In/Spectre Season 1 finale showed Rikka congratulating Kotoko. She promised that she would return one day. Kotoko believed that Rikka might make another attempt due to the unlimited potential of the human mind. The following day, Saki found out that the Nanase website had been closed. And online users were spreading the rumor that Saki was still alive. While Kotoko was sleeping due to mental exhaustion, Kuro took Saki out to eat. He revealed that Rikka wanted to become human again. And earlier, she had sought a cure at the hospital. But now, she was trying to use her powers to turn into a human. Kuro thought that this might not be possible.

Rikka was a monster before she consumed yokai meat. But Kotoko felt it was her job to stop her. Kuro was worried about Kotoko constantly putting herself in danger. So, he had taken care of Nanase without her. Rikka might now try to kill Kotoko since she knew Kotoko hinders her. Meanwhile, Saki returned home, confident that she would not see Kuro again. She was relieved that someone was maintaining order in the yokai world. It annoyed Kotoko that she had left Kuro with Saki for two days. In the end, they decided to keep an eye out for Rikka while Kotoko kept serving as the Goddess of Wisdom.
