It has been over a year since the fifth season ended, and now its fans are missing to see mouth-watering delicacies on their screens. Food Wars, also known as Shokugeki no Souma, is a Japanese slice-of-life gourmet anime TV series. It is the remake of Yuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki’s manga series of the same title. Studio JC Staff animated all five installments of the series. The anime first aired on April 4, 2015. It became an instant hit and hence got a renewal for its further seasons. The fifth and the most recent installment of the series premiered on April 11, 2020, and ended after running for 24 episodes on September 26, 2020.

Manga Compared To The Anime

There aren’t many gourmet series that managed to reach even half of the popularity of Food Wars. Its journey to become one of the most popular series started with its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine back in 2012. By the time of its conclusion in 2019, the manga had 19 million copies in print. The duo of Yuto and Shun have published a total of 36 volumes in this manga series. All the five installments of this anime by JC Staff were of different pacing. The first two seasons used thirteen books, whereas the third installment alone exhausted twelve volumes.

Its pacing slowed down in the fourth season again as it only used five volumes. The fifth and the last season of Shokugeki no Souma used the last six volumes and left nothing for the further installments. Now, the production has no content to create Food Wars Season 6. The original manga got discontinued more than two years back. So, there is no hope that they will get new chapters anytime soon.

Food Wars Season 6: Renewal Status

Food Wars is one of the most popular anime TV series. It is even included in MAL’s top 100 most popular series of all time. Souma’s journey hooked the viewers from the very first episode as he learned to prepare the dishes he didn’t even know about. With every installment, the fandom of this installment got even more huge. Shukugeki no Souma has 1.3M members on its MAL group and is also ranked at #51 in popularity. Not only that, but the critical reception of the anime is also quite good. The first four seasons are rated above eight on MyAnimeList, whereas the fifth one is rated 7.33, which is also decent.

So, if the Fifth Plate didn’t exhaust the source material, Food Wars Season 6 should have gotten a renewal by now. The lack of content is the main reason why the makers haven’t announced the sixth season. Also, they provided a conclusive ending to the show’s fifth season. So, they will certainly do not like to ruin it by expanding its plot. So, the current renewal status of this show is “canceled.”

Will The Anime Ever Return? 

After the conclusion of the Food Wars’s fourth season, the officials announced that the fifth season would wrap up the series by concluding its storyline. As a result, the makers used all the remaining source material in the fifth season. The final episode featured the finals of the BLUE tournament, in which Erina managed to defeat Souma. Since BLUE is the grandest Shokugeki competition, there is nothing left for Souma to achieve in this show.

So, there is no point in continuing the show after giving it a satisfactory ending. Therefore, it is likely that the fans will never get to see Food Wars Season 6. However, there is a possibility that the makers might release a spin-off of this show due to its popularity.

The plot of Food Wars follows the tale of a teenager named Soma Yukihira. He desires to become a full-time chef in his father’s restaurant named “Restaurant Yukihira.” His father tried to enroll Soma in an elite culinary school named Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, where students compete in Food Wars. Soma made a lot of friends and enemies during his time in the academy. The series follows his journey from his first year.

In the fifth season, Soma competed in the biggest Shokegeki competition ever known as BLUE. He even defeated Asahi Saiba in the semi-finals of this competition. Last year, in November, Crunchyroll announced that the anime series is receiving a second season. Not only that, but they also revealed that the sequel is already in production. The Kyokou Suiri anime is based on the LN series of the same name, which also has a manga adaptation. The LN series only has three books, whereas the manga has published a total of 14 volumes so far. Brain Base did a fine job in adapting the source material. The anime closely follows the footsteps of its parental content, and that was one of the main reasons for its success. Its first season ended on the last chapter of the sixth volume of the manga series. Now, In/Spectre Season 2 will continue right the plot from the seventh volume and take its storyline forward. 

In/Spectre Season 2: Plot Details!

By the end of the anime’s first season, Kotoko and Kuro began to date each other. Saki-San possesses no threat now, but Rikka Sakuragawa, the older cousin of Kuro, is the real danger now. Currently, he is hiding, and in the meantime, Kotoko and Kuro solve several mysteries. Now, in the second season, both of them will try their best to track Rikka. However, the latter is a hard one to find. In/Spectre Season 2 will also feature the apartment incident in which a number of suicides begin to take place in the same building Rikka just moved in.

Yukiya Murasaki and Takahiro Tsurusaki began the serialization of this LN series in December 2014. Since then, they have published a total of 14 volumes. The first season of the anime series covered the first four volumes. Its second season also maintained the same pace and used three books. The second season found its stopping point at the last chapter of Volumes 6. However, it also used some of the chapters from Volume 8.

The great thing is that the production studios have more than enough content to make How Not To Summon A Demon Lord Season 3. They can use all the source material from the remaining six volumes and can even make a split-cour season. There is a great possibility that the third season will begin from Volume 7. Then it might go on to adopt the remaining chapters from Volume 8, find its stopping point at Volume 9.

The critical reception of the series was not very good since the beginning for some obvious reasons. As we stated above, this show featured content that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. What Happened In The First Season?

The intriguing storyline of this anime series began when a gamer named Takuma Sakamoto mysteriously transported into his favorite MMORPG, named Cross Reverie. In the game, he appeared as his character, the Demon Lord Diablo. He was summoned by two young girls who were trying to make Takuma their servant. However, their spell backfired due to Takuma’s ring with magic reflection ability. As a result, instead of making Takuma his servant, they became his slaves.

Takuma has an issue of social anxiety, and hence he decided to act like Lord Diablo and planned to use his vast knowledge of Cross Reverie in order to survive in this new world. He began a journey along with Rem and Shera, his two slaves so that they found a way to undo their magic and remove their slave collars. At the same time, he also helped them deal with their personal problems. These issues are the main reason that led Rem and Shera to summon Takuma inside the game.

What Happened In The Second Season?  

In the second of How Not to Summon A Demon Lord, the viewers saw Diablo promise Rem that he would begin a hunt to find a marriage ring for her. Shera bragged about her ring in front of Rem that led to the new quest of Diablo. However, it is not the only thing that Diablo is dealing with. He learned that God crushed the Demon King and sealed him up until a time when a Hero appeared that could win against the Demon King. However, God also left a method behind by which the seal can be undone.

Demon Lord Diablo got to know that this ritual was passed down by the Dark Elves, so they might be able to remove the remaining particles of the Demon Lord’s soul that is still inside the body of Rem. How Not To Summon A Demon Lord Season 3: Plot Details

Diablo has a situation on his hand, as he is not prepared for his battle with the Demon Lord. Therefore, he quickly needs to find a swordmaster so that he can level up his skills. He is short on time as the opponent’s army already began to march towards the city of Faltra, and that too with an extraordinary force. As a result, in How Not To Summon A Demon Lord Season 3, he will likely ask the dark Elves to collaborate with him.

Hence if we look at its critical reception, it is pretty unlikely that the series will return for Aikatsu Planet Season 2. Also, it has only been a few months since the completion of this show. Season 1 Review

Several studios tried to create a blend of anime and live-action series. However, it didn’t work well for them. The same happened with BN Pictures’ Aikatsu Planet. This show started off pretty well and managed to catch the attention. However, then it went downhill. The thing that could be a lot better about this show was its characters. They aren’t interesting or unique in any way. The worst part is that they didn’t go through any kind of development.

However, the art and the animation of Aikatsu Planet were really good. It has improved a lot in the last few years. But most of the viewers overlooked it because of the sloppy storyline. Overall, the show was quite average but is good enough to kill the boredom. 

Aikatsu Planet Season 2: Release Date

BN Pictures is yet to wave a green signal to the sequel of this hybrid show. It might face some trouble due to low ratings and popularity, but that can change any day. So, if they decide to get the green light to another run of this hybrid show, then the fans can expect Aikatsu Planet Season 2 to release sometime in 2023.

The first twelve-episode run of the anime remained faithful to its source material. Its pacing was also really good as it perfectly described the characteristics of the sports and the story of its protagonist at the same time.

The twelfth episode of the series ended on the last chapter of Volume 4 of the manga. That means TMS Entertainmet still has 15 more volumes for Burning Kabaddi Season 2. These chapters are more than enough for them to create four more seasons of Shakunetsu Kabaddi.

Burning Kabaddi Season 2: Renewal Status

The manga readers have very high hopes for the anime, and the latter successfully managed to fulfill them. Its story was intriguing, the character development throughout the show was great, and it has the thrill of a sports show as well. As a result, it met with a positive critical reception, and the viewers also praised the series. On MyAnimeList, it has a score of 7.10, whereas it has more than 77K members in its group on the same platform. Also, the production studio has enough source material to create 3-4 more installments of the series. Plus, the demand to see the second season of this sports anime is also very high.

Therefore, it is likely that sooner or later, TMS Entertainment will give the green light to Burning Kabaddi Season 2. It will likely take some time as the first run of the anime ended only a few months back. 

Burning Kabaddi Season 2: Release Date

TMS Entertainment is currently busy with the production of Lupin The Third Part 6 and Dr. Stone Season 3. Therefore, even if its renewal comes right away, the fans have to wait for at least one and a half years to see the sequel. It ran for a total of 12 episodes before concluding on March 24 of the same year. Since then, the fans of this Yuri anime have been anticipating the arrival of its sequel. 

Manga Compared To Anime

Saburouta began the serialization of the Yuri manga series on November 17, 2012. The manga ran for six years and concluded on March 24, 2018. Throughout these years, the author has published a total of ten volumes. Passione Studio has used only the first four volumes in the anime’s first season. Therefore, the studio still has six more volumes left to create Citrus Season 2. The remaining content is more than enough for a studio to create a full-fledged 12-episode installment. The mangaka began the serialization of a spin-off series as well titled “Citrus Plus.” He has already published three volumes, and the manga is still on the run. 

Citrus Season 2: Renewal Status

Citrus was one of those Yuri anime that managed to impress the fans. It won the hearts of viewers worldwide and left an impact. The anime received an exceptional response from the fans. However, it got a mixed response from the critics. At the time of writing, it holds a score of 6.49 on MyAnimeList, which is not very high. But the good thing is that the series has more than 418K members in its MAL group and is ranked at #393 on the same platform. Also, the production studio has more than enough source material for Citrus Season 2. 

However, it has been more than three years, and the makers haven’t provided a single update on the future of this show. It might’ve happened because of the low critical reception of the series. Also, Girls’ love is a bit controversial topic. So, it seems like the producers of the anime decided not to move forward with this show. Also, the manga series ended way back in 2018, and now the anime has nothing left to promote. Therefore, now it is very unlikely that the anime will ever return for another run. 

Citrus Season 2: Release Date

As mentioned above, the probability for the anime to return for another season is very less. However, the show is one of the most popular romance anime series. So, there is a slight possibility that sooner or later the makers might renew the show because of its huge demand. If this happens in the next few months, then Citrus Season 2 might release by the end of 2023.
