While they discussed this, Garfiel arrived with a wounded Mimi. It was later revealed that they couldn’t close those wounds and needed to act. The team believed if they could remove the witch’s remains from the city, they could save everything. However, Kiritaka revealed that it would only destroy the city. She was more into goofy and kind-hearted men rather than slick individuals. On the race track, Taylor finally surpassed Kanata, who was stuck behind his rival’s Porsche. While Taylor gave Kanata a hard time, the latter finally overtook Taylor, shocking everyone about his move.

The commentators revealed some commonalities among the races who excel in such a condition. They all were trained in Europe, and perhaps the European training environment was the reason for their success. • Haikyuu Season 5 Release Date : Gets Movie Adaptation!

Since Haikyuu Season 4 debuted back in October 2020, fans have been clamoring to know the future of Haikyuu Season 5. There’s no denying that since the anime’s debut, it has become one of the most iconic sports anime. It has gradually earned a strong fanbase, and fans are craving for more. But you can breathe a sigh of relief now. That’s because the production house has finally dropped the major announcement regarding the anime’s future in the large-scale fan events. So, keep reading to learn what is on hold for Haikyuu Season 5.

Based on a Japanese manga series, Haikyuu follows the journey of Shoyo Hinata, a junior high school student. After watching Karasuno High School’s incredible performance in the Nationals on TV, Shoyo decides to play volleyball. He later joins his school’s volleyball club. Despite his great efforts, things turn dramatic in the beginning. However, as the series progresses, it features Shoyo’s growth and determination to reach the nationals.

Haikyuu Season 5: Is It Renewed Yet?

Haikyuu has remained one of the most impactful sports anime of all time. Since its debut, it has gained an enormous fanbase and has seen no sign of stopping. Despite such a strong fanbase, the anime has faced a dark fate. It’s been four years, and neither Crunchyroll nor the production house has commented on Haikyuu Season 5 release date. Well, that’s not because of its poor performance. In fact, anime has performed incredibly well on streaming platforms.

    Haikyuu Season 5 Renewed
    Crunchyroll

Since its debut, Haikyuu has earned 8.7/10 on IMDb and 8.4/10 on MyAnimeList, which suggests that the show is performing well. Despite that, there are no words on Haikyuu Season 5 release date . Instead, the production house has indicated that the anime will see some major changes. That’s right! The production house has dropped major announcements teasing the next installments of the series. Let’s see what it is.

    Official Announcement

In August 2022, Haikyuu’s official X/Twitter account announced that the anime was approaching its end. However, the anime will return with two films instead of returning with a full season, Haikyuu Season 5. In addition, the official post also shared that the official announcement of the two installments would take place in a special kick-off event held in August 2023. However, it faced a setback and was later held in September 2023.

The special festival, Haikyuu Fest, dedicated to anime, took place on September 24, 2023. It was held at the Tokyo Musashino Forest Sports Plaza Main Arena. According to reports, 9,000 attendees, along with the production staff, attended the fest. During the event, the attendees were updated that the beloved sports anime would end with two films. That would be joined by the eight of the main cast members.

These include Kaito Ishikawa (Tobio Kageyama) and Ayumu Murase (Shoyo Hinata). The actors joined for the script reading, written by the mangaka Haruichi Furudate. In addition, fans are also treated to the first film’s trailer and live music performances. While the announcement left fans on their toes, it revealed nothing about Haikyuu Season 5.

How Much Of The Source Material Is Left To Cover?

While fans are glad to see more of Haikyuu!! they will be disappointed to learn that there won’t be Haikyuu Season 5. The studio house has decided to wrap the series with films rather than a full season. However, many are concerned about whether the two films could cover every detail of the original manga. The manga started serializing in Shuesiha’s Shonen manga magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump. It was serialized from February 2012 to July 2020.

Since the manga has already been wrapped up with 45 tankobon volumes, there is a scarcity of material. Initially, it was believed that Haikyuu Season 5 would be the final season as it would cover up all the remaining storylines. However, it won’t happen, perhaps because of the budget restrictions. But the first movie, Haikyuu: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump, has already covered the story from Chapters 293 to 327.

    Haikyuu Season 5 Cast
    Crunchyroll

That means 30 chapters have already been covered, leaving only 75 chapters to be covered. So the second film will cover the rest of the chapters. But it won’t be possible for a single movie to cover every detail and character development in an hour-long movie. Events like Oikawa’s triumphant return, the Brazil arc, and more remain to be covered. So it remains uncertain whether the second Haikyuu!! The final film could cover all this, or else the anime could return with another film.

READ MORE:- More Than A Married Couple Season 2: Confirmed After The Finale?

What Will Happen In Haikyuu Films?

While the studio house has announced two Haikyuu movies in 2023, only one of the two films has an official release date. In fact, the first movie has already been released, titled Gekijoban Haikyuu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen. The first film covers the legendary Battle at the Garbage Dump. There’s no denying that it’s the most eventful conflict in the manga. The material will be heavily compressed since the anime returns with a movie rather than a full season.

The first part focuses on the Kamomedai match. Meanwhile, the second Haikyuu movie, which is presently untitled, will focus on the match between Hinata and Kageyama. They have now become professional players. After graduation, all the players went their separate ways. Some have stopped playing volleyball and are more into studies. On the other hand, Kageyama has become a professional athlete.

    Haikyuu First Movie
    Crunchyroll

He is willing to join the national team and is working on his vigorous training. As for Hinata, he goes to Brazil to improve his beach volleyball skills. After developing his skills, Hinata returns to Japan with an entirely different aura. It leads to a match between his team and Kageyama’s team. The manga ends with the Tokyo Olympics, Hinata ends with the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship, and faces Kageyama.

So Haikyuu’s second film will cover the entire storyline. However, as said, it will focus on Kageyama and Hinata’s character development; the second movie won’t focus more on other characters like Karasunno, which means they won’t return to the big screen.

Will Haikyuu End With The Second Movie?

The first Haikyuu Final movie was returned with compressed source material. This decision sounds fair enough, as it would have become challenging to cover all the storylines in the movie. This compressed storyline allows the second movie to explore Hinata’s journey to Brazil. It will pretty much cover the manga narrative. Since 75 chapters remain to be covered in the second final movie, it seems like Haikyuu won’t end with the second movie.

    Haikyuu 2
    Crunchyroll

Although the studio intended to wrap up the storyline with two movies, it appears that the decision will change soon. The situation is similar to the last season of Attack on Titan. It was initially intended to end with Season 4 Part 2. However, the studio later announced a Part 3. So, Haikyuu might return with a third film or Haikyuu Season 5 to cover all the possible storylines.

    Who Will Return?

Although the official announcement has yet to be made about the Haikyuu Final movie, the production house has stated that the anime will return with all the main characters. These include:

    • Shoyo Hinata – Ayumu Murase (Japanese), Bryson Baugus (English)
    • Tobio Kageyama – Kaito Ishikawa (Japanese), Scott Gibbs (English)
    • Kei Tsukishima – Koki Uchiyama (Japanese), Leraldo Anzaldua (English)
    • Tadashi Yamaguchi – Soma Saito (Japanese), Cameron Bautsch (English)
    • Daichi Sawamura – Satoshi Hino (Japanese), Justin Doran (English)
    • Koshi Sugawara – Miyu Irino (Japanese), Adam Gibbs (English)
    • Asahi Azumane -Yoshimasa Hosaya (Japanese), Orlanders Jones (English)

    Haikyuu Season 5 Release Date

As mentioned above, the studio house has plans to return with two final movies instead of Haikyuu Season 5. That means there’s no release date for Haikyuu Season 5. However, the official announcement has teased the release date of the first Haikyuu movie. The first movie in Japan was slated to air on February 16, 2024. While Production I.G. and Toho Animation haven’t released the global digital release date of the first movie, it has yet to announce the release date of the second final movie.

Haikyuu Season 5 Release Date lates news and updates 2024
    Crunchyroll

The second movie has yet to undergo filming. The studio house has yet to reveal when they will start filming the second movie. Considering the first movie took a year to wrap up production, we expect the same with the Haikyuu Final movie. So, based on this, we believe the second final movie will air sometime in 2025. Interestingly, there’s a surprise for two million viewers who watched the first movie in the theatre.

According to the reports, they will get a special treat. They will all receive a special book named Haikyuu!! Volume 33.5. It will contain unique items like character illustrations and interviews, giving the anime a proper send-off. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

The anime’s character designer, Takahiko Abiru, seems optimistic about returning with another season. Shortly after the second season wrapped up airing, the character designer shared a pleasing post on X/Twitter. Takahiko wrote a heartfelt note, “My gratitude goes to you,” pointing towards the staff.

He continued that all the staff members continued working on this project without giving up. The character designer also expressed gratitude to the fans who showed their support for Vinland Saga. While Takahiko Abiru thanked everyone for their support, he hinted that Thorfinn’s journey would continue. Although it isn’t an official announcement, it does suggest that the anime might return with a third season in the future.

When Will Vinland Saga Season 3 Enter Production?

As of now, the studio house hasn’t announced when the anime will return. It’s been a year, and the studio house has yet to make an official announcement. However, Vinland Saga Season 2 was released in January 2023, while the official announcement didn’t come until 2022. So, it seems like the same thing will happen with Vinland Saga Season 3 release date. The studio house might reveal the official announcement in the fall of 2024.

As mentioned above, Wit Studio, Inc. is behind the first season of the anime, while MAPPA is behind the second season. So, it remains unclear which studio will return to produce Vinland Saga Season 3. Considering the character designer’s tweet, there’s a sign that MAPPA will return. However, MAPPA is currently busy with other projects. The studio house is working on Bucchigiri?!, Oblivion Battery, Ranma 1/2, Lazarus, Zenshu, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Season 2, and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3.

    Crunchyroll

In addition, MAPPA Studio is also working on anime films like The Rose of Versailles, Zombie Land Saga the Movie, and Chainsaw Man—The Movie: Reze Arc. Thus, it doesn’t seem like the studio house will return with Vinland Saga Season 3 this year. It will take at least a couple of years to return with fans’ favorite action anime.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

Vinland Saga is an adaptation of Makoto Yukimura’s manga series of the same name. The manga started serializing on April 13, 2005, and is still ongoing. Speaking of the anime, it has covered less than 100 chapters, with the second season concluding with Chapter 54 of the source material. The manga contains more than 180 chapters. As of June 2024, it has a total of 28 tankobon volumes. Thus, plenty of source material is left to be explored in the upcoming season.

This suggests that the anime has been covered until the Baltic Sea War Arc. So, it’s safe to say that Vinland Saga Season 3 can return. It can focus on the Eastern Expedition Arc. Since the manga is ongoing and is currently focusing on its Final Arc, it’s safe to say that Vinland Saga can return with multiple seasons. However, the decision is in the studio house’s hands. So, it’s safe to wait for the official announcement.

Since the second season has already concluded the Baltic Sea War, Vinland Saga Season 3 will begin with the Eastern Expedition Arc. Well, the anime has remained close to its roots. Thus, we expect the third season to begin with Thorfinn and Einar navigating the changes in their lives. They will embark on a journey eastward, focusing on exploring the different worlds. While they enter the new territories, they will also face new challenges.

They will deal with new cultures and struggle with the challenges of nation-building. Since the Eastern Expedition Arc focuses on arcs of friendship, ambition, and the search for peace, the third season will see Thorfinn’s growth. Vinland Saga Season 3 will take fans to medieval Europe. The manga suggests that the narrative will be dramatic, filled with political issues and action sequences. Thorfinn and Einar’s development will also be discussed. Their bond will be tested when new characters are introduced.

Vinland Saga Season 3 Cast Details

Crunchyroll has just dropped pleasant news regarding The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 release date . There’s no denying that the anime won many hearts with its intense action scenes and extraordinary storyline. However, it’s been a year since fans last saw the third season. But you don’t have to wait for anymore. So, without further ado, let’s head to see what the Crunchyroll has in store for us.

Based on the Light Novel series, The Rising Of The Shield Hero follows Naofumi Iwatani, who was summoned into a parallel world. Like his fellow companions, Naofumi had a great start, but his life worsened when his only ally betrayed him. Not only this, but she falsely accused the protagonist of sexually assaulting her, creating trouble for him. Since things turned dark, Naofumi was forced to train hard to be a hero and make ends meet. But can he get back his reputation? Let’s see!

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 Is Officially Renewed!

Rejoice fans! Since the marvelous third season concluded, fans have been waiting for the renewal news. But the wait is over now. That’s because Naofumi’s voice actor, Kaito Ishikawa, has something pleasant to say to the audience. On January 22, during a radio program, Kaito surprised everyone by doing the honors of conforming that The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 has already been renewed. That’s right, the anime will soon return with its never-seen-before animation and narration.

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 officially renewed
    Crunchyroll

Well, there’s no denying that the first three seasons were a blast. The series performed absolutely well, and fans liked it. The Rising Of The Shield Hero received a positive response from the audience and the critics. It garnered 7.8 out of 10 on IMDb, 4.7/5 on Crunchyroll, and 8/10 on MyAnimeList. At the 4th Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2020, Naofumi Iwatani’s voice artist, Billy Kametz, was awarded Best Voice Artist Performance (English). Also, the character Raphtalia was honored as Best Girl, and Kevin Penkin was nominated in the Best Score category. Thus, there’s no brainer as to why the anime has been renewed for the fourth run.

    Key Visual Is Out!

Along with the fourth season announcement, the anime’s streaming platform has confirmed that The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 will be available to watch on Crunchyroll. So far, the series is also available on Funimation and Hulu. But it isn’t the only exciting news! Accompanying the fourth season’s renewal announcement is a breathtaking teaser visual. The first official poster of the series showcases a desolate landscape with a stormy background. It also features a distant dragon soaring in the sky. The caption reads, “The Heroes will rise again- Season 4 confirmed.”

After months of this confirmation, The Rising Of The Shield Hero surprised its fans with another teaser visual. It features Naofumi, Filo, Raphtalia, Fohl, and Atla staring off a mysterious town into the distance. As Naofumi’s party looks over the town, the atmosphere smells of trouble. Besides this, Crunchyroll also dropped a twenty-second teaser video that suggested “The return of the exiled.” While the network has more information yet to drop, we expect the series to return soon.

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4: Production Status

Not only did Kaito Ishikawa announce that the fourth season was happening, but he also revealed that the series had already undergone production. That’s right! The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4’s production started in January 2024. Since six months have passed, if you expect that the anime might have reached its halfway point, then you’re absolutely wrong. The Rising Of The Shield Hero generally takes two years to wrap up production. So, considering the timeframe, it doesn’t seem like the anime will enter its halfway sooner.

But it’s the beauty of this anime. Such a type of Isekai anime takes longer to finish production because of its detail-oriented animation, stellar visuals, and larger-than-life action scenes. Thus, there’s no debate on why the series will take lengthy production. Another reason is the studio house behind the series. Kinema Citrus is the production house behind The Rising Of The Shield Hero, and it’s likely to return to animate in the fourth season. However, an official announcement has yet to be made. It’s a Japanese animation studio founded by former Bones and Production I.G members in March 2008.

One thing to note is that Kinema Citrus is known for producing one to two animes yearly. It’s currently working on Cardfight!! Vanguard Divine Z. It has already announced that it has started producing The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4. That means it will take a longer time to wrap up the production.

What Will Happen Next In The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4?

The third season’s final episode was a rollercoaster ride. As the episode progressed, Raphtalia’s background was revealed. It was later revealed that she was the heiress of Q’ten Lo royalty. However, things weren’t great when she was young. So, to save her life, Sadeena fled with Raphtalia and helped her parents raise her. After Raphtalia accidently declared war against Q’ten Lo, Naofumi decided to visit Siltvelt to chat with Q’ten. His intention was clear. He only wanted to speak with the queen. However, if things didn’t go his way, then the situation could change.

Although the finale ends with Naofumi learning about Raphtalia’s history, his intention is clear. He wants to make Raphtalia sit on the throne. So, The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 will undoubtedly pick up from there. Naofumi and his team will head to Siltvelt to help Raphtalia take what belongs to her. Meanwhile, Atla and Fohl will be busy training when Aultcray approaches them. He is curious to see Naofumi’s next move, perhaps stopping him from catching a ferry to Q’ten Lo.

Further, the first three seasons have adapted up to volume 12. That means The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 will pick up the pace from Volume 13. The anime is an adaptation of the Light Novel series by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Seira Minami. The light novel series has a total of 22 volumes so far. Since the anime covers two volumes each season, there’s enough source material to be covered in the fourth season. If you are willing to read the chapters ahead of the following season, you can start reading from Volume 13.

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 Cast Details

There’s no denying that the anime will be baseless without Naofumi and his team. So, the series’ core characters will definitely return. These include:

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Has Always Been Controversial

Despite receiving praise for its stellar visuals, the anime has a notorious reputation among Western anime fans. Some found the false rape allegation was too much of its initial storyline, calling it disturbing and inappropriate. Meanwhile, others weren’t happy with the heated political issues. Although such criticism didn’t make it to the main subject in Japan, the Western audience was taken aback by the theme of The Rising Of The Shield Hero. It doesn’t end here.

The anime also received similar criticism for its storyline and sexualizing of Filo despite her being a young girl. Thus, anime has remained controversial due to several reasons. But it’s quite common in the Isekai genre. The Rising Of The Shield Hero did perfectly well in blending with the series’ theme. Despite such notorious fame, the anime has won many awards. It has also won fans’ hearts for its incredible storyline and visuals. Thus, there’s no doubt that the show will return despite being highly controversial.

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 Release Date

To celebrate the forthcoming launch of the 30th manga volume in Japan, the studio house dropped a new teaser trailer on the YouTube channel EMOTION Label in early March. The 2-minute and 24-second-long trailer hints at the introduction of a “Hero Visual Project.”

It begins with a dramatic epilogue featuring Garou in action. He and the monstrous foes are involved in an action-packed Monster Raid arc. The trailer starts with the line, “No matter how much an organism strives, there are limits to its growth.” However, “he had removed his limiter,” hinting at the character’s growth and strength he has achieved through a thorough training session. As the trailer continues, it focuses on an intense battle between Garou and the two monsters, who launch an impactful punch on Garou.

Madhouse directed the first season. However, the debut season received plenty of mixed reaction. Many even criticized the series for its animation. Such a remark made things worse for the One Punch Man anime. Later, in the second season, J.C. Staff replaced Madhouse. However, the sophomore run also showed signs of mismanagement. Although fans appreciated the quality of the animation, many were disappointed with the fast pace of narration, skipping major story arcs. This further led many to believe a new studio house might join the series.

Later, it led to Genos’ fight with Garou. However, the battle became intense, leaving Garou on the edge.
