  • Blue Lock Season 2: Release Date Announced, Check The Details

Rejoice fans! Blue Lock Season 2 will hit your screen sooner rather than later. Yes, you read it right! The studio house has recently made the biggest-ever announcement of this year. Well, there’s no denying that the anime has a huge fanbase. And why not? The anime series is based on the Kodansha Manga Award winner manga series. So, there’s no brainer as to why the audience is so captivated by its storyline. And let us tell you, the sophomore run is only getting intense as the second season will introduce new characters. Who? Keep reading to know that.

Based on the best-selling manga series Blue Lock, the anime is based on the Japanese football national team. It was 2018, and the Japan national team only made it to the 16th position in the FIFA World Cup. So, to make it to the final, the Japan Football Union hired Ego Jinpachi, the football enigma, who had some brutal and intense training plans for the players. He believed those passing the Blue Lock training regime could become the greatest strikers ever. But the training regime isn’t as easy as it sounds. Will the players make it to the end? Let’s see!

Blue Lock Season 2 Is Officially Renewed!

Just after the first season wrapped up airing, fans received the most delightful news. Blue Lock Season 2 is officially happening! Yes, you read that right. Following the huge success of the pilot season, the creator didn’t take the time to announce the second season. The studio’s official page on X, formerly known as Twitter, announced in March 2023 that the series would return for another season. Isn’t it exciting?

Well, there’s no brainer in that, as the series received the highest rating ever within the first week of its debut. Blue Lock received 8.2 solid stars on IMDb, and on MyAnimeList, the series garnered 8.3 stars. Not only this, but the series also broke all the records in Rotten Tomatoes. It earned a solid 88 percent from the critics and audience. Thus, there’s no denying that the series has a huge fanbase, and getting an early renewal was just a piece of cake for the anime.

    Key Visual Is Out!

While it’s been a year since the series made the official announcement, fans were finally delighted by the second season’s key visual. In May 2024, Crunchyroll made the most needed announcement. The studio dropped the first key visual of Blue Lock Season 2, which featured plenty of first-season characters. The poster featured footballers such as Yoichi Isagi, Seishiro Nagi, Meguru Bachira, and Rin Itoshi.

Well, it doesn’t end here! The key visual also focuses on the second selection players, such as Nijiro Nanase, Eita Otaya, Kenyu Yukimiya, Sae Itoshi, Yo Hiori, and Ryusei Shido. Along with them, two more characters make their way to Blue Lock Season 2. These are Yo Hiori and Nanase Nijiro. By the looks of it, it seems like the sophomore run will indeed get intense as the characters appear in their higher selves and become passionate enough to become master strikers.

Blue Lock Season 2: Official Trailer Hints At Massive Showdown

The official account of Blue Lock finally dropped the first teaser trailer of Blue Lock Season 2 on July 6, 2024. The clip started with the speech of the General Director of the Blue Lock Project, Ego Jinpachi. He addressed the 35 remaining strikers of the project, reminding them of the intensity of the project and the upcoming match against the U-20 Japan National Team. The entire session is intense and personal; if they lose it, it will cost them the Blue Lock Project. So, the strikers have to showcase their strength and win the tournament at any cost.

As for Yoichi Isagi, he showcases an incredible strength exuding his ego. He needs to showcase his strength to the world while playing against the U-20 Japan National Team. It’s the perfect chance for him. However, the trailer hints that the situation will intensify as the defender will aim to stop the strikers at any cost. The teaser trailer also features Oliver Aiku, the captain of the U-20 Japan National Team.

Blue Lock Season 2: Production Status

Since the release date of Blue Lock Season 2 has already been announced, there’s no denying that the show has finished most of its animation work. The second season is likely in its final stage of production. Well, the series was announced way back in early 2023. Typically, the animation work takes almost a year and a half to finish its production. Considering the release window is nearing, the series would have been in post-production.

    Will Studio Eight Bit Return?

Studio Eight Bit Co. Ltd surprised fans after announcing the launch of the popular manga series Blue Lock. The animation was incredible, and fans of all demos loved the narration and graphics. Eight Bit was established in September 2008 and, in 2020, partnered with Bandai Namco to create multiple anime productions. Their debut venture was The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime.

Besides, 8-Bit has many brilliant anime projects under its belt, such as Encouragement of Climb, Busou Shinki, Comet Lucifer, and Shy. While Studio Eight Bit hasn’t yet confirmed whether it will return with Blue Lock Season 2, the reports suggest the studio has solely produced the second season of Blue Lock. Not only did it produce the second run, but it has also produced Blue Lock’s feature film, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

You can breathe a sigh of relief! That’s because there is enough source material left to explore. The series is based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s manga series, illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It began serializing on August 1, 2018, in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. As of now, the manga series has a total number of 29 volumes available online. Speaking of the Blue Lock anime, it has covered almost 11 volumes. While the first season has covered quite a lot of volumes, it roughly marked 90 chapters.

But no need to fret! This is because there are almost 18 volumes left to explore in the next season. Since the series has covered 11 volumes so far, we can expect it to cover the same in Blue Lock Season 2. Also, the series is currently ongoing, which means more volumes are yet to come. So, Blue Lock can return up to more seasons. Not only this, but Kodansha returned with a spin-off manga focusing on Seishiro Nagi, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi. The spin-off manga has four tankobon volumes so far, and it’s also ongoing, so expect more to come in the future.

Blue Lock Season 2: What Will Happen Next?

The pilot season began with the Introduction arc, where the mastermind, Ego Jinpachi, invited 300 of Japan’s Under-20 strikers for a rigorous training regime. The season quickly created an environment for the talented forwards to compete against each other to make it to the finals. While each episode focused on the elimination round and the search for the strongest players, Blue Lock Season 2 promises to intensify.

Season 2 will indeed focus on the electrifying showdown where the brothers will set against each other. Rin Itoshi will face his older brother, Sae Itoshi, for the Japan U-20 team. Blue Lock Season 2 will intensely focus on the U-20 arc, featuring the intense battle where the top 35 players will compete to form a team of eleven. So they can compete with the Under-20 team. However, it doesn’t end here. Ego has some wilder plans, which might put more pressure on the strikers. Ego plans to test the player’s abilities by broadcasting the tournament on an international level. Interesting? Things will get way more wilder in the second run.

Blue Lock Season 2: Cast Details

There’s no denying that the first season cast will return for Blue Lock Season 2. These are:

Reports suggest two additional cast members will join the series. Eiji Mikami will join as Yo Hiori and Kakeru Hatano will join as Nanase Nijiro. They are up-and-coming seiyuu in the anime.

Blue Lock has a separate fanbase; the credit goes to its manga. By November 2023, the manga had over 30 million copies in circulation. It eventually became the best-selling manga series in history. Not only this, but the series also won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category. As for the anime, Blue Lock received love from fans of all demos. Some Reddit users also shared that the series was better than Kuroko and Haikyuu, while others compared it to Ao Ashi.

Another user wrote: “Ao Ashi is more of a realistic slow burn with small payoffs later, whereas Blue Lock is hype every episode despite being unrealistic and pays off massively with its mini-arcs. I personally enjoyed Blue Lock more than Ao Ashi because it never stopped being boring, but both are good.”

There’s More, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi

If you love Blue Lock, you will definitely enjoy its spin-off movie, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi. Rather than focusing on Yoichi Isagi, the series focuses on his teammate Nagi Seishiro, offering a fresh perspective on his side of the story. The film focuses on Nagi’s experience and struggles during the Blue Lock program. While the feature film was released in Japan on April 19, North American watchers can enjoy it on June 28. However, it remains unclear when the movie will get its international release.

Blue Lock Season 2: Release Date

The wait is over now! Crunchyroll finally announced that Blue Lock Season 2 would be released in October 2024. As per the latest X/Twitter announcement post, the sophomore run will air on October 5, 2024, at 11:30 pm JST. It will return with 14 episodes on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Prime Video. In addition, the anime committee has released a new trailer of Blue Lock Season 2 that suggests more action to come. It has also revealed season 2’s new music. UNISON SQUARE GARDEN will return with the opening theme song, titled “Boujaku no CHARISMA.” Meanwhile, the boy band Snow Man will perform the ending theme, “One.” This is all for now. • Will Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 Return In 2025?

Anime enthusiasts have waited for Frieren to return since they last saw the pilot season. However, it looks like the wait will be longer than expected. That’s because Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 has hit a pause button. Don’t worry! The series hasn’t been shelved. There’s a possibility that it will take more time to return to our screens. No doubt, the anime is a highly-anticipated one, as it won many people’s hearts with its stellar visuals and brilliant narration. However, some behind-the-scenes issues can create challenges for the anime. Curious to know what it is? Then, keep reading.

Based on the manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. The manga started serialized in April 2020 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine. So far, the series has 13 Tankobon volumes and won the 14th Manga Taisho Award. More credits are under the manga’s belt: the 25th annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize’s New Creator Prize in 2021, the 48th Kodansha Manga Award (2024), and the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award (2024).

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Is It Renewed?

Since the pilot season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End concluded on March 22, 2024, fans have been eager to see more of their favorite characters back on screen. Well, there’s no denying that the series received praise from the audience as well as the critics. That’s because it enchants anime lovers with its gripping narration and animation. However, it seems like fans have to wait a little longer to find out Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 release date. That’s because the series has yet to be announced for the next season.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 release date
    Crunchyroll

However, that doesn’t mean that it’s the end of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Although the series hasn’t received season 2 yet, some optimistic hints suggest the anime will return. After the finale ended, the anime dropped a hint about the potential Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2. The ending of the finale featured a text reading: “The journey to End continues.” The anime’s official X/Twitter account shared the same message just after the finale, hinting the second season will return.

Thus, it’s safe to say that the second season has secretly been renewed. As for the official announcement, typically, the studio house announces the next season a couple of months later. However, since time has already passed, we can expect that Studio Madhouse and Crunchyroll will announce Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 release date sooner, perhaps in the fall of 2024.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Manga Is On Break

While many await when the streaming platform will announce Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, we have bad news for you. The manga is on hiatus. There’s no denying that fans’ expectations of the anime series and manga are quite high because of its stellar visuals. Sadly, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga is among the many manga that are currently on break for Golden Week. Not only is the manga on break, but the official announcement also shared that the break will be indefinite. That means this can create problems for the sequel of the anime series.

Since the anime is an adaptation of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, we smell bad news for the anime as well. But it isn’t the first time when the manga has gone on hiatus. Ever since the Golden Land arc, the manga series has repeatedly gone on hiatus numerous times. The series even went on break for two months at the beginning of the Goddess’ Monument arc. Since they have never announced a return date, we expect the same for this time as well. So, let’s just wait till the official announcement is made.

    Reason Behind The Hiatus

Although the mangaka Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe have not announced the real reason behind this break, we believe taxing schedules and demands should be blamed. Well, taxing schedules and demands have been quite common in weekly manga serialization for years. This could be the reason behind the break. However, many believe that this break might affect the series’ popularity. That’s because it has recently gained a new height. There’s no denying that the series has gained worldwide popularity, but we believe this break will only help his growth, giving the illustrator more time to return with stellar visuals.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Production Status

As of now, nothing has been known about the series’ production status, nor has it been announced when Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 will come out. However, you don’t need to fret. Considering the “continuation” text, we expect the anime to have already undergone filming. This isn’t a rare thing in the anime world. It happens often, and we expect the same with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. As for the production status, the pilot season took almost a year to conclude production. So we expect the same with Season 2.

    Crunchyroll

But again, there’s bad news. The manga is currently on hiatus, which can greatly affect the production status of the series. Since the anime has been faithful to its source material, the animation work might extend because of this undefined break. Further, neither the studio nor the streaming platform has announced whether the series has entered production. But if the series had secretly been produced, it might have reached halfway. However, nothing is confirmed at this moment.

    Will Madhouse Return?

Studio Madhouse is the production house behind the pilot season, and it did incredible work adapting the source material. So, undoubtedly, fans are expecting it to return for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 as well. The studio is known for its remarkable work, and its creation has not matched. However, the studio house hasn’t yet revealed about its potential project. The official website of Studio Madhouse doesn’t hint at whether it will return to animate Season 2. But we believe it will return as a part of its deal.

It’s a Japanese animation studio founded by the former Mushi Pro staff in 1972. Since then, it has dropped several A-list TV animes, films, and OVAs. Studio Madhouse is known for various exceptional animes like Wicked City, Black Lagoon, Death Note, One-Punch Man, Hunter X Hunter, and Overlord. While it’s highly possible that Studio Madhouse will return for season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, it’s currently busy.

    Crunchyroll

The studio is currently working on upcoming animes, Trillion Game (set to be released in October 2024) and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (will be released in 2024). Considering this, the studio house may start working on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 sometime in the fall of 2024. It might undergo production sometime in 2025.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Plot Details

The pilot season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End covered the first seven volumes of the original source material. Well, as mentioned above, the series is an adaptation of a manga series. The anime has already covered the first four story arcs—however, there is no need to fret. At the time of writing, 13 volumes have already been published. That means there’s enough source material to be covered. However, one thing to note here is that the first season covered seven volumes.

So, it’s expected that Madhouse will cover the rest of the seven volumes in the second season. If that’s the case, then there isn’t sufficient material to be covered in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 unless Madhouse returns with a shorter season. Now, if we head to the second season’s story arc, Frieren and her team’s adventure was delayed due to mage exams. However, in the end, Fern received her First Class Mage certificate, and Frieren was banned.

Despite that, the party is ready to resume their journey. So, the second season will begin with their journey. The entire team will head to the Northern Kingdoms. But it holds the greatest danger, and they need to be more careful as they step into the demon-riddled lands. Can they make it safely? Only time will tell. If you are curious to know, you can check the manga from Volume 8.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2: Cast Details

Frieren Season 2 has yet to be confirmed. But it doesn’t mean that the anime series won’t return. The pilot season has already announced that the story will continue. So, if the series returns, then the entire core characters and cast will return as well. These include:

    • Frieren – Astumi Tanezaki (Japanese), Malorie Rodak (English)
    • Stark – Chiaki Kobayashi (Japanese), Jordan Dash Cruz (English)
    • Fern – Kana Ichinise (Japanese), Jill Harris (English)
    • Himmel – Nobuhiko Okamoto (Japanese), Clifford Chapin (English)
    • Flamme – Atsuko Tanaka (Japanese), Lydia Mackay (English)
    • Eisen – Yoji Ueda (Japanese), Christopher Guerrero (English)

As mentioned above, the second season hasn’t been officially announced yet. Thus, it remains unclear when the series will return. But if we consider Studio Madhouse working on two brand new animes, the second season will likely not return this year. Further, the manga is on break. If Studio Madhouse waits for the 14th volume to return before starting production, it will start the production work sometime in 2025. All in all, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 will be released sometime in 2026. This is all for now. The Anime Daily will keep you updated.

  • The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 Release In 2025!

Following the cliffhanger of The Apothecary Diaries’ pilot seasons, fans couldn’t wait to see their favorite protagonist back on screen. Guess what? Crunchyroll has already dropped the much-needed update on The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 release date. That’s right! Avid fans don’t have to wait long to see Maomao and Jinshi back to rock their screen with their twisted mysteries and challenging storyline. However, it remains unclear how Maomao will deal with the greatest-ever discovery of the previous season’s finale. Will things turn dark in her life? Let’s find out!

Based on a Japanese light novel by Natsu Hyuga, illustrated by Touko Shino, The Apothecary Diaries is set in a fictional country during the Tang Dynasty. It focuses on a young girl, Maomao, who was sold to the Imperial Palace as a servant. However, with her knowledge of apothecary, she managed to solve the greatest mystery behind the emperor’s children and concubines’ critical illness. This soon made her the center of attention, grabbing the attention of an influential eunuch who later recruited Maomao to solve the royal court’s mysteries.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 Is Officially Renewed!

Just after the first season of The Apothecary Diaries concluded, fans were delighted with a pleasant surprise. The anime’s official X, formerly known as Twitter, account confirmed The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 is happening. The social media account shared an announcement teaser trailer along with a key visual featuring the main characters, Maomao and Jinshi.  This quickly left the fans on their toes. That’s because they had been waiting for the official announcement as soon as the first season wrapped up.

Well, it’s a no-brainer that the series is fantastic. Its first season has broken all the records, becoming one of the most-watched animes so far. Further, its popularity has boosted one episode after another. The Apothecary Diaries garnered a solid 8.6 stars on IMDb and 8.9 on MyAnimeList. Thus, there’s no denying why the studio house has decided to return with another season. In addition, the light novel’s illustrator Touko Shino shared a celebratory illustration. The illustration featured Jinshi, Maomao, a cat, and two other characters.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2: Production Status

Following the second season’s renewal, the fans were delighted with another surprising news. The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 underwent production as soon as the series was announced. It not only left the fans on their toes but also gave them another reason to celebrate. The anime is just a beauty of art, and it has been proven in every episode. However, some remained confused as the staff decided to announce the production status just after the series’ conclusion instead of announcing it at Anime Japan 2024, which was held in the same week.

Despite this, fans are excited to see their favorite series returning on their series. Production typically takes a year or two to conclude animation. However, with The Apothecary Diaries, things are different. The first season was announced in February 2023 and was later aired in October 2023. That means the production took only six to seven months to wrap up. Considering this, we can expect that the anime production has already reached its halfway point. However, the studio house has recently revealed that the production might take more time to conclude, considering The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 release date.

    Who Will Produce The Series?

    Crunchyroll

The first season was produced by Toho Animation Studio and OLM, a Japanese animation studio founded in 1990. OLM was founded by former Studio Gallop and OB Planning employees. Since the studio house was established, it has created several A-list animes, films, and other works. The studio house is famous for producing the Pokemon anime series. It has also produced Berserk, To Heart, Dragon Collection, Beyblade Burst, Komi Can’t Communicate, Summer Time Rendering, and Dungeon People.

The studio house is currently busy with other projects, such as Let’s Play, Dungeon People, I Parry Everything: What Do You Mean I’m the Strongest?, Himitsu no AiPri, and Tonbo! However, despite its busy schedule, the studio house will return to animate The Apothecary Diaries Season 2. In addition to the studio, Norihiro Naganuma will return as director and scriptwriter. Akinori Fudesaka will return as the assistant director, and Yukiko Nakatani will be the character designer. Alisa Okehazama, Kevin Penkin, and Satoru Kosaki will compose the music.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2: What To Expect Next?

The first season’s finale was a rollercoaster ride for Maomao and Jinshi. Maomao learned about her biological father, Lakan, who tried his best to win her affection. However, every attempt he made went in vain, creating problems between him and Maomao. On the other hand, she found herself dealing with another mystery involving his father. He ran away with one of the courtesans, creating panic in the Imperial Palace. While Maomao knew Lakan was behind all the problems, she decided to keep mum. However, Lakan and the courtesan developed a sentimental moment during their time on the run.

At the end of the finale, Jinshi returned to Maomao with another case, which will be explored in The Apothecary Diaries Season 2. As Jinshi requested, Maomao must assist with Consort Gyokuyou’s pregnancy. She should make sure that the consort remains safe during the entire process. Since the situation relates to an imperial consort being pregnant, things should remain in secrecy. That’s because maneuvering and backstabbing are common in the rare palace. While Maomao deals with the pregnancy drama, Jinshi finds himself in another challenging situation.

According to the light novel’s official synopsis, Jinshi will find himself in a tough situation when a pair of visiting ambassadors make a strange request. Despite his attempts, things won’t work, according to Jinshi, creating more tension between him and the ambassadors. Later, he will be invited to a faraway place for an important gathering. However, things don’t look great here. It seems like Jinshi will find himself in a dangerous situation. This time, Maomao won’t be there to help him as she will be busy dealing with the consort matter, and threats lurk around every corner.

    Official Trailer!

During the Crunchyroll industry panel at Anime Expo 2024, the streaming platform surprised its fans with a brilliant announcement. The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 dropped its first trailer, which is only a minute long. That features Maomao and Jinshi in grave danger. Things have turned dramatic for the protagonist as another mystery surfaces, leaving the imperial palace on the verge of breaking. The teaser trailer also hints at many characters who might be involved in the looming threat.

As the trailer proceeds, Maomao says, “If my predictions are correct, this is a plan that was concocted over a long period of time.” While nothing is known about The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, it shows something related to a murder mystery with someone influential in the Imperial Palace. Further, the teaser trailer hints that the murder mystery is surrounding a rare flower, which might be poisonous, and a key evidence of this mystery. Can Maomao deal with it? Only time will tell.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2: Release Date

On July 6, Crunchyroll announced at Anime Expo 2024 that The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 would be released in 2025, although the streaming network hasn’t yet revealed an official release date. There’s no denying that the anime was a blockbuster hit as soon as it hit the screen. Interestingly, anime enthusiasts don’t have to wait that long now. Following the conclusion of the sophomore run, the production team announced that Made In Abyss Season 3 was happening. That’s right! The third season is on the cards. In a special event in Japan on January 15, 2023, the anime staff revealed the plans for the third season.

It confirmed that the third season, Golden City of Scorching Sun, had been greenlit. This has already sparked excitement among series fans. It’s a no-brainer why the production house has renewed the anime for another season. The anime was awarded Anime of the Year and Best Score at the 2nd Crunchyroll Anime Awards just after its debut, and the first season also won the 25th Spanish Manga Barcelona award in the Best Anime category. Meanwhile, the second season received nominations in several categories in the 7th Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

But Is There Enough Source Material?

While the anime received another season, fans are concerned about whether enough source material is left to be covered. Made In Abyss is an adaptation of the manga series written and illustrated by Akihiko Tsukushi. Although the series has been ongoing in Takeshobo’s Web Comic Gamma since 2012, it has 66 chapters collected in 12 tankobon volumes. The Volume 12 was published in Japan on July 31, 2023. It’s been a year since the manga is on hiatus. Thus, it remains unclear whether there is ample source material.

That is because, so far, the anime has covered up to Chapter 61. Since a total of 66 chapters are available at this moment, it doesn’t seem like there is enough source material. Made In Abyss Season 3 can only cover Chapters 61-66. That means the anime can return with only three episodes. The shortening of source material might be the main reason behind the delay in production. So fans have to wait until the mangaka returns with another volume.

Made In Abyss Season 3: Production Status

Just after the production committee announced that the anime is available for the third season, it confirmed that Made In Abyss Season 3 is in production. Although this is good news, the series won’t undergo production, at least now. As we have mentioned before, the source material isn’t sufficient. The lack of source material can create problems in the production process. That’s because the studio needs at least twenty or twenty-nine chapters to produce a full-fledged season.

    Made In Abyss Season 3
    Crunchyroll

Typically, Made in Abyss drops 12 episodes per season. The second season, Made in Abyss: The Golden City of Scorching Sun, was adapted from chapters 39-60, covering a total of 21 chapters. Meanwhile, the pilot season adapted up to 26 chapters. That’s not all! Made In Abyss returned with a feature film titled Made In Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, which covered chapters 26-38. Thus, considering this, there is a lack of source material to return with Made In Abyss Season 3 production. But we expect that the problem will be resolved soon.

    Will Kinema Citrus Return?

Since Made In Abyss was announced, Kinema Citrus has been the sole production company behind the series. The Japanese animation studio house was founded in March 2008, and since then, it has dropped several stellar animes, films, and OVAs. Some of its exceptional works include The Rising of the Shield Hero, Black Bullet, and Barakamon. While the series has returned with the first two seasons of Made In Abyss, it will likely return for Made In Abyss Season 3.

However, the production won’t start sooner. As we have mentioned, there isn’t enough source material. Further, the studio house behind the anime typically animates two animes yearly. It’s currently working on Cardfight!! Vanguard Divine Z and The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3. So, considering this, we don’t think that Kinema Citrus will soon start working on Made In Abyss Season 3.

If the studio house returns, then it’s safe to say that the staff members will also return. Masayuki Kojima will return to the directing seat, Hideyuki Kurata will return as the scriptwriter, and Kazuchika Kise will return as the character designer. Meanwhile, Australian artist Kevin Penkin will join the Made In Abyss Season 3 team as the music composer.

Made In Abyss Season 3: What To Expect Next?

The second season was a rollercoaster ride for the characters as well as the fans. Riko and her friends faced several challenges before reaching the sixth layer of the Abyss. It was undoubtedly an emotional moment between the characters as they bonded over their fair share of struggle. While the previous season highlighted the strong bond between the characters, it also hinted that more challenges were aligned on their way. Made In Abyss Season 3 will also bring new characters on the stage.

Now that Riko, Reg, and the rest of the friend circle are heading to enter the next layer of the Abyss, they will face more threats. Meanwhile, they’ll make new friends as they struggle to deal with the looming challenges. The anime has already been covered until Chapter 61, so we expect Made In Abyss Season 3 to explore from Chapter 62. It will focus on some poignant and intriguing elements while taking its fans to the world of Abyss.

    Crunchyroll

Riko and Reg will meet a new character whose storyline will leave them questioning the sanity of nature. It will also bring them closer as they learn more about the nature of the Abyss and how things can work. Meanwhile, fans can expect some emotional moments between Riko and other characters as the group explores the mystery surrounding the Abyss.

Made In Abyss Season 3: Cast Details

Since the anime will return in the third season, we expect the core characters to return. With them, the industry’s top-notch voice artists will also return. These include:

    • Riko – Miyu Tomita (Japanese), Brittany Lauda (English)
    • Reg – Mariya Ise (Japanese), Luci Christian (English)
    • Nanachi – Shiori Izawa (Japanese), Brittney Karbowski (English)
    • Faputa – Misaki Kuno (Japanese), Cat Thomas (English)

However, it remains unclear whether the characters of Belchero Orphanage, Cave Raiders, Ido Front, and Sages of Ganja will return. But if they return for Made In Abyss Season 3, we can expect some prominent faces to make it to the sequel. These include:

    • Mitty – Eri Kitamura (Japanese), Monica Rial (English)
    • Wazukyan – Hiroaki Hirata (Japanese), Brandon Hearnsberger (English)
    • Belaf – Mitsuki Saiga (Japanese), Ry McKeand (English)
    • Vueloeluko – Yuka Terasaki (Japanese), Kristen McGuire (English)
    • Prushka – Inori Minase (Japanese), Avery Smithhart (English)
    • Meinya – Natsuko Hara (Japanese), Juliet Simmons (English)

Is Made In Abyss Worth Watching?

Made In Abyss is among the best-written anime around the globe. Undoubtedly, its plot is original and well-written, as nothing has been seen like this anime before. Further, the wonderfully layered and intriguing narrative has also helped the anime to reach a perfect status. The unique part of the anime is that each character has a diverse background, which helps them deal with the “Curse of the Abyss.” While many call it a fantastic series, the anime has surprised its fans over the years, making it more intriguing for the audience.

Made In Abyss Season 3: Release Date

Kinema Citrus has yet to announce the Made In Abyss Season 3 release date. It’s been a year since the third season was announced. However, neither the production house nor Crunchyroll has announced the release date of Season 3. Since the series has yet to undergo production, which takes at least 12 to 18 months to conclude, we expect the series to take longer to return. It might return in the fall of 2025 if the manga returns with another volume this year. If not, then the chances are high that the series will receive more delay. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

  • My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12: Bakugo’s Fate In Limbo, Will He Die?

My Hero Academia Season 7 opened with a bang. However, the previous episode left fans wondering whether their favorite character, Katsuki Bakugo, will return. He has already seen a lot, and My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12 promises to bring more challenges for pro heroes. Bakugo is severely injured, and Deku and others have no idea about his condition. Does it hint at the direction of Bakugo’s death? Stakes are higher, and fans are curious to see what happens next. So, keep reading!

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12: Mangaka Hints At Bakugo’s Fate

After the horrifying battle scene, Katsuki Bakugo’s fate remains up in the air. He has been an internal part of My Hero Academia. The last episode has already witnessed his personal growth as he decided to compete with Deku healthily. However, Tomura Shigaraki’s counterattack has left fans wondering whether Bakugo will return. To add more tension, the mangaka Kohei Horikoshi shared an illustration of Bakugo on X on July 21. The post features the character in pain and worried expression.

His eyes are colored orange, adding a personal touch of creativity to the illustrator. While fans remain confused about whether he will return in My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12, “Those Who Defend, Those Who Violate,” we have pleasant news for you. Bakugo will return, and the credit will go to Edgeshot. He will use his Quirk to repair Bakugo’s heart and lungs. The tension will rise as the villains rise, but Edgeshot will manage to heal Bakugo. However, it doesn’t seem like our Hero will take part in the upcoming battle. He might be shifted to the Academy’s infirmary room until he recovers.

    A Quick Recap!

The previous episode, My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 11, began with a gruesome battle between Tomura Shigaraki and Katsuki Bakugo’s team of heroes. The final battle against the villains took an epic turn when all the heroes returned to risk their lives to save Japan. Hawks, Mirko, and Endeavor, all the top 10 pro heroes, coalited to stop the villains from creating more havoc. However, UA’s big three students, Tamaki Amajiki, Mirio Togata, and Nejire Hado, were missing. While the gang has made a buzz lately, their absence might affect the final battle.

However, Episode 11 had several great moments that captured the fans’ attention. While the battle was at its peak, that narration shifted to Tomura’s flashback. That finally revealed that Tomura was struggling with the identity crisis. That was because the frightened, vulnerable Tenko Shimua, who still adored pro heroes, was buried under Tomura Shigaraki’s persona. While Tomura’s inner battle continued, his horrific move left fans on edge. Tomura’s counterattack to defeat Bakugo was terrifying as he blasted the pro-hero’s heart, leaving him on the ground in a bloody heap. The episode then ended with rainclouds, hinting at Bakugo’s death.

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12: Release Date

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12 was slated to air on July 27. However, the anime will be on a week’s break, so no more episodes will air this week. That’s because of the Olympics broadcast. According to the revised release schedule, the upcoming episode will air on August 3, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. JST. The series will return to its original Japanese broadcasting network, Nippon Television. Meanwhile, the international audience can stream it on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Stay tuned. The Anime Daily will keep you updated.

  • Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5: Tanjiro Meets Love Hashira! Release Date

Following the retired Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui training session, Tanjiro Kamado and the rest of the Hashira head to the next round of training. While Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5 hints that Tanjiro will start Flexibility Training with Love Hashira, things will be awful. That’s because Tanjiro will soon reach his breaking point as Ufotable introduces new elements to the theme. Since the series focuses more on the anime-original storyline, it will be intriguing to see how far Tanjiro and other Hashira will go to compete for the final test. Keep reading to know the details.

Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 4 Episode 5: Tanjiro Enters The Next Phase Of Training

As we last saw Tanjiro and Muichiro bonded over their hobby, the duo has yet to learn about Nezuko’s role in the fight against Muzan. She is currently sleeping, and her role in the training arc remains unclear. However, she seems to support the Demon Slayer Corps in the final fight against the demon king. On the other hand, in Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5, “I Even Ate Demons,” Tanjiro Kamado will start his Flexibility Training.

That’s because he reached Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji’s residence at the end of the previous episode. Tanjiro is excited to participate in the Flexibility Training session. But it doesn’t look like the session will be easy. It will definitely be more challenging and intense compared to the past session. While Tanjiro learns new tricks and techniques during this session, he will learn more about Love Hashira’s intention behind raising bees.

Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5
    Crunchyroll

Since Ufotable has included the bees in the narration, it will play a crucial part in Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5. This might bring the anime-original plot to the series. That might help Tanjiro in the Hashira training session. On the other hand, the title suggests that the anime will bring back the fan’s beloved character, Genya Shinazugawa. He is known for devouring demons to get stronger. So, this will mark his entry in the fourth season. But it’s crucial to note that Genya and his older brother, Wind Hashira, have a strained relationship. So, seeing how things will be played out in the next episode will be intriguing.

    A Quick Recap!

So far in Demon Slayer Season 4, fans have noticed that the Hashira training arc is broken into various phases. While the third episode focused on Tanjiro swiftly succeeding in the former Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui’s training, Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 4 shifted its focus to Muichiro Tokito’s personal training. Though it was compelling to watch, and Muichiro stood out as the strong trainee among the other participants, he, too, suffered severe injuries. That hinted how brutal and intense the training session was.

The rank-and-file members of the Demon Slayer Corps struggled in the Hashira training regimen. That was because they were supposed to pass the final selection exam within a few weeks. While it was unusual for them, they had no choice as the final battle against the demon king, Muzan Kibutsuji, was looming. However, as expected, the members of Demon Slayer performed incredibly well during the training session, making things easier for Tengen Uzui.

Meanwhile, some of the Hashira were skeptical about the training session. Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro and Wind Hashira Sanemi doubted it. However, Muichiro and Tengen were confident about the training, leading Obanai and Sanemi to keep their doubts to themselves. The duo even joined the other Hashira in the moonlight training session. Although the training session appeared intense, it would eventually turn fruitful for Demon Slayer Corps members.

Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5: Release Date

Since the Demon Slayer Corps are heading to the next session of the Hashira Training regime, we can expect a more intense learning experience ahead. Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5, “I Even Ate Demons,” will be out on June 9, 2024, at 11:15 pm JST. The anime will be available to stream on Fuji TV in Japan. However, the global audience can catch the upcoming episode on Crunchyroll and Netflix at 8:45 am PT and 11:45 am ET. This is all for now. Stay tuned. The Anime Daily will keep you updated.

    A Quick Recap!

Previously, in My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 4, the UA learned about the traitor, Yuga Aoyama, and how he was feeding information about their plans to All For One. After capturing him red-handed, the UA arrested Aoyama along with his parents for being All For One’s mole. However, Class 1-A stood for him as they could understand his situation. He even believed that Aoyama could never hurt UA intentionally. Later, the traitor revealed that he had no choice but to be AFO’s mole; otherwise, he lost his life.

As soon as he opened up about his situation, Aizawa suggested that they could forgive him under one condition: he would agree to fight against All For One and join hands with the UA. Not so surprisingly, Aoyama agreed to this. Meanwhile, Iida and Midoriya visited Mei Hatsume to get some changes in their costumes. Unfortunately, Hatsume had little time to help them with their new costume pieces.

That was because of the new system added to UA, such as the entry of the support course students and the evacuation system. However, she asked Midoriya and Iida to help her with what she had on her hand. So, the duo returned to their classmates and split into teams to make the new armor pieces and gauntlets.

The Water Hashira stated that Giyu used to train with Sabito under Urokodaki. However, things turned darker when Sabito sacrificed his life to let Giyu and others qualify for the Final Selection. This eventually left Giyu in utter guilt. While Tanjiro believed Giyu would never join that training session, the latter surprised everyone by vowing to partake in it.

  • In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3: On Break! Will Studio J.C. Staff Produce This Season?

After watching the Light Harem anime last year (April – June 2023), fans eagerly await the much-needed update on In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3. Is it on the cards? Well, anime enthusiasts have been seeking the right answer, but the anime received rave reviews, making many believe it might not return for another season. But we have a surprising update for anime lovers. Curious to know? Then, keep reading!

Based on the Japanese light novel series, In Another World With My Smartphone is an Isekai anime that follows a fifteen-year-old Touya Mochizuki’s journey. After being accidently killed by God, he was reincarnated in a fantasy world with his smartphone. Though he couldn’t contact with his old world, his smartphone turned out to be an asset to survive in this fantasy world. While his choice of action eventually created chaos in his, Touya is set to make a name in this world. Can he? Let’s see!

In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3: Renewal Status!

After watching the second season finale in June 2023, anime enthusiasts have been clamoring for more. Well, there’s no denying that. That’s because the Isekai Light novel has a huge fanbase, and so does its anime adaptation. However, since the studio released the final episode, there have been words about In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3, jeopardizing its fate.

So, will it return with another season? Although the official announcement has not been released yet, there’s a chance that the anime might return for the third season. That’s because it received decent ratings on IMDb and MyAnimeList, garnering 6.5 and 6.4 stars out of 10, respectively. Meanwhile, on Rotten Tomatoes, the anime performed incredibly well, earning 81%, breaking all the records.

So, considering the reviews, it’s believed that season 3 of In Another World With My Smartphone might return. The first season aired in 2017, and it took almost six years to return with its sophomore run. Considering this, we can expect In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3 to return sometime in the future.

Will J.C. Staff Return To Produce The Anime?

It might be tricky to guess whether J.C. Staff will return. That’s because the first season, which aired from July 11 to September 26, 2017, was produced by Production Reed. While the series did well, it received rave reviews from fans for its narration and animation. Die-hard readers of light novels noted how much source material was skipped over, which later created complications for Production Reed to continue with the anime.

However, the studio house isn’t expected to return as it is currently working on two animes: How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer and 365 Days to the Wedding. Since Production Reed is known for producing one or two animes a year, it doesn’t seem like it will return with In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3.

As for J.C. Staff, the studio house animated the second season but didn’t give justice to its source material, per fans. Many even stated that season 1 was better than the second season regarding narration. That’s because the second season skipped the majority of the main arcs and didn’t even focus on the battle between the protagonist and his enemies. As for the animation, the transition between the two scenes didn’t perform well. So, indeed, J.C. Staff received more lousy reviews compared to Production Reed.

However, since the studio house is currently working on plenty of projects, it doesn’t look like it will return with In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3. J.C. Staff is currently working on 12 animes, including One-Punch Man 3. So, it doesn’t look like the third season of Isekai Smartphone will return this year unless another studio house takes the license of the series.

In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3: Production Status

As we have mentioned above, it has yet to be revealed which studio house will continue with the series’ animation. Since Production Reed and J.C. Staff didn’t perform better based on the fans’ expectations, it remains to be seen which studio house will produce the next season of Isekai Smartphone.

If we talk about the production status, anime takes almost a year or more to finish its animation. Considering that In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3 needs to drop great animation and narration, it might require more time to finish production and post-production work. Thus, we can expect that the series will return almost two or more years later.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

The anime adaptation of Isekai Smartphone is based on a light novel series that was initially published as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on April 8, 2013. The series was later serialized as a light novel series by Hobby Japan, illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka on May 22, 2015. As of now, the LN has released 29 volumes, which is enough for the third season. However, the first season covered three and a half volumes of light novels, while the second season covered 3-7 volumes.

So far, the anime has covered seven volumes of LN. Since it has 22 volumes left to cover, there’s a high chance for In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3. However, the second volume covered most of the storyline, and if the third season covered the same five volumes, there’s less chance of having more seasons after the third run. But we expect it to return with a feature film after season 3. The Anime Daily will update you once we get an official announcement.

In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3: What To Expect Next?

In the final episode of In Another World With My Smartphone Season 2, Kougyouko locates Tower Islands, Rampart, and their keepers, Preliora and Pamela. After that, Preliora reveals that Professor Babylon has foreseen Touya’s future. As per the prediction, Touya will have two more wives in the future, Leen and Sakura.

Meanwhile, in the present, Queen Yuel gave birth to a boy and named him Belfast’s future king. While the young boy replaced Touya, his other wives learned they were also about to welcome their children. However, they were upset with Touya for keeping things under wrap, so they punished him with a kiss.

Since the anime has already finished seven volumes, we can expect in In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3, Touya will embark on a new journey. He will go on a quest where he will meet two wives, Leen and Sakura. While the following enemies will challenge him, Touya will create a world for his wives. So he can make things fruitful for his future kids.

Reddit Review: Is It Worth Watching?

The anime has received rave reviews. However, many Redditors have stated that the second season was worse than the pilot season. It skipped most of the major story arc to introduce Touya’s seven wives. Another user said that although the second season wasn’t as good as the first, it was satisfying to watch.

Other users said, “Season Two was a cynical cash grab that essentially acted as a best-of-highlight clip of various arcs in the light novels. I can’t even decide if I want to buy the eventual Blu-ray. On the other hand, I like to be complete. On the other hand, it rewards greedy behavior on the part of the studio. Either way, despite having been so excited for Season Two, I am fine with no Season Three if this is how they treat the property.”

Meanwhile, the other users said the anime was faithful to the LN. The only real changes they’ve made were to remove redundant things and explanations to simplify the flow of the adaptation. Further, many stated that the anime was a light-hearted comedy, so its portrayal did justice to the narration.

As we mentioned above, the anime hasn’t been greenlighted yet, so it remains unclear when the third season will return. However, considering the sophomore season returned after five years, we expect the same with its third season. Speaking of the In Another World With My Smartphone Season 3 release date, if the series were announced in 2024, it would take almost a couple of years to return. The next season might be released in 2026. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily to stay updated.
