watch once. It has many fun moments and will keep its viewers entertained until the very end.

    UQ Holder! Manga Review

The UQ Holder! manga has been running for almost seven years now and has released 24 volumes (over 170 chapters) as of November 2020. It started off pretty well and impressed millions of fans of Negima!. It surely is a worthy sequel of the original series. Besides, the manga received relatively high ratings and positive critic reviews. However, readers complained that the quality of its content reduced after around a hundred chapters. A large section of the manga’s fanbase did not like the harem storyline.

Hence, while the first half of the manga was impressive and entertaining, the rest of them have been unsatisfactory. Well, since the series is currently in the run, there’s still hope for its improvement.

    UQ Holder!

UQ Holder! Magister Negi Magi 2 Review

While the UQ Holder! manga received mixed reviews, its anime adaptation was downright disappointing. Studio J.C. Staff attempted to cram in the content of over 100 chapters in a single 12-episode season. This made the story feel rushed and incomplete. Besides, it ended way too fast, and its finale was disheartening. Magister Negi Magi 2 skips most of its source material, which results in poor plot and character developments.

On the other hand, the series is full of all types of fanservice. While it began as an exciting action-fantasy show, UQ Holder! became more of an ecchi and harem anime. Well, if you’re fond of ecchi, then this anime will be a decent watch for you. However, it’ll be better to skip this one for those who’re looking for some good action.
