Mieruko-chan is a popular Japanese Seinen horror-comedy manga. Tomoki Izumi is the writer and illustrator of the text. The first chapter of the manga came out in November 2018. So far, the ongoing manga has serialized five volumes. In March 2021, Studio Passione announced the anime adaptation of the text. Five months have gone by, and the anime has new updates for the fans.

Mieruko-chan Anime: Plot Details

According to the official synopsis of the manga, the story of Mieruko-chan revolves around high schooler Miko. A perfectly normal life turns upside down when Miko suddenly starts seeing espers and spirits around her. She realizes that no one can get notice of the beings that she sees with the naked eye. For a long time, she avoids the spirits with the help of petty spiritual objects. But when the spirit of a dead exchange teacher starts to haunt the school premises, she decides not to sit back anymore.

From here, the journey of an exorcist begins. Much like the anime series Mob Psycho 100, Mieruko-chan also deals with the themes of horror and demons with a touch of comedy. The obstacles that she has to face while training for exorcism is some of the best comedic gigs in the story. The official website of the manga has confirmed the names of the team members who will be working in the anime adaptation. As for the cast of the show, it includes Sora Amamiya in the lead role of Miko Yotsuya. Along with her, Kaede Hondo is playing the role of Hana Yurikawa. The last name that the makers revealed was that of Ayane Sakura in the role of Yulia Nikaidō.

Interspecies Reviewer’s fame director Yuki Ogawa is on board as the director of Mieruko-chan Anime. Along with him, Takahiro Majima and Shintarō Matsushima are the assistant directors on the show. Kenta Ihara is responsible for the scripting of the anime series. Moreover, the character designing department will be handled by Chikashi Kadekaru. Kana Utatane will be composing the music.
