Earlier this year, the Blue Exorcist manga was on hiatus from February 2021 to March 2021. It was a regular fatigue break that Kato took to maintain the quality of her work. As the official sources suggest, author Kazue Kato will be working on other projects in the meantime. The artist will be illustrating her adaptation of the Eizen Karukaya Kaiitan manga, better known as the Strange Tales from the Handy Shop Karukaya. This happens to be the original horror manga by Fuyumi Ono. Hence, Kato will draw six chapters for the mini-series.
