It not only won many hearts but also left a lasting impression on its fans’ minds. Thus, there’s no denying why the fans are curious about another season. Guess what? Finally, after four years’ worth of waiting the anime committee has released the most anticipated update. Does it mean the series is on the cards? Let’s find out.

Based on Q Hayashida’s manga series of the same name, Dorohedoro centers on a man named Caiman. After being transported into a reptilian body, Caiman is determined to search for the sorcerer who is responsible for that. However, with no memory of his past, things become daunting for him. Despite that, Caiman receives help from his friend Nikaido, who runs The Hungry Bug restaurant. With a mission to accomplish, Caiman works on his way to find that sorcerer.

Dorohedoro Season 2 Is Officially Renewed!

Finally, after four years of waiting, the series production committee released the most exciting update: Dorohedoro Season 2 is happening. Fans have been waiting for this moment since the series pilot season aired in 2020. There’s no denying that shortly after its debut, it created an uproar in the anime industry. The anime garnered positive ratings from the audience and critics. It earned 8.1/10 on IMDb and 8/10 on MyAnimeList.

In addition, the anime was nominated for the 2021 5th Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Besides this, the anime has a huge fanbase that loved the series to its core. Now that the anime is returning, fans are waiting for the Dorohedoro Season 2 release date with bated breath. While the production committee has announced Season 2 of Dorohedoro, it hasn’t released the teaser trailer or still of the next season. So, Dorohedoro fans have to wait until an official announcement is made.

When Will Dorohedoro Season 2 Undergo Production?

Grab your seat, as we have pleasant news for you. Besides the Dorohedoro Season 2 renewal announcement, the studio house has also revealed the production status. As per the official website, the second season is currently under production. While it hasn’t revealed many details of the production status, the official website did reveal that the series will continue. The anime will be a streaming series. In addition, the official website of the Dorohedoro also dropped the key poster.

The production committee released a poster where Caiman and his friend Nikaido can be seen opening The Hungry Bug restaurant. As part of the announcement, the mangaka also revealed that the production is “progressing little by little for quite some time.” The mangaka will play a crucial role in Dorohedoro Season 2, as per the reports. Since the series underwent production in early January 2024, we expect it would have reached halfway. Production typically takes 12 to 18 months. Considering this time, the Dorohedoro Season 2 release date might be near.

Will MAPPA Return To Animate The Series?

Although the anime committee has dropped the most awaiting news, it hasn’t said anything about the series studio or crew. Studio MAPPA produced the first season of Dorohedoro. The series performed amazingly well in terms of narration and animation. With its stellar visuals, one can say that Studio MAPPA might return to produce Dorohedoro Season 2. However, the possibility seems slim. That’s because MAPPA’s hands are all full at this moment.

Studio MAPPA is currently working on big banner projects such as Bucchirgi?!, Oblivion Battery Ranma 1/2, Lazarus, Zenshu, Hell’s Paradise Season 2, Campfire Cooking Season 2, and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. In addition, MAPPA is gearing up to produce some anime films like The Rose of Versailles, Zombie Land Saga the Movie, and Chainsaw Man- The Movie: Reze Arc. Considering its busy schedule, it doesn’t seem like Studio MAPPA will return to produce Dorohedoro Season 2.

The first season began with Caiman navigating a life with a reptilian head. He was determined to find the sorcerer responsible for his memory loss and reptilian head. To achieve his goal, he teamed up with Nikaido and embarked on a journey to explore the enigmatic world of Hole. However, his journey was full of trouble. Things started falling apart when En, the de facto ruler, suspected that Caiman had some connection with Cross Eyes Gang.

This later created more complications in Caiman’s life. Since the first season covered the introductory part, Dorohedoro Season 2 will witness Caiman and Nikaido embarking on their next quest. The second season will focus on the “Central Department Store Story Arc.” While Caiman has no memories of his past, he relies deeply on Nikaido. However, this season will uncover the latter’s devil side and how she deals with her time-traveling powers.

While challenges are ahead in their lives, Dorohedoro Season 2 promises to explore their duo’s bond and how far they will go to find the sorcerer. Fans can also expect an interesting storyline and twist. Some revelations will soon create problems in the duo’s dynamic. So get ready to discover how Caiman will react after learning about Nikaido’s past.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

The anime is an adaptation of Q Hayashida’s Japanese manga series of the same name. The manga series started serializing in November 2000 and concluded in September 2018. As of now, all the chapters are collected in 23 tankobon volumes. That means it has a total of 167 chapters so far. While the anime remained true to its source material, it has already covered half of the manga series. As per the reports, the first season has covered half of volume seven around 40 chapters.

    Dorohedoro Season 2
    Netflix

However, don’t fret! There’s ample source material left to be covered. If the anime follows the same pattern, then Dorohedoro Season 2 will cover until chapter 80, almost touching Volume 14. After exploring 40 more chapters the manga has left with 87 more chapters that can easily be covered in their future installments.

    Dorohedoro Season 2 Cast Details

While the series hasn’t revealed the staff details, it’s safe to say that all the cast members and their voice actors will return. These include:

    • Caiman – Wataru Takagi (Japanese), Aleks Le (English)
    • Nikaido – Reina Kondo (Japanese), Reba Buhr (English)
    • Professor Kasukabe – Mitsuhiro Ichiki (Japanese), Griffin Burns (English)
    • Vaux – Hisao Egawa (Japanese), Michael Sorich (English)
    • En – Kenyu Horiuchi (Japanese), Keith Silverstein (English)

Will Dorohedoro Season 2 Be The Final Season?

    Dorohedoro Season 2
    Netflix

Absolutely not! As we have already mentioned there are ample source material left to be covered. After the second season adapt 80 chapters there are almost 87 chapters left to be adapted. So considering this, we expect that Dorohedoro can return with one more season and one spin-off movie. But there’s a catch! There’s also a chance that Dorohedoro Season 2 can split into two parts. If that’s the case then the series might end with the second season.

    Is Dorohedoro Worth Watching?

Some say the anime is fantastic as it explores a dark fantasy world with its unique style. There’s no denying that the series is a gem. It has its own funny and dark moments. As per the critics, the anime is worth watching. That’s because the characters are likable, even the villains. In fact, the anime gets more interesting in every episode. Plus, the storytelling, humor, and voice acting are top-notch. The cherry on top is the stellar animation.

Meanwhile, many users of Reddit also cited that the Dorohedoro is worth watching. A user said, “I personally thought the art was some of my favorite art from any anime ever.” Another user said that the CGI is decent enough. Some users called it one of the most unique series out there. The art is better and amazing. “Dorohedoro is a must-watch, just because its story is like no other anime. Technically, among all the CGI anime that one is on the good side of the specter,” a Reddit user said.

    Dorohedoro Season 2 Release Date

Although the anime committee has announced the much-anticipated news, it hasn’t announced anything about the Dorohedoro Season 2 release date. Since the series is under production, it’s likely that the staff will reveal the production status and when we can expect the next season on our screen. Considering the production began in early January, it might have reached halfway. So, the anime committee will soon announce the series release date. It’s safe to suggest that Season 2 of Dorohedoro will air sometime in mid-2025. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

  • Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3: Gets Fall Release Window

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the most epic anime ever, and there’s no denying that. With the series exploring the final arc of the manga series Bleach, fans are curious to know whether the anime will return with another part. But no need to fret. That’s because Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 is already on the cards. You heard that right! The show is gearing up to wrap up the legendary storyline. However, we have both good and bad news for the fans. As the anime approaches its release date, it is also edging closer to its end. So will Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 be the series finale? Curious to know? Then, keep reading!

Based on the popular manga series Bleach, the anime delves into the manga’s final story arc, which was left unexplored. It debuted in October 2004, leaving fans on their toes. However, the anime said goodbye to its fans without exploring its final arc. While many were disappointed by the anime’s abrupt ending, the series returned to explore the epic showdown. That’s right! The anime is currently in its final phase and is ready to explore the epic showdown arc- “Thousand-Year Blood War.”

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Is Officially Renewed

Many remained disappointed as the anime ended before exploring the manga’s final arc in March 2014. The manga’s final arc is expected to reveal the fate of Squad Zero. However, audiences weren’t that lucky to see how things would end. But everything changed when, in March 2020, Weekly Shonen Jump announced that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War would receive a TV anime adaptation. Well, the announcement came out as a part of the Bleach manga’s 20th Anniversary celebration. Not only this, but the final arc adaption is also split into four parts.

Two of them have already concluded, and now the anime series is gearing up to release Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3. During the Anime Expo 2024 industry panel, the anime committee also released the first look at the series, including the teaser trailer and new key visuals. The trailer has released that the third part will be titled “The Conflict.” It also revealed that the third part will focus on the Soul Reaper’s journey.

That being said, things are going to be extreme in Part 3. Besides this, the trailer was released at Jump Festa and teased that Grimmjow and Aizen would return. Their return will play a pivotal role in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3. While the first trailer was more about the Soul Reaper battle against the Sternritter of the Wandenreich empire, the second trailer focused on the action sequels. In addition, Viz Media also dropped the first key visual of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3.

The Second Trailer Hints At A Gruesome Battle

The manga is popular for its action scenes, and we can expect the same from anime as well. The official X account of Viz Media shared the most-anticipated and bold teaser of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3—The Conflict. As mentioned, the third part will focus on the epic battle. The minute-long teaser also hints at the direction. It features Squad Zero’s captain, Ichibo, and the main villain, Yhwach, facing off against each other. It is the hotly anticipated fight after Yhwach vs. Yamamoto. The teaser trailer also shows Ichigo and his group rushing into the Soul King’s castle.

But surprisingly, it collapses as soon as the crew enters it. There’s no denying that the trailer gives justice to the action scenes. There’s more to explore in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3. On May 30, 2024, the production committee revealed they would hold a special Thousand-Year Blood War panel to give a “sneak peek” of the third part. During the Anime Expo, the team also brought the English voice actors, including Robbie Daymond and Xander Mobus.

So far, the first two parts explored only the introductory part of the final arc. Now, fans can expect huge changes as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 will delve deeper into the action scenes. So expect some bold changes in the upcoming storyline. Further, the third part will also witness Squad Zero’s strongest Bankai.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3: Production Begins

Since the release date for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 is already out, it’s safe to say that production might be in the final phase. However, the team hasn’t mentioned anything regarding the anime’s production. The four parts of the series were renewed altogether, so animation work might be done back-to-back, which means the studio house Studio Pierrot has already mapped the fourth part. There’s another possibility that suggests the studio house might have started working on Part 4.

During an interview with Comicbook, Studio Pierrot Managing Editor Keirou Itsumi addressed that they are working on some changes. Itsumi revealed that they are now considering “labor management” and will try their best to provide the best and safest workplace to their employee. So far, they have ignored the Labor Standards Act. However, things will change now. In addition, he added that they would give credits to the creators and employees, which would also be reflected in their payment.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3: What To Expect Next?

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 wrapped up with the epic battle between Yhwach’s most elite soldiers and Squad Zero’s Senjumaru Shutara. The latter was the last survivor of the crew after everyone except Ichibo sacrificed themselves to help her use the strongest-ever Bankai. Well, the scene wasn’t a part of the original source material. However, their sacrifice helped Shutara to defeat Yhwach’s crew member Uryu. On the other hand, Ichibo continued his fight against Yhwach.

His Bankai was as strong as what Shutara used. Since the second part ended with a cliffhanger, we can expect Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 to pick the pace from where it was left off. The third part will begin with the fight between Yhwach and Ichibo. The main villain will undoubtedly return and is ready to stop Ichibo from entering the Soul King’s Palace. But can he? That’s because the trailer has already hinted that the team has arrived at the palace. So, he needs to act fast. But it seems like Squad Zero will head to the Soul King’s Palace before he can take his final blow.

But now it remains to be seen what Yhwach will do to stop them. Since the anime has directed its roots from the manga, it remains unclear how things will unfold. If we focus on the manga, Yhwach’s elite soldiers aren’t done yet. They will return to give Ichibo and his crew the toughest fight ever. Further, Uryu has a greater role to play. So, it doesn’t seem like Uryu will be gone. Yhwach’s elite soldier will definitely return.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3: Cast Details

There’s no denying that all the star cast will return along with the lead characters. However, many were killed in Part 2, so whether they will return for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 remains unclear. While nothing is known about their return, Ichigo’s English voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch talked about his role in the anime. During an interview with Digital Spy, Bosch said the fans’ reaction was positive, and he’s excited to return as Ichigo’s voice artist.

In addition, Bosch talked about the stellar visuals and said, “I’m loving the animation.” “Every moment of [Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War] has brought me one step closer” to amazing fighting scenes. It’s been a joyful journey, and he’s enjoying being a part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3. So, there’s no denying that he will return as the lead voice artist. Besides him, the following cast and characters will return:

    • Ichigo Kurosaki – Masakazu Morita (Japanese), Johnny Yong Bosch (English)
    • Orihime Inoue – Yuki Matsuoka (Japanese), Stephanie Sheh (English)
    • Rukia Kuchiki – Fumiko Orikasa (Japanese), Michelle Ruff (English)
    • Askin Nakk Le Vaar – Shunsuke Takeuchi (Japanese), Daman Mills (English)

Plus, the anime committee has also revealed the theme songs. Six Lounge will perform the opening theme song of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3. It will be titled “Kotoba ni Sezutomo.” As for the ending theme song, Suiso will perform it, “Monochrome.”

Will Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Be The Last Season?

As we have mentioned before, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will continue till Part 4. However, there’s a catch! The final arc of the manga isn’t that long. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 ended with chapter 610. As for the final arc, there are only 686 chapters available to cover. Since Bleach adapts five chapters per episode, the source material is limited. Plus, the manga is already concluded. That slims down the chances of Part 4. However, no need to fret! That’s because Tite Kubo is working with Studio Pierrot to add more material.

That’s why it’s possible for anime to explore minute details in every part of the final arc. Since the series isn’t true to the manga arc, it remains unclear what Part 4 will look like. For that, fans have to wait for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 since it will only give an idea of how things will move in the final part.

  • Re: Zero Season 3 Episode 1 Is Set To Premiere On October 2!

After the two successful seasons, the hit Isekai series Re: Zero returns with another jaw-dropping season. That’s right! Re: Zero Season 3, the highly anticipated season is on the cards. Finally, after four years of waiting, the anime returns to enchant its fans with magic and excellent narration. Despite that, things aren’t in the Isekai anime’s favor. Although the series is gearing up for its return, the anime has faced major setbacks due to some undisclosed circumstances. So, does it mean the third installment won’t be out this year? Let’s find out.

Based on the Japanese web novel Re: Zero, it centers on Subaru Natsuki’s ability to turn back time after he dies. After suddenly being summoned to a fantasy-like world, Subaru learns about his magical power. That further helps him save his young half-elf friend, Emilia, who is the candidate for the next ruler of the Lugunica Kingdom. After saving her life, Subaru starts living in the palace to help Emilia achieve her goal. During this time, he also assists his new friends while carrying the memory of everything that happened before his death.

Re: Zero Season 3 Is Officially Back

Finally, after four years of waiting, Kadokawa made the surprising announcement regarding Re: Zero Season 3 release date. One of the popular isekai series is finally returning to claim its throne. The third season was announced on March 23, 2024, at AnimeJapan Expo. The series renewal news is confirmed via a short teaser trailer. The 2-minute long teaser trailer begins with a bandaged-covered woman introducing herself as Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult named Sirius Romanee-Conti.

Shortly after, the scene shifted to Subaru Natsuki and his half-elf friend heading to a new and unfamiliar place. The teaser trailer suggests that the pair will be followed by their friend and meet a group of new people on their journey. It also highlights new characters and how they could help Subaru Natsuki. While little detail is unveiled at this moment, Re: Zero Season 3 will make a grand return. That’s because the third season’s first episode will be a 90-minute special episode.

Well, it has now become a trend in anime to release the first episode in theatres. Likewise, Re: Zero Season 3 release date for Episode 1 will be August 30, 2024, and will remain there for two weeks. In addition, it was also revealed that the screening of the first episode will take place at AnimeExpo 2024 on July 7, 2024. After Oshi No Ko‘s successful theatre release, Re: Zero is expected to meet with the same excitement.

Crunchyroll Pulled Its Special Screening Of Re: Zero Season 3 Episode 1

It was announced that the hour-long special episode would be first screened at Japan Expo Paris 2024. However, it was canceled from its schedule due to some undisclosed circumstances. Crunchyroll’s official French X posted an update about the screening of the first episode of Re: Zero Season 3. The anime streaming giant wrote, “Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control,” they were forced to cancel the screening of the third season’s first episode. However, the rest of the screening and events would remain the same.

Re: Zero Season 3 Episode 1 release date
    Crunchyroll/ Emilia

Crunchyroll also apologized for the situation. Japan Expo, which was hosted in Paris from July 11-14, 2024, was the largest Japanese cultural convention. This year, the Expo hosted 680 cultural events, and hundreds of exhibitors participated. The anime streaming giant released the schedule on July 10, and Re: Zero—Starting Life in Another World was the surprise addition to the Expo. However, just a day before the screening of the first episode, it was abruptly canceled.

While the reason remained unclear, many believed it was the recent Tower of God Episode 2 leak, which was screened at Anime Expo 2024. The leaked episode was uploaded to several torrent sites with Anime Expo 2024 watermark. This might be the reason behind Re: Zero Season 3 Episode 1’s screening cancelation. Kodakowa, the publisher behind the anime, has already been a victim of a major data leak. That’s why the anime studio White Fox has decided not to spoil the anime.

Crunchyroll Is Ready To Take Action

Despite the screening cancelation of the first episode of Re: Zero Season 3, the anime faced a dark fate. The series’ first episode was leaked, and it remained unclear how this leak happened. In the wake of the recent leak, a Crunchyroll spokesperson commented that they are aware of the content leak and are currently investigating to identify the source of this leak. The anime streaming giant confirmed that their team is ready to act.

Dozens of anime titles were leaked online, including SpongeBob spinoff Plankton: The Movie, Dan Da Dan, Arcane Season 2, and Terminator Zero. Re: Zero isn’t the only leak; several high-profile Crunchyroll animes have faced a dark fate. That’s why she asks Subaru about the defeat of the Three Mabeasts and the Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult. Another character named Capella Emerada will join Re: Zero Season 3. However, her voice actress has yet to be revealed. Further, Konomi Suzuki will be performing the opening theme song of Re: Zero Season 3 titled “Reweave.” Meanwhile, MYTH & ROID will perform the ending theme titled “NOX LUX.”

What To Expect From Re: Zero Season 3?

The third season will witness a time skip. Following the liberation of the Sanctuary in the second season, the Royal Selection will begin. Emilia’s Camp is working towards the King’s Selection after the battle against the Great Rabbit is over. However, Natsuki Subaru’s days of having fun will be over after an invitation letter from a messenger hints at the end of the peace and the beginning of the new battle.

It’s a letter from Anastasia inviting Emilia to the Five Major Cities of Lungunica—the floodgate city of Pristella. Although Emilia accepts the offer and heads to Pristella, things won’t be in her favor. Some unexpected dark fate has yet to come. Evil intentions lurk around the corner, and soon, things will take a dark turn, leaving Natsuki once again fighting for his stance. In Re: Zero Season 3, Subaru will also explore the depth of his psyche and the consequences of his decisions.

Re: Zero Season 3 expected plot details
    Crunchyroll

Re: Zero Season 3 is expected to explore Arcs 5 and 6 of the light novel series, featuring Priestella and the Pleiades Watchtower. Since the arcs are quite important, at least a four-cour adaptation is needed to give them justice. Considering this, there’s a possibility that the third season will be divided into two cours of a total of 40 episodes. So far, the anime has remained true to its source material, adapting Volumes 1 to 15 of the web novel. Since the series is ongoing, we expect it to run for more seasons.

Re: Zero Season 3 Release Date

Despite facing a dark fate, Re: Zero is ready to take its throne. The series is gearing up for its fall 2024 release. The official announcement says Re: Zero Season 3 will be released in two parts. The first part, “Shugeki-hen,” will be aired on October 2, 2024. Well, such a genre always has a huge fan following. Despite that, Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 release date remains in limbo. Avid anime fans have been clamoring for the next season. But it seems like they will be met with unpleasant news. In this article, we will discuss what’s stopping the studio house from returning with Skeleton Knight In Another World.

Based on Ennki Hakari’s light novel series, Skeleton Knight In Another World is an Isekai anime that follows the journey of Arc. After an unnamed gamer unexpectedly enters the gaming world, he uses his avatar name and body to accomplish his tasks. During his journey, he helps several noble people from the bandits. However, his life takes a U-turn when he encounters the elf Diento and learns about the never-ending animosity between humans and elves.

Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2: Is It Renewed Yet?

The pilot season debuted back on April 7, 2022, and ran until June 23, 2022, creating an uproar in the anime industry. Throughout its run, it has captivated many hearts with its marvelous narration and stellar visuals. Despite that, the anime committee hasn’t yet announced Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2 release date. This has left many to wonder whether the series didn’t perform well on the international platform. But that’s not the case.

Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2 Renewed and release date
    Crunchyroll

In fact, the series received positive acclaim from the audience as well as critics. It has also won many hearts with its epic fighting scenes. The series garnered positive ratings of 7 out of 10 on IMDb, 4.7/5 on Crunchyroll, and 7.2 out of 10 on MyAnimeList. This shows that the anime performed much better than expected. Despite that, the studio house has remained mum about the second season. It’s been two years, and many believe the series has been shelved since it’s quite common in the anime industry. Has it been shelved? Let’s find out!

    Reason Behind The Studio’s Silence

Studio Kai is the studio behind the first season of Skeleton Knight In Another World. The series received massive popularity just after its debut, turning out to be profitable for the studio house. This led many to believe the studio house would return with Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2. But it hasn’t happened, leaving many to wonder what could be the reason behind this delay. Has Studio Kai forgotten about the series?

Speaking of Studio Kai, the animation studio was founded in June 2019 by ADK Emotions. So far, the studio has animated several hit series like Uma Musume Pretty Derby 2nd Season, Shine Post, Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth Arc, and Fuuto PI. As of now, the studio house is busy working on Sentenced to be a Hero and Fuuto Tantei: Kamen Rider Skull no Shozo. Since the studio animates two anime per year, there’s a slim chance that the animation studio will return with Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2 release date this year.

Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2 and studio house
    Crunchyroll

In addition, there’s a slim chance that it will return to make more animes. That’s because, as per the Official Government Gazette, Studio Kai has been in debt. The animation studio has suffered substantial financial losses. As per the reports, it has lost around 1 billion Yen during its operations. In 2021, it lost 104 million yen, later increased to 381 million Yen in 2022, which is roughly $2.82 million. So, Studio Kai is in debt by 1.37 billion yen. This might be the reason why the studio house isn’t planning to return with Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2.

Will Studio Kai Ever Return With Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2?

As mentioned above, Studio Kai is currently in debt with a negative income of 1.05 billion yen. So it doesn’t seem like it will be fine with the animation studio to return with another season of Skeleton Knight In Another World. That’s because the production cost to animate such a fine graphic work requires a lot of money. It seems like Studio Kai is currently out of a position to return with Gaikotsu Kishi-sama Tadaima Isekai e Odekake-chu Season 2.

However, if Studio Kai returns with another season of Skeleton Knight In Another World, it will likely turn out profitable for the animation studio. That’s because anime is in high demand, and many are eager to know Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2 release date. So if the studio returns with the second season, there’s a high chance it will become a commercial hit, helping the studio house to clear its debt. But again, the decision is entirely in Studio Kai’s hands.

Will A New Studio Enter The Picture?

As things are turning quite problematic for Studio Kai, many speculate that another animation studio will pick the series. Currently, Studio Kai holds the rights for Skeleton Knight In Another World, so it’s highly unlikely that a new studio house will pick the show. But things change with time. If Studio Kai remains in debt for longer, it might create more complications for the animation studio. In such a case, there’s a chance that it might sell the rights of the anime to another studio house.

Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2 studio house chances
    Crunchyroll

If this happens, then we can witness the change in the studio. Well, it’s not a new thing in the anime industry. There are many animes whose studio was changed after the first season. So, if the anime committee renews the show for the second season, Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2, it’s possible for the series to return with a new studio house.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

Another reason for the series to return is the availability of the original source material. The anime is based on the light novel series written by Ennki Hakari and illustrated by KeG. It started serializing in October 2014 on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. The best part is that the light novel is currently ongoing. So, this suggests there’s ample source material to make Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2.

As of now, the LN has been collected into 10 volumes, and the 11th volume is about to be released on April 22, 2025. Plus, the anime has roughly adapted from a manga series by Akira Sawano. Since the anime has only adapted the first volume of the light novel and Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the manga series, ample source material remains to be covered. This is a great sign, which suggests more chapters can be adapted into Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2.

    Crunchyroll

In addition, the renewal decision is also based on the sales of manga and light novel series. As of April 17, 2021, the light novel series had 1.5 million copies in circulation. Thus, the popularity of anime has increased the sales of light novels. This shows the possibility of Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2. However, everything depends on the production house whether they want to return with another season or not.

Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2: What To Expect Next?

The first season finale began with the Hydra attack. The Hydra attacked Ariane, Arc, and Chiyome with its fiery breath. This led Fumba to believe that things were now in his control as Hydra had destroyed everything. So, Fumba sent the Hydra to destroy Kaysehk. But in reality, Arc protected everyone with his Holy Shield. While Arc decided to protect Kaysehk, Ariane vowed to destroy Fumba. She and Chiyome later chased Fumba while Arc dealt with Hydra. Before the latter could reach Kaysehk, Arc summoned the Infernal Demon Ifrit to destroy Hydra.

As for Ariane and Chiyome, they caught Fumba and damaged the magical body markings that helped him control the monsters. Later, Ariane used her fiery sword to destroy Fumba. Meanwhile, Ifrit’s attack damaged Hydra. On the other hand, Princess Yuriarna paid a visit to Lord Fangas and Elven Elders Dillan and agreed to take responsibility for the crime against the elves. When Ariane learned the news, she became anxious about the future.

Meanwhile, Yuriarna wondered about her own destiny. On the other hand, Chiyome saw Arc’s face for the first time. Now, in Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2, Arc will continue his journey. After helping the elves, the skeleton warrior will find another destiny to help people. However, it remains unclear when the series will return.

Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2 Release Date

As of now, it remains unclear when the second season will return. However, if the anime committee announces the show for the second season, we believe it will take longer to return with Skeleton Knight In Another World Season 2. The production will take 12 to 18 months to wrap up the animation work. If the show follows the same timeframe, we can expect it to return sometime in 2025. This is all for now. • Overlord Season 5: Will Not Return This Year! Know Why?

Since Overlord debuted back in 2015, it has been making waves in the entertainment world. However, it’s been almost two years, and we haven’t learned anything about Overlord Season 5 release date. Is it still on the cards? While the chances for the future installment remain scarce, the light novel author has hinted at the future of the series. Does it mean the author is planning to return with more seasons? Curious to know? Then, keep reading!

Based on a Japanese light novel by Kugane Maruyama, Overlord is set in 2126. The anime focuses on a role-playing game called YGGDRASIL. After the game was shut down, the protagonist, a skeletal Lich “Overlord” character’s player, got trapped inside the game. With nowhere to be gone, Momonga decided to search for other members to uncover the mystery surrounding the game. Amid this, Momonga had to protect Nazarick and continue his guild, Ainz Ooal Gown.

Overlord Season 5: Renewed Or Canceled?

Die-hard fans have been looking forward to the next season of Overlord since the anime’s fourth season ended in 2022. It’s been almost two years, and we haven’t heard anything about Overlord Season 5. This further led many to conclude that the production house and the author aren’t planning to return with the fifth season of Overlord. However, Crunchyroll hasn’t confirmed that the series has been canceled. Instead, considering the author’s statement, it seems like the anime series has been shelved.

As per a Reddit thread, the manga series author Kagune Maruyama revealed in a press conference that the chances of Overlord Season 5 are slim. According to the user, the author is dissatisfied with the English dub, which led him to make a bold decision. Maruyama expressed that the English dub had ruined the nature of the anime. While the decision behind the renewal has remained under wraps, the series author’s stance against dubbing hints at the dark fate of the series.

Many also believe that the author’s decision to end the anime with four seasons is relevant, considering the quality of the English dub. While Overlord Season 5’s release date remains unclear, another user suggests that the anime has been canceled. That’s because the anime industry is known for leaving its series unfinished. This might be the case with Overlord as well. However, nothing is written on stone yet. So, we expect Crunchyroll or Madhouse Studio to make an official announcement sooner or later.

Author’s Financial Condition To Be Blamed

Since the Reddit user revealed that Maruyama isn’t planning to return with the future installment, a fierce debate is ongoing. In the heat of the debate, another user revealed that the author has planned to return with Overlord Season 5. However, his decision faced a grim fate. The Reddit user clarified that the author has nothing to do with the English dub of the anime. Instead he was concerned about the circulation of his light novel.

Maruyama expressed his concerns on X, formerly known as Twitter, not at a press conference. It’s become challenging for the author to publish his last two light novels as the English translations aren’t official. Sometimes, unauthorized translations lead to delays or financial loss from authors and publishers. This might be the reason why Maruyama isn’t looking forward to returning with the next volume. However, his fans are willing to support him by buying the original volumes. Despite that, the chances of Overlord Season 5 seem slim.

Initially Envisioned For Two More Seasons

In May 2016, Kugane Maruyama tweeted on his official X account that Overlord would be completed in 18 volumes. Although he didn’t share much about the future installments, the author posted that he’s hopeful about finishing the gritty dark fantasy light novel series with 18 volumes—only if KADOKAWA allows it to be published. However, the author also expressed concern about its unauthorized translation, sharing that it could destroy his work.

Overlord Season 5: When Will Production Begin?

As of now, nothing is known about the series’ production. The anime has yet to be greenlit, which means the production will take time to begin. If the series is renewed this year, we can expect it to undergo production later this year. However, nothing is crystal clear at this moment. As for the studio house behind the anime, Madhouse is working on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Trillion Game, and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth.

Overlord Season 5 Production house and status
    Crunchyroll

Since Madhouse animates three to four animes annually, it doesn’t seem like it will return with Overlord Season 5 sooner. The studio house was founded in 1972 by ex-Mushi Pro staff. Since then, it has created several marvelous animes, films, and OVAs. Some of them are Death Note, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Hunter X Hunter, and more.

Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Anime Film Announced

While fans have been waiting for Overlord Season 5 release date, the studio house confirmed the series will get its film adaptation. The anime film was announced back in October 2021, revealing it is set to come to theaters in Japan in 2024. Surprisingly, in late March of 2024, KADOKAWA released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming movie Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom. The 1-minute teaser trailer begins with the knights bowing in front of the Sacred Queen.

The scene quickly shifts to the battlefield, teasing the Roeble Sacred Kingdom, a small country under invasion. As the trailer unfolds, it hints at the looming battle. Now, it remains to be seen which side will win: the demon and undead or the sacred kingdom. While it’s just the beginning of the gruesome war, the trailer ending hints at the Sacred King’s dark fate. Will he die in the end? Enjoy the trailer below.

In addition to the trailer, Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom has also revealed the cast details. As per the official announcement, Yoshi Aoyama will voice Neia, Haruka Tomatsu will voice Kelart, Saori Hayami will voice Calca, and Hitomi Nabatame will voice Remedios.

Overlord Season 5: What Might Have Happened?

As of now, it remains unclear when the series will get its fifth season. However, since the series is an adaptation of the light novel by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by So-bin, we believe it will explore the final arc. The light novel started serializing in 2010 and is currently ongoing. It has 16 volumes, and so far, the anime has covered up to Volume 11. As for the anime film, Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom is set to cover Volumes 12 and 13.

This means the fifth season will likely cover Vol 14 to 18. However, one thing to note is that Maruyama hasn’t yet released Vol 17 and 18. So, Overlord Season 5 might delve into Volumes 14, 15, and 16. The three volumes are entirely based on the war. It shows the world of Overlord on the edge of collapse as the war breaks down. Nazarick declares war on Re-Estize Kingdom. It quickly creates problems for the main character, Ainz Ooal Gown.

    Crunchyroll

Since the War of Annihilation begins, fans can see the Re-Estize Kingdom and the Sorcerer Kingdom going head to head to save their kingdom. Meanwhile, Ainz’s guild headquarters seem to be located in the middle of the battleground, creating more complications for the anime’s main character. So, to ease things up, he and his other guild members will decide to bring down the Sorcerer Kingdom to protect their headquarters and guild. While the war intensifies the challenges, Ainz will come up with better decisions.

    Overlord Season 5 Cast Details

If Overlord Season 5 returns, then the anime’s core characters and voice actors will definitely make their return. This, of course, means that Ainz Ooal Gown, who serves as the series’ protagonist, will return with his fellow guild members. These include Albedo, the twin dark elves Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore, and the suit-wearing demon Demiurge. They will undoubtedly return to join Ainz in his next quest for power. The voice actors for the mentioned characters are:

    • Ainz Ooal Gown – Satoshi Hino (Japanese), Chris Guerrero (English)
    • Albedo – Yumi Hara (Japanese), Elizabeth Maxwell (English)
    • Demiurge – Masayaki Katou (Japanese), Jeff Johnson (English)
    • Mare Bello Fiore – Yumi Uchiyama (Japanese), Megan Shipman (English)
    • Aura Bella Fiora – Emiri Kato (Japanese), Chris Guerrero (English)
    • Lumiere – Saori Onishi (Japanese), Jennifer Alyx (English)
    • Antilene Heran Fouche – Yukari Tamura (Japanese), Monica Rial (English)

    Overlord Season 5 Release Date

The series has yet to be announced, so it’s highly unlikely that Overlord Season 5 will be released in 2025. If the series undergoes production this year, then it will take a couple of years to finish production. This means the Overlord Season 5 release date will fall in 2026/2027. But don’t be disheartened.

Overlord Season 5 Release Date updates and news
    Crunchyroll

This is because Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom is likely to air in the fall of 2024. According to the reports, it will hit IMAX in Japan on September 13, 2024, while the theatrical release in Japan will be on September 20, 2024. As for the North American release date, the movie will hit the theatre on November 8, 2024, just a few months after its Japan release. This is all for now. • Rising Impact Season 3 Will Return In 2025!

After the second powerful season of Netflix’s Rising Impact, anime enthusiasts have been wondering whether the series will return with another season. While Rising Impact Season 3 is one of the most anticipated anime of this year, the streaming platform has remained mum. This has left many concerned about the future of anime. Will the series ever return? Did it fail to perform well on the streaming platform? As such questions keep buzzing in fans’ minds, we have got you covered. So, without further ado, let’s see what Netflix has in store for us.

Based on Nakaba Suzuki’s manga series, Rising Impact follows the story of Gawain, a younger boy who loves baseball. While his love for baseball is untouched, he falls in love with golf after meeting Kiria Nishino. Since Kiria is drawn to Gawain’s natural talent, the former decides to help Gawain in enrolling at Camelot Academy, an elite school for aspiring golfers.

Rising Impact Season 3: Is It Renewed Yet?

Netflix recently launched its original ONA Rising Impact, which released its first and second seasons this year. While the series became one of the streaming giant’s most famous animes, Netflix has yet to announce Rising Impact Season 3. The anime debuted on June 22, 2024, releasing 12 episodes in one go. It didn’t take much time to land with its second season. The anime released its second season on August 6, 2024.

Rising Impact Season 3 Renewed and release date
    Netflix

Since the second season has just been dropped, it doesn’t seem like the streaming platform will announce a renewal soon. Netflix typically takes a couple or more months to announce its decision. However, since the streaming platform is working on expanding its ONA streaming list, there’s a high chance that Netflix might return with Rising Impact Season 3. Besides this, the renewal is based on the viewership graph. However, the viewership graph has remained under wrap. Thus, it remains unclear when Netflix will make an announcement.

Chances Of Rising Impact Season 3

At the time of writing, Netflix has yet to officially renew the show for another season. Though the renewal is awaited, the first season made history. After its debut, the show broke into Netflix’s Global Top Ten TV (Non-English). However, it only remained in the top ten for one week. The anime gathered one million views between June 24 and June 30, securing ninth position in the top ten streaming list.

    Rising Impact Season 3 chances
    Netflix

As for the second season, it gained huge popularity in Japan and New Caledonia. The series remained in the Global Top Ten for one week in 14 countries. Since the anime performed incredibly well on Netflix, many believe the streaming giant will soon make an announcement. However, the streaming platform has remained mum on its decision, which has left many to wonder about the fate of the anime. Will it ever return with Rising Impact Season 3? Only time will tell.

Rising Impact Season 3: Manga Vs. Anime

The anime is an adaptation of Nakaba Suzuki’s manga series of the same name. It was serialized from November 1998 to February 2002 in Shueisha’s Shonen manga magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump. Since the series has concluded, source material is limited, but that doesn’t mean it is scarce. According to reports, the manga has collected its chapters in 17 tankobon volumes.

The first and second seasons have covered till Volume 13, wrapping up the Camelot Cup Arc. While the second season neatly wrapped up the Camelot Cup Arc, many believe the streaming platform will return with another season. The renewal is based on viewership and the availability of source material. Although the manga has a total of 17 volumes, there are four more volumes left to be covered in Rising Impact Season 3.

Rising Impact Season 3 Studio and the manga vs anime plot
    Netflix

This shows that Netflix can return with one more season to delve into the manga’s final arc. Undoubtedly, the chances of Rising Impact Season 3 are high as the series can return with a dozen or more episodes to conclude the story arc. In addition, a new edition of the manga was released on May 2, which recently dropped its eighth volume on August 2, 2024. So, based on this, we believe the streaming platform and Lay-duce can return with more seasons of Rising Impact.

    Will Lay-duce Return?

Studio Lay-duce was behind the first two seasons of Rising Impact. The animation studio was founded in August 2013 by former Bones producer Yonai Norimoto. So far, the studio has created several stellar animes, including Classroom Crisis, Heroines Run the Show, Release the Spyce, and Tomo-chan is a Girl! Since the animation studio is known for creating several commercially hit animes, it may return to animate Rising Impact Season 3.

That’s because the animation studio had produced the first two seasons. So, it’s highly likely that it will return with the third season of the ONA. However, there’s a catch! The studio house is currently working on its latest project, Compass 2.0 Combat Providence Analysis System and Clevatess. Since the studio house creates two animes per year, it’s highly unlikely that it will return with Rising Impact Season 3 this year.

Rising Impact Season 3 Cast Details

If the anime returns with Rising Impact Season 3, we expect the core characters to return with their voice artists. The anime can also expect to see some new characters in the upcoming season. These include:

    • Gawain Nanaumi – Misaki Kuno (Japanese), Debi Derryberry (English)
    • Lancelot Norma – Yumiri Hanamori (Japanese), Kieran Regan (English)
    • Kiria Nishino – Yo Taichi (Japanese), Abby Trott (English)
    • Kurumi Nishino – Atsumi Tanezaki (Japanese), Collen O’Shaughnessey (English)
    • Yumiko Koizumi – Kaede Hondo (Japanese), Julie Nathanson (English)
    • Liebel Ringvald – Yuto Uemura (Japanese), Chris Hackney (English)
    • Platalissa Bonaire – Yumi Uchiyama (Japanese), Erin Yvette (English)
    • Wanglian Li – Eiji Takamoto (Japanese), Michael Yurchak (English)
    • Riser Hopkins – Shunsuke Takeuchi (Japanese), Nicolas Roye (English)
Rising Impact Season 3 Cast details
    Netflix

Besides them, if the animation studio will return, then we believe the entire staff will return as well. These include:

    • Director: Hitoshi Nanba
    • Scriptwriter: Michihiro Tsuchiya
    • Character Designer: Kiyotaka Oshiyama
    • Music Composer: Masaru Yokoyama

Rising Impact Season 3: What To Expect Next?

The second season ended with the climatic tournament Camelot Cup. It took place in Camelot Academy, where the golfers competed against each other. Lancelot and Gawain played against the British duo Percival and Tristan, who triumphed over the American team. As the anime unfolded, it revealed that Tristan joined the Camelot Academy the day his father died. That was why he was obsessed with the sport. While Tristan aimed to master golf, Lancelot started doubting himself after discovering that Tristan was better than him.

While the golfers gave each other a tough fight, Gawain was ultimately disqualified. That was because he was struck by the ball in his head, making him unfit to play. As Gawain was out of the game, Tristan automatically won the tournament. However, Tristan was upset with this victory, and later, Gawain received a chance to be trained by the Elite team. However, he refused because he wanted to become the best golfer without the Elite team.

Rising Impact Season 3 Plot details
    Netflix

Despite Gawain’s defeat, Rising Impact Season 3 will witness his mysterious connection to Arthur Phoenix. The upcoming season will focus on the Konashi Country Jr. tournament, where he will meet a former Camelot student. While this student will work on his love life, Arthur will be determined to recruit Gawain. As the series will focus on its final arc, we expect the show to focus on how Gawain finally makes it to the finals.

Is Rising Impact Season 3 The Final Season?

The anime has already covered Volume 13, leaving only four more volumes to be covered. Since the series has entered its final arc, it doesn’t seem like the show will return with more seasons. That is because a lot has already been covered. So, the third season will mark the end of the series. But wait! The manga has already released its new edition, which has eight volumes. So, if Netflix and the animation studio wish to expand the series, they can return with more seasons.

In addition, Rising Impact Season 3 hasn’t been announced yet. So, there’s a possibility that the streaming platform might return with a feature film to bridge the gap between seasons 2 and 3. Besides this, the streaming platform can also return with a split season, covering the entire manga arc in one season. Nothing has been known, but we will update you soon.

Netflix has yet to renew the anime for the third season. The streaming platform surprised the fans by dropping back-to-back seasons of Rising Impact. While the first two seasons created an uproar in the anime industry, it remains unclear when the show will return with a third season. As of now, the streaming platform has yet to announce Rising Impact Season 3, but we expect it will make an announcement soon. If that’s the case, the series might return in the second quarter of 2025. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2: Production Confirmed

Absolutely, yes! During the Otakon 2024 panel, the anime committee announced that the show was ready for production. That’s right! The series has entered production earlier in August. While nothing more is revealed about the anime, we do know that the production will take longer than expected. According to the source, production will face slight delays due to funding issues. The series has been a global hit, so it makes sense that the animation work should be top-notch. That’s why things will be complicated a lot in The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2.

However, if the funding issues are sidelined, the popular anime will take its usual time to return. Typically, the anime takes 12 to 18 months to conclude production. As for The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic, the pilot season was announced on August 15, 2021, and it took only six months to wrap up the production work. If that is the case, we expect The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2 to follow the same timeframe. So, the show will likely take six months to wrap up the animation work.

However, one thing to note here is that anime is currently linked to several complications. This might cause further delays in production. But nothing has been known to this date. So, it’s 50-50 whether the production will take a year or longer to conclude.

Which Studio Will Produce The Anime?

Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation produced the first season. While Studio Add is little known, Shin-Ei Animation was founded in December 1966. Daikichiro Kusube, the former animator of Toei Animation, established the production house. So far, the animation studio has created several commercially successful animes, including Perman, Doraemon, Crayon Shin-Chan, Kaibutsu-kun: Hiroshi’s Betrayal, and Stitch! Perfect Memory.

The animation studio is known for animating three to four animes per year. Since it has produced three animes this year, it’s highly unlikely that it will return with The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2 sooner. But there’s a catch! The official announcement didn’t mention anything about the animation studio. In fact, it hasn’t been revealed whether Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation will return to make the second season. This led many to wonder whether both studio houses wouldn’t return.

    Crunchyroll

Many believe the anime will return with a new studio house and staff members. That being said, the old staff members won’t return. Takahide Ogata directed the first season, Elements Garden composed the music, Shogo Yasukawa was in charge of the series composition, and Keiji Tanabe was the character designer. If the former staff returns, then we expect to see the above-mentioned team return to animate The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2.

The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2 Cast Details

As of now, nothing is known about the series cast. The official announcement video hasn’t revealed whether the main voice actors will return. However, it’s safe to assume that all the cast members will return as the show won’t be The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2 without them. These include:

    • Ken Usato – Shogo Sakata (Japanese), Alejandro Saab (English)
    • Suzune Inukami – Ayaka Nanase (Japanese), Alexis Tipton (English)
    • Kazuki Ryusen – Kengo Takanashi (Japanese), Matt Holmes (English)
    • Rose – Atsuko Tanaka (Japanese), Colleen Clinkenbeard (English)

    • Orga – Genta Nakamura (Japanese), Landon McDonald (English)
    • Ururu – Yoshino Aoyama (Japanese), Nia Celeste (English)
    • Tong – Kentaro Ito (Japanese), David Wald (English)

The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2: What Will Happen Next?

The first season finale began with Usato and Inukami discussing the details of Beastkin Territory with Amako at Rescue Team HQ. The latter revealed that she left the territory in search of a healer. Amako also revealed that only humans were capable of wielding healing magic, and since Usato was a healer and a fighter, he would be a great help. To help Amako, Usato headed to Beastkin and saved the former’s mother. On his way, Usato learned the Black Knight’s name was Felm.

He later gifted her a diary while Felm spied on Usato during his training session. As things started to move in a perfect direction, King thanked Amako for guiding Usato and even blessed him. As for Usato, he requested Aruku to be his special escort. Meanwhile, after learning about Usato’s mission, Felm decided to tag along with him secretly. But she was caught by Rose. After this incident, Rose gave Usato final advice and told him she believed him.

Since everything turned peaceful in the end, we expect The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Season 2 to begin with Usato’s journey. He is now heading for the final battle. Since he has learned a lot in his training sessions, it will help him fight evil. But can he alone handle such a situation? Only time will tell.

  • Yona Of The Dawn Season 2: Re-Releasing On 20th Anniversary

The last time we saw Akatsuki no Yona was in 2015, and since then, anime enthusiasts haven’t had a chance to revisit the Crimson Dragon God’s land. While it’s been a decade, many are still clamoring for Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 release date. Will it ever get a second season? The anime has always been close to its fans’ hearts. Despite that, the series received a dark fate. It’s been years since we haven’t seen our favorite series; many believed the chances of its returns were close to zero. However, we have pleasant news that suggests Yona Of The Dawn can return with another season. Keep reading to know that.

Based on Mizuho Kusanagi’s manga series of the same name, the anime is set in the fictional nation of Kouka. The fantasy series follows the journey of Kouka’s princess, Yona, who was forced to flee from her lavish life after her father’s death. With her childhood friend and bodyguard Hak, Yona planned to form her cult to take back what belonged to her. During this time, she met dragon warriors who helped her achieve her goal.

Yona Of The Dawn Season 2: Is It Renewed Yet?

Akatsuki no Yona debuted in 2014 and aired until March 2015. Its 24 episodes left fans on their toes as they delved deeper into Yona’s journey. As the anime unfolded, it explored the dragon warrior background and how things turned in Yona’s favor. While the series remained one of the most-watched anime of that year, its fate remained in limbo. It’s been a decade, and Studio Pierrot hasn’t yet renewed the anime for another season, Yona Of The Dawn Season 2.

Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 Renewed and release date updates
    Crunchyroll

There’s no denying that the series has remained the studio’s most popular anime series. Despite that, Studio Pierrot avoided exploring the show for another season. This has left many to believe that perhaps the show has been shelved. However, the series performed incredibly well on the streaming platform. It garnered 8 stars out of 10 on IMDb and MyAnimeList. Meanwhile, on Crunchyroll, the anime gained 4.8/5. Such a high rating hints that the anime should return with another season.

But Studio Pierrot hasn’t yet commented on Yona Of The Dawn’s Season 2 renewal. In fact, it has been staying mum about the second season. This has led many to believe that maybe the studio house isn’t planning to return in another season. If that’s the case, things will undoubtedly become problematic for the Yona Of The Dawn fans.

Yona Of The Dawn’s Huge Popularity Hints At Potential Season 2

While the anime only dropped the first season, it returned with three OVAs. The first was released on September 18, 2015, the second on August 19, 2016, and the third on December 20, 2016. Yona Of The Dawn later also released the Blu-ray disk. However, the sales of the Blu-ray disk were low. That might have affected the chances of Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 release date. Since the animation studio always looks for profitability, Blu-ray’s poor sales have somewhat affected the return chances of the anime.

Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 Popularity updates and news details
    Crunchyroll

However, things changed with time. Initially, the poor performance of the OVAs and Blu-ray created problems for the anime. But it was later changed. By February 2022, the manga had 14 million copies in circulation. It was later increased to 15 million copies by June 2024. Such an amazing performance hints at the possible return of Yona Of The Dawn Season 2. But again, the decision is in the animation studio’s hands.

New Merch Sparks Hope For Season 2

Yona Of The Dawn dropped its latest merchandise for fans in April 2023. Studio Pierrot announced the anime’s new merchandise, in which Yona and her fellow characters can be seen enjoying the cherry blossoms. While the merchandise sales were decent, fans were more concerned about the next season. Many believe it’s a way to announce Yona Of The Dawn Season 2. While some were optimistic about the second season, others reminded that it had nothing to do with the anime’s sophomore run.

Numerous fans called for Yona Of The Dawn Season 2. However, some mocked with light-hearted warnings that there isn’t a chance for the series to return with another season. Despite that, the optimistic fans called for the series renewal or a reboot. Well, the show is inching closer to its tenth anniversary. Studio Pierrot is known for renewing the series on its tenth anniversary. If you remember, it picked Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War almost after a decade. So, there’s a chance for the second season as well.

Yona Of The Dawn Season 2: Manga Vs. Anime

As mentioned before, the anime is an adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi. It started serializing on August 5, 2009, in Hakusensha’s shojo manga magazine Hana to Yume. The manga is currently ongoing. It has 257 chapters, which are collected in 44 volumes by June 20, 2024. Since the manga is ongoing, ample source material is left to explore. The first season of anime has covered till volume 47, which means there is enough material left to be covered in more than one season.

However, there’s a catch! The first season wasn’t true to its source material. Episode 23 concluded at the end of chapter 40 of the manga. However, they skipped the “Fake Dragon Scale Gag” chapter 41 and began exploring chapters 42, 43, and 47. Later, episode 24 skipped the major chapter 48 and explored the opening of chapter 49. This shows that if Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 returns, it will focus on chapter 50. It remains unclear whether the anime will return with a time jump or might pick the pace from Chapter 50.

Do We Need Yona Of The Dawn Season 2?

Absolutely yes! The show began with the Crimson Dragon God descended to Earth as a human. He later established his own kingdom but learned that the land was filled with greedy humans who desired power. Despite everything, The Crimson Dragon King managed to restore prosperity and power in Kouka with the help of four Dragon Gods. However, after his death, the four Dragon Warriors established their five separate tribes.

Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 Plot details and expectations
    Crunchyroll

In the first season, Yona is forced to escape with her bodyguard to find the four Dragon Warriors. The season focuses on each warrior’s story arc and personal growth, except for the last dragon, Zeno. However, his story arc played a crucial part in the two-part OVA. Despite that, the ending has left the door open for Yona Of The Dawn Season 2. It has yet to reveal how Yona convinces the four Dragon Warriors to help her fight back Su-Won. Besides this, Yona and Hak’s relationship is yet to blossom.

Hak and Yona have known each other since their childhood. However, they haven’t yet expressed their true feelings for each other. So if Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 gets renewed, the chances are high that the anime will focus on their blossoming relationship and how they come closer to each other. The series will also focus on Yona’s personal growth and how she learns some fighting techniques from Dragon Warriors.

    Will Studio Pierrot Return?

So far, the studio house hasn’t renewed the series for another season. However, considering its high popularity, there’s a chance the production house might return with Yona Of The Dawn Season 2. Despite its huge popularity, poor merchandise sales have remained the major concern for the studio house in shelving the anime. Many believe the show can return if another studio picks up the series.

Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 return date and news
    Crunchyroll

There’s a slim chance that Studio Pierrot will give up the rights of Yona of the Dawn. It’s been a decade, and the studio house is known for bringing its popular series even after a long wait. So, if Studio Pierrot wants to return with another season, it might make an announcement sooner or later. As of now, the animation studio is busy working on several projects. Such as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Untitled Magical Girl, and Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master. So, it will unlikely return to produce Yona Of The Dawn Season 2.

Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 Release Date

As said earlier, the anime has yet to be announced. Since it’s been a decade, it’s unlikely to return soon. However, Studio Pierrot has been renewing its old gems. So, there’s a possibility that the studio house will return with the anime for another season. If the studio house picks the anime for the next season this year, it will take a couple of years to finish its production. Considering this, Yona Of The Dawn Season 2 will be released sometime in 2026. Well, it’s a tentative date. So fans have to wait for the official announcement. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.

Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest Season 3 Is Back

Arifureta debuted in 2019 and created an uproar in the anime industry. The series’ premise was top-notch, and many clamored for more. The second season wrapped up airing in April 2022, leaving the fate of the series up in the air.

While many believed that the show might have been shelved due to mixed ratings, Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest surprised everyone. First Look Is Out!

The series dropped its brand new trailer for the third season during the series panel at Anime Expo. The trailer is undoubtedly epic, suggesting that Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest Season 3 will be bolder and more insane than its first two seasons. Interesting, right? The preview trailer begins with the RabbitMan tribe. They seem to have an important discussion about something, perhaps how to invade a new territory.

However, before their plan can be revealed, the trailer shifts its narration to Hajime. He seems excited about something. While it remains unclear, the scene again shifts to a blonde girl harassed by a man. The girl is later introduced as the princess of the Heilig Kingdom, who faces a dark fate. After being harassed by another man, she seems to accept it as her destiny. However, the situation changes when she seeks help from Hajime.

The trailer then showcases that some RabbitMan tribe women kill their own tribe’s man in order to protect someone. Meanwhile, Shea appears to attack a group of men. While the fighting scene creates havoc, just then, Hajime enters the picture to save the princess. He later attacks the person who has been harassing the princess. The trailer then ends with revealing the release window of Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest Season 3 and opening theme songs.

    Will Studio Mother Return?

White Fox animated the first season, which Studio Mother later replaced for the second season. While the second season’s animation received a positive response from the audience and critics, the studio house won’t return to animate the series. That’s right! Studio Mother is no longer working for Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest Season 3. As per the official announcement, Studio Asread will animate the third season. The studio house is also behind the production of the first two seasons.

It worked with White Fox and Studio Mother to bring Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest to life. However, Asread will be the sole studio house working on the series now. The studio was founded in November 2003 by former Xebec members. So far, it has created several hit animes, including Shuffle!, Lord of Vermilion: The Crimson King, Future Diary, and Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory. Since the studio house consists of only 23 members, it works on one anime every two years. Thus, its future projects remain unclear. However, we expect that Asread’s official website will soon reveal its details.

Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest Season 3: What To Expect Next?

In the second season finale, Hajime and the group were mysteriously transported to a ruined city. There, they met with new challenges and foes. While they handled everything gracefully, the second season ended on a cliffhanger. So, we can expect that Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest Season 3 will pick up the pace from there. As of now, it remains unclear how things will unfold in Arifureta Season 3. But considering the teaser trailer, we can expect that Hajime and his crew will arrive in Shea’s hometown.

While the team will be excited to meet new people, they will face new challenges. The RabbitMan tribe isn’t ready to accept them and plans to challenge them in a fight. However, things won’t be in their favor. Meanwhile, Hajime will face a new task. This time, he has to prove his skills to save someone’s life. This someone will be a princess. As the series enters its third season, it will delve into the arcs “The Princess’ Ordeal” and “The Empire Vs the Strongest Rabbits.” Hajime will also learn about Shea’s town, the Heilig Kingdom, and the mystery surrounding its hierarchy.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

As mentioned above, the anime is loosely based on the light novel series by Ryo Shirakome and illustrated by Takayaki. The series was published in print from June 2015 to September 2022. Since it has been concluded there could be a scarcity of source material. But it isn’t the case with Arifureta Shokugyo de Sekai Saikyo. The light novel series has 13 volumes, and the first two seasons have only covered until Vol 6. So, there’s ample source material left to delve into.

However, nothing is known about Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongest Season 3 release date. But we can expect that the third season will pick up the pace from Vol 7 and might cover three to four volumes. The series hasn’t been true to its source material. So far, it has loosely covered each volume. So we expect the same with the third season.

  • Fire Force Season 3: Gets 2025 Release Window!

Since the anime enthusiast last saw Fire Force Season 2 back in 2020, they have been clamoring to learn more about its future. However, it’s been almost four years since we have heard anything about the series, and neither have we heard anything about Fire Force Season 3. So the question arises whether the series will ever return with fans’ favorite characters. You’ll be surprised to learn that the studio house has already made the much-needed update. So, does it mean season 3 will return soon? Keep reading to know that.

Based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Atsushi Ohkubo, the anime focuses on the Great Cataclysm, an event that wiped out the world. It was the Year 198 when the incident led Tokyo to form a special fire brigade called Fire Force. They were responsible for fighting spontaneous human combustion. While the situation turned upside-down, it was later revealed that Demons possessed pyrokinesis, causing more damage to society. However, the Holy Sol Temple army remained intact to prevent such changes. But can they continue? Let’s see!

Fire Force Season 3 Release Date: Is It Officially Renewed?

The science fantasy series Fire Force debuted back in 2019 with a bang. Soon after its debut, the series was renewed for the second season. However, the same didn’t happen with Fire Force Season 3. Season 2 aired in December 2020, and fans have waited years to learn about the official statement. There’s no denying that the series performed brilliantly on the platform. In fact,  it received a positive reception from the audience as well as the critics. It gained 9 solid stars out of 10 on IMDb and 7.8 on MyAnimeList.

Thus, it’s enough to suggest that the series should have returned for another season. However, the series got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While it halted many series productions, the pandemic affected Fire Force Season 3’s renewal. Despite that, the series’ official X/Twitter account surprised the fans by announcing the third season. In May 2022, the official account confirmed that the series would return with a third season, leaving fans with tears of joy.

But it’s been almost two years since the series was renewed, and nothing has been known about its future. Well, there’s a possibility that they could face more delays due to issues behind the scenes. However, we will update you as soon as we learn the official news.

Fire Force Season 3: Has Production Begun?

Although little is known about Fire Force Season 3, we can safely say that the series is under development. Almost a year after the official renewal announcement, the official X account of the anime confirmed that the series was finally “in production.” Fans have been waiting for this news since they learned about the series’ future. But again, a year has passed, and nothing is known about the series’ progress. Is it still under development, or has it been shelved?

A lot of disturbing questions are running in the series’ fans’ minds. However, you can hold your horses. That’s because a source confirmed that the series is still in production. Since it’s an action-packed anime, it will take longer to wrap up the production. Fire Force Season 3 is expected to take almost two years to finish production and post-production work.

Will David Production Return To Produce The Series?

Since the series was announced, David Production has served as the studio house behind the series’ animation. The studio has produced the first two seasons of the series. David Production is a Japanese animation studio founded in September 2007. It was founded by the former Gonzo producers Koji Kajita and Taito Okiura. Since then, the production house has produced plenty of big banner series. These include JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Captain Tsubasa, Cells at Work!, and Urusei Yatsura. However, a source confirmed that David Production wouldn’t return to produce Fire Force Season 3.

Despite the studio house being behind the first two seasons, Studio Shaft is now expected to take over from David Production who also made Urusei Yatsura Part 2 . Studio Shaft is a Japanese animation studio founded in 1975. Since then, the studio has released several masterpieces, including Hidamari Sketch, Sayonara, Monogatari, Zetsubou-Sensei, March Comes in Like a Lion, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. While Digital Spy suggests that Studio Shaft will produce Fire Force Season 3, an official announcement hasn’t yet been made.

Fire Force Season 3 release date news updates in 2024
    Crunchyroll

A source posted on X that neither David Production nor Studio Shaft will produce the third season. A new studio house will likely take over Fire Force Season 3. But nothing has been confirmed. However, one thing to note here is that David Production’s official website does suggest that they are currently working on Season 3 of Fire Force. Though the situation seems messed up, we expect David Production to return to animate the series. If this happens, we can expect Yuki Yase to return to the direction. Gakuto Haijima will return as the series scriptwriter, Kenichiro Suehiro as the music composer, and Hideyuki Morioka as the character designer.

Will The Fire Force Get Further Delay?

As mentioned above, whether David Production will return to animate Fire Force Season 3 remains unclear. Thus, there’s ambiguity as to whether the production house will return; if it won’t, then who will take over the production duty remains under wrap. In addition, typically, production takes 12 to 18 months. So, if a new production house joins the show, it will take almost a year to wrap it up. Besides this, such action-heavy shonen shows require a lengthy production period, like a couple of years or more.

Another major factor is the series’ lack of source material. A lot of material has already been adapted. This means the animation studio either has to wait to return with season 3 or create original anime material. However, since the anime has remained true to its source material, we can expect the series might wait to return. Considering all the possibilities, we can expect that Fire Force Season 3 will face more delay than we expected.

Fire Force Season 3: What To Expect Next?

The anime has remained true to its source material. So, there’s no denying that the third season will continue with the “Stigma Arc.” The second season has shown plenty of new demons and the battle between the Holy Sol Temple army with them. However, Fire Force Season 3 is expected to end the arc with a major confrontation between Shinra and Fire Force Members with the White Clad’s leaders. Well, it will undoubtedly make things more challenging for Shinra.

Fire Force Season 3 official annoucement studio change news
    Crunchyroll

But after this huge battle, the third season will delve into the “Obi’s Rescue Arc.” Now, it looks like after the completion of the “Stigma Arc,” Obi will get arrested. This will quickly make things more dramatic for the heroes of Company 8. They have to pick a side, as they can’t sit quietly and see injustice with Obi. So, the heroes may go against their organization to support Captain Obi. Will this bring a revolution? Only time will tell.

    Is There Enough Source Material?

Fire Force is based on Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga series. It started serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from September 2015 to February 2022. The manga has already wrapped up with 34 tankobon volumes, so there isn’t enough material left to cover. However, the first two seasons have covered the manga’s first 174 chapters, covering 20 tankobon volumes. That means two-thirds of the manga series has already been wrapped up. One thing to note here is that both seasons covered 11 volumes in total.

That means the third season will cover the same, covering almost 31 volumes. This means there’s enough source material to cover the third season of Fire Force. But it will mark the last batch of episodes of this season. So, even though the series has caught up with the manga, it seems like there’s sufficient source left to cover.

Although nothing is known yet, we can expect that the original cast members will return for the third run. These include:

    • Shinra – Gakuto Kajiwara (Japanese), Derick Snow (English)
    • Iris – Mao Ichimichi (Japanese), Alexis Tipton (English)
    • Captain Obi – Kazuya Nakai (Japanese), Jeremy Inman (English)
    • Takehisa -Kenichi Suzumura (Japanese), Christopher Wehkamp (English)

    • Maki – Saeko Kamijou (Japanese), Sarah Roach (English)
    • Arthur – Yuusuke Kobayashi (Japanese), Eric Vale (English)
    • Tamaki – Aoi Yuuki (Japanese), Jad Saxton (English)

There’s a possibility that some new faces will also join Fire Force Season 3. Since the series will be in its final phase, it seems like it will also introduce some characters from Soul Eaters, as the manga’s final chapters hinted at the beginning of the new era. So we can expect some crossover events in the third season.

Another user wrote, “Man I definitely don’t know which one is better, both are incredible, but I will not deny that the new chapters that appeared in the 2nd season really pleased me, I love Inca, and the way it was introduced is developed in the plot.” So, it’s pretty clear that the anime performed well in terms of animation, fights, sound designs, and narration.

Fire Force Season 3 Release Date

As mentioned above, the series is currently in production. However, there’s a possibility that a shift in the series’ production house could take place, further delaying the production status and the release date. Considering this, we can expect Fire Force Season 3 to be released sometime in 2026. However, you don’t have to wait that long. That’s because, at Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo 2024 industry panel, it was confirmed that the anime will be split-cour season. The first instalment will arrive in April 2025, with the second one will be released in January 2026. This is all for now. Stay with The Anime Daily for more such updates.
